Just saw Stokes has been suspended! There must be something going on we don't know about. We all know about the Commons incident, Scott Brown earlier in the year. All forgiven. So whilst Stokes should know better, has he behaved any worse than Commons and Brown?

Johnnymac . It could well be a case that the whole first team squad were brought together and told enough was enough and no further outbreaks of disrespect or bad behaviour would be accepted .
I also think that Stokes would have been given a severe warning regarding future conduct after his Elvis clash . I have no sympathy for him and I think Commons should have been chased too.

Johnnymac from what i know before this post it is his behaviour off the field that is the issue. Personally I've always thought he is not good enough for team, but he is a hell of a lot better than cifti.

I can totally understand his frustration as the United twins Armstrong and gms have been poor to be polite this season and he's been left to rot. I've seen you saying his nightlife is the issue but since an elvis punch I can't recall anything he has done wrong in his control in the media. If he's not wanted then Ronny and celtic should do the right thing and tell him to leave either on loan or permanently and reach a settlement as they should do with many other players at the club rather than hanging around with no chance of game time .

They want him off the payroll, simple as really. They'll chase him out just like the did big Bobo Balde. I think he's being punished all season for not leaving during the summer. While he's no superstar, he as does everyone, deserves a fair crack of the whip. He is being demonised. No one can say he's not better than some of the passengers we've played so far this year.

It's obviously because Stokes has so much previous they've said enough! His attitude has been a disgrace pretty much since he came back, I've heard loads and loads of Stories about him out with the 3 main ones that were all over the papers - Elvis incident, Alan Ryan funeral, and singing up on the stage in the boozer on the Fall's Road. It's terrible PR for the club. Right back to leaving Arsenal at 16, he done nothing at Sunderland, and I can't think of 1 goal he has scored for us in a big game. His record in Europe is absolutely awful, he hasn't scored against the other mob for us, he's basically our version of Kris Boyd - all his goals come against teams that players worth 100k score against!

The problems go back to NLs time and he does bring a lot of negative headlines we don't need.
Another case of a very fortunate guy who got a golden opportunity at his boyhood favourites and totally blew it.
I would welcome a clear out in January or the summer at the latest and let him go along with Commons, Boerigter, Scepovic, Forrest and send Blacket back as well.
Freeing up funds for better talent or improved contracts for consistent performers.
If Kieran Tierney continues to remind me of Danny McGrain at his peak, I can see a future captain of Celtic to replace Brown as and when required.

I agree about those players moving in Jan. It is vital we get about 5 out, and 3 players in that will walk straight into the team. A top centre half, and top striker are the 2 main ones. We need players settled for the qualifiers, especially with the Euro's coming up.

He was lucky he wasn't sacked after the Elvis incident, he certainly would have received a severe warning . Alan Ryan was a complete non story . In Ireland we attend family friend's funerals and party after it . That is the natural thing to do and either people who don't understand or who want to get a dig at him or the club made a fuss . Singing in the bar co- owned by his agent and Paddy McCourt, no big deal
The friends in the pub were not complaining and enjoyed it . He didn't bring the club into disrepute although the journalist or the so called fan that published did their best
However Stokes knew he was on a sticky wicket & should have had manners on Sunday . His form has slipped sinced the Elvis episode and he doesn't seem to want to be here, most people wanted rid of him, now he has become particularly useful to those who want to knock the club .

Stokes for me is a decent SPFL player and if he played every week would be a 20 goal a season man.
I know he has not cut it in Europe but so have others struggled, and its clear to all and sundry he is better with a partner.
So from a purely football perspective is Ronny cutting his nose off to spite his face as its possible he could strike a partnership with LG.
My worry here is that if we were lucky enough to get a good striker in Jan and he managed somehow to make a great partnership with LG what would Ronny do?
Wud he bench 1 all the time and bring him on.
Or would he play both and change the system god forbid.
Interesting times me thinks, thought guys.

How do you know his form has slipped old bhoy when RD doesn't play him, instead sticking to the non events he's had a part in signing GMS Armstrong Ciftci.

If I remember correctly Stokes did have a brief partnership with Griffiths under NL and it worked well.
He seemed to be in RDs plans last season but subsequently lost his place and indiscipline and boredom has set in and like Commons I don't think he respects RD.
It's a shame as he has an eye for goal in the SPL and is a better option than Armstrong out left - where he did some good work in previous seasons.
I doubt he will play again under the current management team but he should have screwed the nut and knuckled down - as he is better than some, in the squad.

Old Bhoy I think the club wanted to distance themselves from sectarian singing which he was alleged to have been doing and poor judgement being present at a convicted terrorist memorial service is poor judgement on his part.

Others see every action the club and every thing Ronny does as completely wrong . some of us have no middle ground and just ridicule Deila and every decision he makes.

I'm simply saying that Stokes is a better option than any of the mentioned, is that so hard to grasp. It's got eff all to do with where he comes from.
