Watchin the CL and in particular Messi it got me wonderin. Do we have a player of quality(our standard) who might not be the most hard workin or the best athlete in the world, but can stick the ball in the net consistently time and again as well as lots of assists.Yes we do his name is Kris Commons.Yet for some strange reason our manager it seems doesn't play him every wk for some reason as he may not be the fittest or doesn't fit his system (esp in important games).Now I appreciate RD wants a pressing team but does that mean he would leave out Messi as he doesn't do that much? You ask any manager of substance and he will tell you he will build a team round that player. Yes RD has said this but does anyone actually believe it? He also said he doesn't want loan players yet we got 5.He also said our players are happy, really? Happy players play well, not once in 5 games.He also said players need to get fitter, we have always been fitter than the rest of the SPFL.Do we really need to be fitter to beat St.Mirren Accies etc?He also said we not CL standard, really? All we needed to do was beat Maribor and we were, again never played Commons in a vital game then put him on at half time to make us more attacking when we didn't need to win the game.He also wants an attacking team playing high tempo now that's fine but in the CL we will get slaughtered playin attacking football with 1 up top and 2 wide men we clealy don't have enough in midfield to do this.Yes at home we can beat anyone on our day but this usually down to momentum and the crowd getting behind the team.Now this might sound like an attack on RD but it isn't he just confuses the hell out of me.

Rayman funny enough it does read like an attack on Commons . Last season we seemed to be able to feed Commons as he faced the opponents goal and he was deadly. This season Commons seems to be always coming out from the back four when receiving the ball.
I think Kris is anticipating a tackle from behind and miss controls the ball. On Saturday last Johannson was winning or receiving the ball deep and ran through their midfield and at their defence, creating space for the attackers . Maybe it will always work, maybe it won't .

Sorry it was meant to be sticking up for commons, but don't tell me based on 1 performance against Ross county people are now sayin SJ is the answer. Only a few weeks ago many were slaughterin him on here as average at best.

So what if we signed 5 players on loan? Would rather see 5 loan signings brought in, than waste £millions on duds.

I like how you refer to them as Delias signings, yet last season with regards pukki, derk, balde etc these players were not lennon signings. When did the policies change?

We are fast approaching november, Delia has a stronger squad with likes of lustig, brown, matthews back and combined with loan signings team is getting stronger. No excuses for Delia from now on in. He has the tools, so why not give the guy a break and let him rebuild squad and get games flowing?

Rayman are you saying if we beat maribor we would have been champions league standard? having a laugh mate we are behind the worst teams in the champions league right now in terms of standard. Look at bate borisov they got hammered 7-0 at home to shakhtar but a bet if we went away to bate we would get beat probably easily. Roma hammered 7-1 at home by bayern and that's roma so again how you can say we would have been cl standard if we beat maribor. We struggled to beat zagreb at home in the europa who on another night could have hammered us 5/6 - 1 with the chances they had. As for the loan players aye ronny said he wouldn't get loans players and didn't like em but c'mon what was he meant to do? he wasn't getting funds to buy players and we were in dire need of players in so it probably got to a point where he felt he had to get some in and the loans were all he had to work with (btw a hate loan signings) or the board went over his heard which I think they done with tonev tbh no way was he ronnys signing and dobt another couple were either. Commons for all he's done with his goals last season if he genuinely doesn't fit in deilas regime or he thinks he isn't fit enough then he needs to ship him out simple as that he's 31 if he's going to leave then he should in january so we get a fee before he leaves for free next summer. You really need to get off ronnys back we have just had a 5-0 result granted against a rubbish team but it's still 5-0 and we played some good football again. We have 4 points from 2 tough european games. We are getting 1st team regulars back from injury yet some fans still feel the need to have a dig at the guy. Give him the summer then cast your judgement

Commons was immense last season but if you look more closely at this seasons performances I'm sure when Commons has played we have lost or drawn all the games he has been involved in and when he hasn't played we have won them quite comfortably. Check it out the facts are there.

@gunnie hey mate if you in the CL you are CL standard, you don't have to be the best just be in it that's the standard. We not in it so we not. @DN my old pal I not naïve enough to think RD scouted and signed these players but he prob had final say just like Lennon. If you read my post about DiCanio it says it all.

Why is it when players have one good season they are the bees knees.

Commons did well last year, scored a lot of goals. A few pens, a few long range shots and a few poacher efforts. The main reason was he was more or less employed as a Striker given the poor players we had up front.

Commons is an SPL player, nothing more and nothing less. But he is far too slow to play in RD system, I think he is a good player and has been more than value for money, but reality is I don't think we hammer Ross County with him in the squad.

My opinion is that no changes should be made to the squad for Thursday. Emilio if he is injured then of course should be replaced by Matthews. Scepovic should replace Guidetti.

Looking forward to the next game to see if RD does stick with the same team.

1 good season? you havin a laff mate, Commons has had many good seasons and not just for Celtic he been the best player at most clubs he played for.

@rayman but the fact we didn't make it to CL due to missing key players through injury and lack of investment at that point is not Delias fault.

The same squad that played againist Maribor, would of been ran off the park by chelsea the other night. To be honest that same squad would be of a europa league mid-standard.

Just because a team qualifys for CL doesn't automatically deem them CL class

Mmmmmm let me think about this DN. We might be bottom of that class but we still in the class.
