I do hope it works out for Delia. But I'm just wondering who anyone would take as manager if he doesn't get the time. Don't really think there's much out there at the minute that could cum in without wanting to spend a lot of money because that's wots going to have to happen if delias methods don't pan out. Tony pullis. But he don't play that attractive celtic football that we all like. I don't think it would be easy to get a manager which is why we have ronny. I do hope it works out. He talks a good game just hope he pulls it off.

I think Ronny Deila is a good fit and hope he I given time and more backing from the board. I think Neil Lennon knew exactly what was going to happen with transfers in and out of the club and that he wouldn't be able to strengthen the squad much so he decided to leave. If I had to choose someone else I would probably have to say Steve Clark. He did a very good job at West Brom and has worked under the best in the world.

2.) 28 Aug 2014
Guys, let's not dwell on RD's replacement just yet. He's simply a victim of the board's penny pinching approach.
It's like blaming the manager of Accrington Stanley when they get knocked out of the FA Cup by Man City.

Completely agree mate, the board need to come out and explain what's going on. Ronny Deila is a proven coach and manager and I believe he will prove to be a success but he needs to be backed with some quality permanent signings.

Guys RD has made so many U turns since he took the job. He took john Collins on at the request of Lowell and co. So right away he is going to do as he is told. He said that he didn't believe in loan signings. That is all he has made to date. Again that is what the Board have told him to do. He said he would not change his philosophy on attacking football. We get smashed by Warsaw and he says he has learned to compromise. He puts on Betgett in the Warsaw match and the guy had only 1 training session with the team. Thus is a guy he knows nothing about. How is Betgett ever going to understand this high tempo style in 1 training session? He then makes 10 changes for Inverness. The players should have played and he could have tried out his system and reinforced this game. His team selection for Tuesday night was poor. Why Ambrose in midfield? No Commons. Celtic look poor but these are not poor players. They won the league by 29 points. They now look hopeless. They are better than that. It's RD system that is wrong. Watch the Europa league and when we get smashed game after game then tell me if he is the right man for the job.

Proven? Where? NORWAY FFS?

A hate to admit this but Keith Jackson @ the Daily Rag has it spot on the day or he is just reading my posts on here and going to print with them!

How the F**K can we have a quality manager a CL type manager when he is on about 100k less a year than SEVCO's manager in an inferior league who has done NOWT (and btw! that is after HIS 50% wage cut!

He Picked Ambrose in Poland, destroyed Dundee Utd WITHOUT him! Then told US we were waiting on EFE for HIS EXPERIENCE! then played in an alien position, a position he never played in before in a CL game after he got his get out of jail free card and before anybody types this he plays in a BACK 5! for Nigeria not a BACK for 4

Please Please am asking surely to goodness I am not the only one that noticed that RD looked very uncomfortable out there, totally out his depth, as a pointed out he went for broke when he never needed to FFS!

How/Why "tinker" with a formula that destroyed arguably the next best team in Scotland where the Maribor manager looked uncomfortable with what HE WAS seeing!

So now we have so far signed FIVE players and THREE of them play in the same POSITION!

IT IS A JOKE!! HE IS A JOKE! THE CHEAPEST OPTION!! we do not deserve that a suspect he would have been a great number TWO

Forget this PI** that you like the way he speaks etc. he is a SCHOOL TEACHER to trade, he is an AURATOR! very comfortable in that mode

There is an element that the board are to blame absolutely! for short changing us but guess what folks

THEY DID IT WHEN THEY APPOINTED HIM!

So many glaring mistakes in a short space of time, but he was an experienced manager in Norway and needs time to adjust to the possibility of an away game to Stenhousmuir

I honestly do think there is something in delia. I really do. Just don't think he will get time. Look at his last job. He was successful because he got time. He started off crap there to. You don't get time in celtic job. Especially now if sevco are lucky enough to get up. We need to have our house in order because just now we are miles away from what we should be. Granted there was a lot of money made in the Lennon era but there was also a lot wasted. He bout pretty badly at the latter end of his stay. We are left with that dead wood just now. It's a rebuild job and Lennon has to take some responsibility rather than having his cheap shots at the club.

8.) 28 Aug 2014
Good post totally agree with everything you say. I also think there is a manager in there somewhere, and it may take him 2/3 years but will he get that kind of time? no chance and nor should he if it persists in same vain.

9.) 28 Aug 2014
I am with Jamiebhoy7….too many contradictions and mistakes

Says after legia we are not a CL team in need of serious overhaul (what did that say to the players?)

Plays Efe for experience as a right full back having played him on the saturday at Caley …why was he the only one playing (other than Mulgrew) …

Why did we have to endure a low tempo first half with a middle 3 of kayal mulgrew and johanssen …in aggregate the least dynamic midfield trio I think I have ever seen

The good parts of the game came too late and he then says that it wasn't poor defending that was the cause of defeat but missed chances…our defending was abysmal ALL NIGHT ….

Efe was an embarrassment out on the right and Izzy wasn't far behind on the left

Look at what happened on Tuesday night (!!), the young lad is played away from home (19 years old and total rookie and being honest I wasn't that impressed) and then dropped for the home tie for Efe's experience but not on a like for like basis, meaning Lustig dropped in to middle of defence

NO wonder we are disjointed…we haven't played a consistent team year in similar positions to the weeks previous ….

stokes does not play up top on his own (but RD persists)

Berget was brought in and played in warsaw when one day previous he was a cardiff outcast (that must have done a lot for the squad's confidence and self-esteem)

VVD has had mulgrew as a buddy, and Dameier, and Ambrose and Lustig…making VVD a worse player overnight

Izzy's form has been poor but he is allowed to rest (when it was match fitness he needed to get up to speed and settled)…

The squad is not great, far from it, but surely to goodness we can all agree that RD, based on the cards that he has been dealt, is making a backside of it …

how can he demand consistency when he himself is so blatantly inconsistent ….

rabbit in the headlights indeed….Tuesday called for a first 30 minutes up an at em style; we can live with hard luck stories …

maribor did not merit the care and attention he put in to such a one dimensional, unorthodox and clearly negative set-up ….he than changes it because (in HIS OWN WORDS) a goal was coming for the visitors sp he moves to a more attacking formation ….oddly, it did give us more of the ball and more of the possession (for 15 minutes) but can you see the irony…

we look hopeless and we were not up for that match. the intensity/passion was low and there was a reluctance to carry the ball ….that is a confidence thing but when your coach things your poor and then builds you up and then says your poor again and he himself looks scared to death, what do we expect with no leadership on the park

we have no leadership off he park and RD has to carry the can for a significant element of that!!!!!!

3 games to see a hungry, winning and settled side …. if the confusion and rot continues we need to have a right good look at the club's direction with cool heads

i have nothing against the guy, but maybe he is a good orator, a romantic, with an unshakable belief in a particular system, BUT maybe it is not one he will ever get to fit around our squad and with limited funds, may not have the luxury of time to find players who will embrace it and give him the benefit of the doubt….

10.) 28 Aug 2014
And what do you think will happen in the scenario Delia got the sack? A new manager steps into the job and suddenly things get better?

Get a grip! This is reality not fm2014! Things are not going to get better unless there is investment and a clear out of dead wood by ANY MANAGER.

Being honest if squad was of a decent standard and we still lost against maribor, I too would be calling for his head.

11.) 28 Aug 2014
To DN30, yes I do but the real question is who?

this is a team minus Sammy & ff that went into last seasons CL, went unbeaten for upteen games and never lost a goal for circa 15 games!, there is a lot of deadwood agreed but for crying out loud did you do any homework on LW or Maribor do you realise actually realise how poor both these teams were? DYOR and get back to me!

12.) 28 Aug 2014
DN30,

what has Delia done (not said. ) actually done thus far that has manifest in such a high level of confidence

go on…tell me …I am interested …

what has he done to date that you agree with….

13.) 28 Aug 2014
Exactly paradise! but todays poll is suggesting 2 to 1 thinking the same as us buddy atvb

Jamiebhoy7

Yea he is proven in Norway, what does that matter? People laugh and have the same attitude about managers and players proving themselves in Scotland. Give the man a chance and see if he learns from mistakes. Did Strachan have a great start? No he didn't. The players are poor at best and he needs time to build a squad if he is given the backing.

15.) 28 Aug 2014
Jamie, I know how bad they are. Its embarrasing how bad they are. Never thought i'd say this but I geniunely think sammi would of made a difference these games.

Paradisewon, took a mediocre team to title and cup in norway. Certainly done a lot more than mowbray and lennon before they started.

Yes he is the cheap option, wouldn't even of considered him for job. But he deserves a chance at least

16.) 28 Aug 2014
DN30 a agree Sammy would have done a job, this berget OMG! enough said!

But to Darren7 you cannot compare RD to WGS or TM but let's try a have typed this before in WGS the team that got beat of Brataslava consisted of Marshall (who knew Boruc was in and on the bench that night) Paul Telfer who travelled THE NIGHTBEFORE to meet his team mates Big Bobo who had spent the month (as his own agent tryin to engineer a move AWAY!) and a certain MO CAMARA as for TM he got 1 of the BEST AWAY results in Russia (where we won!) only to cruelly draw Arsenal in the next round (that would not happen now in the format!) let's analyse LW eh? a team with no recognised striker, there biggest G Scorer is a MIDFIELDER a league renowned for being won by one of the LOWEST scoring leagues in Europe! as for Maribor a team that is assembled by not ONE TRANSFER FEE! being paid NEITHER LW or MARIBOR countries having a CL team in the compettion for FIFTEEN YEARS! FFS! RD had TEN that's right TEN WEEKS to prepare for this! a second bite at the cherry, and @ home we MUSTER! TWO attempts at home the second in the 94th minute! RD had no ANSWERS! Please god tell me I am not the only one who noticed how uncomfortable he looked out there / how out of sorts even depth? atvb jb7

17.) 28 Aug 2014
Proven in Norway don't make me laugh you mean like Ole Gunnar Solsjkar? He had faith in BERGET too! the only thing proven in Norway is that Independence backed by the oil industry works!

When was the last Norwegian team that graced the CL emmmm oh that's right it was Rosenberg and we plundered them for there top striker at the time . Harald Brattback!

18.) 28 Aug 2014
28 Aug 2014 21:30:44
All I am saying is give the man some time. It doesn't matter how you paint it, the fact is managers have started poor and gone from strength to strength. The squad is one of the worst in a long time and he hasn't been able to strenghten as much as he needs and managers make mistakes. Neil Lennon knew exactly what was happening and was smart enough to walk away. If he was still Manager with the same results would the reaction to him still be the same? I don't see the problem with him coming from Norway he has had massive success there and deserves the opportunity to move to a bigger club. The Scottish league probably isn't any better we just have a couple of bigger clubs.

19.) 28 Aug 2014
Darren7 "the squad is one of the worst" is this the squad that, ade last years CL stages, went circa four months not getting beat or losing a single GOAL! minus Sammy and FF, CG has not put a foot wrong so far mate!, A can think of loads of great Scots managers can't think of ONE Norwegian!, A want him to succeed, but his selection, his decision making is CLEARLY questionable atvb jb7

20.) 28 Aug 2014
28 Aug 2014 22:29:25
I know he hasn't, as good as Forster is I think with Gordon he is the player we will miss the least. I am not singling players out I am sayin overall the squad is one of the wost there is no depth and the players there are watching there team mates being sold and replaced with poor loan signings players are not going to have the same motivation with this system in place. The fact he is from Norway means nothing and it doesn't make him a bad manager and just because you can't think of a great Norwegian manager doesn't mean there is none with the potential. Mate I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree

21.) 29 Aug 2014
@ Darren7 Or we could choose to ignore the facts mate if that suits you? atvb
