Ed, I don't know what's allowed to be posted but that was rubbish! Usual from our board, wait until it's too late and let the manager take the flack! I heard Lennon left because he wanted Mackay-Steven and Joey Barton for £6m and they chased him. Disgraceful. A very angry Celtic fan tonight. I said before that EL was probably a blessing in disguise but after a second chance we should be doing far, far better than this!

{Ed007's Note - You're right it is disgraceful, any manager that signs Joey Barton should be sacked and ran out of town by a baying mob wielding pitchforks, the 'man' is scum. If that's true then it's just another reason we should be glad NL isn't still manager.}

We had the chances in the game added to the 2nd bite chance and didn’t do it simple as that. I am deflated but it doesn’t feel the same as previous European defeats. I didn’t expect us to go out but it was more of the leiga syndrome kicking in, that same feeling of not cutting it and its hard to take. we just didn’t look the part out with a few busy spells. Tomorrow I will be back to my raging critical self but more than that i'm annoyed that i'm even shrugging my shoulders and thinking it was coming. It was clear to see our preforming players and the ones that we slate every week doing what they do. Consistent in the wrong ways again. Lustigs hip gone and Izzys calf as well. If VV stays then we are lucky, if not we will be threadbare for the Europa. To save face our pending transfers will go through but I don’t expect much else but departures and a bit of patchwork stuff being done. can't be arsed with the usual blood youngsters and demanding position cover or improvements sigingings. We are just going to have to watch this roll out. Our “budget” whatever that means now has to be used wisely again whatever that means. Tired of typing i'm going for a can…

I wouldn't want him either, no matter how much "passion" he brings to a team but it's just the usual! The club had been managed superbly for 3/4 years but totally mismanaged for the last 2. Shocking! I know you don't like Lenny Ed but I reckon he would have got us through this tie. Berger is not good enough, I've said for about 2 years now Izzy isn't good enough and there seems to be no intention of sorting it out

{Ed007's Note - Really? I reckon if NL was manager we wouldn't have got past Reykjavik.}

3.) 26 Aug 2014
Ed - say what you want about NL, if he was in charge tonight we would have went through ( I'm not in NL fan club ) Ronny doesn't know he's oot the hoose.

{Ed007's Note - Yaawwwnnnn.}

4.) 26 Aug 2014
Yeah a agree NL would have got us through no doubt about it

IanL . Irrelevant debate kicking off. Lenny is gone and ed get some kip ;)

(Another) can down .fuming again. The missus came in from work and having to explain the situation in its comprehendible entirety has tipped me over. Realised I was keeping a lid till she came home and was off to bed (hindsight good call). Tonight was a trundling inedibility in this tie or the next and from a few posts going up we were all on the same hair trigger. I’m truly lost on the next stage the club accepts we lower ourselves to and limp forward. New manager, new players, new board? My knee jerking would put Michael flatly out of a f###in pay packet

Neil Lennon would have got us through? Is that a joke? He barely made it through last year against Karagandy - and we've lost quality since then. We were very fortunate in the home tie of that match, and that sort of luck would never hold out.

For all you that are already rewriting history re Neil Lennon and how great he was, has it ever occurred to you that the reason he left was because he didn't think he could do it again.

And only three players were involved tonight that weren't Neil Lennon's.

Berget. McGregor. Gordon.

In my opinion, the latter two would get pass marks.

I backed RD before the game, and I back him now.

{Ed007's Note - But..but..but... it's Neil Lennon.... it doesn't matter what the results were, he's Irish.. he's a supporter... he's one of us... You know, the important stuff.}

NL was getting results with a decent enough team that has constantly been disrupted by PL need to sell on and replace with lesser, gradually downgrading the standard.It's got to the stage where he won't even buy players but look about loaned ones, injured at that .I don't believe NL would have win tonight due to what would have been available to him but I certainty don't believe it was his fault they lost tonight .
With CL now gone, RD should be given time to do it his way but unless the board back him in the transfer market the whole thing will be pointless .
Its going to spell the end for a few 'established players', a good clear out .
I make no secret of the fact I think Stokes is a good forward played in the right system so his future lays elsewhere, Mulgrew, Forrest not up to it, Matthews needs a injury free run maybe, VVD will be shifted to line a few more pockets so I fear Ambrose will be retained .Izzie will have to be shifted as will Griffith, who is a decent forward but can't see him in RDs plans, Commons? I don't know .The rest, well, There's a lot of work to be done even for an experienced manager .I have my doubts but RD has to be give a fighting chance .
