Hi Ed, can you please confirm when transfer window closes.
Numerous folk are saying its saturday at 11pm and seemingly published on SFA website. I was under impression it was monday at 11pm? Thanks, keep up the good work {Ed007's Note - The Scottish window closes at 17.00 on Saturday Paulo. Every other major European league's is 23.00 on Monday. It's a total farce, it means we can lose players after our window closes and can't replace them.}

Paulo67

1.) It's Saturday at 11pm for Scottish Premiership clubs and midnight for Scottish Championship, League One and League Two clubs. Only reason our transfer deadline isn't the same as the rest of Europe is because of the SFA not wanting Rangers to have that extra day before the window closes to potentially spend. It's ridiculous as it means we and the rest of Scottish football are missing out on extra days to bring in players. Also at risk as you say of losing players.

~seamus~ {Ed007's Note - Sorry, you're right mate. It is 23.00.}

2.) That is an absolute joke. Why would they even think that makes sense?

Slightly different subject ed but if Pukki would still be able to play in CL if he signed, i'm guessing it would be the same for Hosiner? Not that I think we`ll go for him, just curious as I thought they could only play if their team was knocked out.

MikeyBhoy. {Ed007's Note - It has caused confusion throughout football all day MB. Even on Sly they said NL was hoping to bring players in before Monday's deadline! It wasn't until I got an e-mail confirming it that I knew what to believe. Both players would be cup-tied for Europe btw.}

3.) Maybe if peter Lawell got his finger out his ass couple of weeks ago and spent a bit of money we received from our tops stars then we wouldn't be worrying when transfer deadline ends as we have our players no doubt we will panic buy on saturday night end up wae Roger milla and benson and hedges lol guys if we don't laugh about it we will get mad hail hail bal1986

4.) This is utter insanity by the amateurs that run our game. Neil Lennonm has been quoted as saying we are constantly offered players on the last day of the window - we now will be unable to act on these offers, yet could see star names leaving. Utterly disgraceful. Jean-Pierre Laguerre {Ed007's Note - I have major concerns about our GK situation over the weekend JPL.}

5.) We have a poor enough league and low co-efficient without hampering our teams even more. There is a very strong possibility that our top teams will lose good players over Sunday and Monday and the quality of Scottish football will get even worse.

JJ

6.) Ed - that was my first thought too! We are very vulnrable to a bid for FF. Thing is - we no longer have a 3rd keeper (Kamenar and the swedish guy are both away) so really the club would be forced to sign a backup before the SPFL window shuts, which would state their intentions re Forster. Jean-Pierre Laguerre

As much as would love a commanding centre half and Finboagsson before 11pm tonight, realistically there is no chance, would love to be proved wrong.Lawwell is too shrewd with money, there will be a loan signing at most now, possibly Buttner.To finish on, I don't think Pukki is the player to replace Hooper, cheap option but will give the boy a chance

Paulo67

1.) You have to have somthing to play in Germany mate. I think this guy will be better than Hooper. I'm extatic with this window of I'm honest.

Darrenbhoy

Ps pukki is epic on FIFA lol

2.) Couldn't agree with u more m8, time fans got behind team

As much as it pains me to say this, I seen this performance and result coming.The warning signs were there for all to see against Elfsborg and clearly showed we lacked creativity and an out and out striker like Finboagson.Massive under performance tonight, not many if any with pass marks. Feel the board has taken a massive risk due to opponents with spine of team sold for big money. Have a horrible feeling this was the plan all along hence the reduced season tickets. I still believe for next week and have my ticket but Sammy has got to play wide left and Mulgrew at centre half.Need the same commitment from our board with Finboagson and commanding centre half signed but is it all too late Mr Lawwell

Paulo67

1.) I agree Paulo and fear its been a gamble too far.

Regardless of optimism, we should not be going into next week 2-0 down but the cold hard fact is we are ~ Mrs E

2.) You mention mulgrew who was ball watching at their first goal and barely passed muster. In face he was invisible. Sammy was playing wide left although I suspect he was meant to be CF. I'm sorry but Lennon got this wrong should have changed it earlier and didn't. Brought balde on with 9 minutes to go. Neil thought he had the managerial tools following last year but we scraped through with a lot of good fortune last year and he will be found out this year. The last game was utterly rubbish in sweeden this one had no product it was clear that they couldn't defend their 6 year box but we didn't exploit it. Manager must take a lot of the blame tonight. Selection was predictable and wrong

3.) Can we give it a break with the Finboagson stuff? All of a sudden every Celtic supporter in the world has become a talent scout and this boy is the must have player of the summer. Am I right to think real Madrid are chasing him? Man utd? Spurs even? No, but we have already put this guy on a pedestal he will struggle to live up to if we do eventually sign him. Let's see which poacher/ penalty box striker we sign and take it from there, the scouting system haven't done too bad recently so fingers crossed they unearth the next gem.

Jd

4.) I mention Mulgrew due to knowing his capabilities, he is not a midfielder nor a left mid.Sammy was our lone striker and kept going left, his natural position.Like you I have my preferred list of transfer targets, Alfies scoring record speaks for itself that's the type of player we should aspire to, would you be happy with Doyle or some rubbish loan signing i.e. Miku or Lassad, I think not.Year after year I buy my season ticket and strips, how about our board repaying the fans with a decent signing given our income and spine of team sold

Hi Ed, when is the deadline for signing/registering new players for next CL games? A top class striker/poacher and centre half are a must. Have a horrible feeling Lawwell will take a gamble and only bring a defender or cheap striker Doyle or Sharp until CL football is guaranteed, that is a massive risk.Thanks P.S. keep up the good work {Ed007's Note - The deadline for the Play-Off round is 23.00 on 12th August (Monday) and one can be registered by 23.00 on the day before the first leg is played.}

Given the significance of a Champions League slot, surely we as a club have to speculate to accumulate. I'm not saying go and spend all the transfer fees/last years Champions League money, but we have to aim higher than players like Doyle, Sharp calibre etc.
Year after year, we hear the same old stories about this player and that player but nothing really excites the fans and puts bums on seats.
Yeah we can't offer high quality Scottish league games but Celtic Football Club are a world famous team and have to push the boat out.
I want my club to be miles and miles ahead of Sevco when they return and don't stagnate until that time.
Once again the fans including myself have paid their hard earned money for season tickets and new strip/strips and ticket sales are up, how about rewarding the fans with one or two class signings Mr Lawwell and fill Paradise at every opportunity

Paulo67

1.) Mr lawwell just spent 4 m giving us 100 quid off season tickets to make sure it was a fuller stadium. The signings will come I believe. Andybhoy

2.) Andy, don't kid yourself celtic sold far more tickets this year the loss is not as great as you think. Still good to get the money off!

However I am more than aware that this was due to them not being in the league and our attendences being down last year.

3.) @2 not sure how I'm kidding myself? Was stating a known fact! Would so many people have renewed /purchased without the 100 quid off? Andybhoy
