To the poster saying we are a cash rich club and that we don't need to sell before we buy, that's just none sense, of course we need to sell before we buy, all clubs do. Regardless of how much money we have in the bank there is a wage budget that the club must operate within. We ready have too many strikers that half of them get little or no playing time, which makes it difficult to justify further additions and what value they would add. Celtic are a cash rich club (right now) because they have made well on a couple if players, had a decent run in the CL and and been operating prudently over the last 10 years.
I don't understand why if they are prepared to break the wage structure they didn't do this to keep Hooper for another season or to land Finbogasson in the close season. If this is the case and we are going to shell out on a striker in Jan, I'd be interested to see what it would take to get Steven Fletcher. {Ed007's Note - Hooper's decision to leave had nothing to do with money and I will be amazed if we spent any serious money in January.}
