Has anyone else heard any of these McCourt to Portland Timbers in MLS rumours?

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Paddy's not going there. The Guinness is honking in America.

Anton

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not a huge fan of Paddy but the MLS is tailor made for him. He would be a sensation over there!

Agree0 Disagree0

No I haven't heard them, but I really hope they are true. Taxi for Paddy.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the finest men to pull on a celtic jersey
a guy who supports, knows, loves the club
a guy who can change a game in a an instant
a guy who is attack minded
would have fit into any celtic side in the past 125 years
hail hail paddy mccourt i hope you never leave god bless

Celtic are allegedly looking at Brahim Bedbouda a 22 yr old Algerian International who plays at left back. Seems he comes highly rated from Wanyama's agent.. Mrs E

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Wouldn't he be getting ready for African Cup of Nations right now, if he was an Algerian international ?

Might not be the most popular opinion but I really think our only priority should be to hold onto what we've got. Sure the Israeli guy coming in gives us cover that we will need and competition for Izzy but in all reality, I think any other signing is desirable rather than essential. You want competition for Izzy? Well the form hes on, two words:Charlie Mulgrew. Once we get everyone back we will be left with the puzzle of where to play our set-piece guy More than enough cover in centre of defence if we sign Gershon, midfield does not need Mulgrew, LB spot he was signed for might be his-or Izzy's, theres your competition and if Izzy comes good we know Chic can still do CB (but not midfield IMHO) Daviebhoy

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Lb is mulgrews worst position,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

We will need some cover for when our african players are away for african cup of nations...that's why the isreal defender is coming in, to cover for ambrose...we still need cover for izzy, or even a player to push him a bit more. If reports are true about kayal we will need a CM to come in while wanyama is away playing for kenya...not sure when super joe is back, and we can't be pushing broony too much, we will be needing him for when champs league comes calling. I think 3 more players max, depending on who leaves though...still to take into account that mccourt and rogne might be on their way aswell...take all that into consideration and we will need a few players to come in to replace them never mind enhance the squad...we want to come out the window stronger than we went into it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Am I the only one who thought Adam Matthews was Man Of The Match against Barcelona at Celtic Park and playing on the left. His right foot to Messi's left worked a wee treat.

I think this Israeli guy is being brought in as cover at CB with Ambrose being away.

I do agree that I'll consider this window a success if we hang onto all first team regulars ~ Mrs E

Agree2 Disagree0

Dont think wanyama is away to african cup of nations so i dont think we need cover for vic, id sell kayal if the roman eremenko rumour has any truth to it, need a playmaker in the mid, another winger, left back as izzy isnt the same and maybe another striker if miku goes

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenya have not qualified for ACON so wanyama not going anywhere, Willybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Could not agreed more with river deep bhoy.Charlie is a great ch, but a poot left back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pity it isn't like American Football and we could just bring Charlie on for the free kicks and corners (Joke !) I remember we used to have discussions like this years ago when a new signing was proposed - "who are you going to drop to play him " ? was the cry . You just don't hear that anymore as it is becoming more of a squad game . As someone said - keep improving the squad - injuries, suspensions and International call-ups will test it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rogne and mulgrew at centre half together!!

Would have thought Kayal will stay as Wanyama will get his wish and move, if not Jan the summer .Hooper needs to be sold now if that is his wishes .Would command more of a transfer fee in this window ...TTTS

Lennon has already stated that he would like 2 or 3 players to come in during this window..
Rami Gershon will be confirmed on Monday.
Another option being looked at is Juwon Oshinawa, this is only still an option
Another target of Lennon is Helder Barbosa from Braga, this is a player Lennon admires. Left winger and is out of contract at the end of the season- was almost signed on the last day of the season.

Roman Eremenko is also another target of Lennon, he would cost between 4 or 5 million..this deal will be done if Kayal leaves which looks likely.

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Kayal has been looking good recently but yeah he's the least important in our midfield. Never thought I'd be saying that after his debut season

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see Kayal leaving especially with Gershon joining.

Agree0 Disagree0

The running left back slot needs strengthened. Emilio Izzagere hasn't been the same since his accident.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be happy with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to keep kayal IMO as an offer we can't refuse will come in for victor. If kayal went too that'd leave brown and ledley for centre mid.

They are both good players but the point is they get injured regularly- I know kayal has the same issue but we could go from being very strong in midfield positions to very light.

Victor is gone whether this window or next, ki went in the last and now there's rumours of kayal going. In my opinion we cannot allow this to happen, it would be a disaster.

Jamie mac

Agree1 Disagree0

Would definetely keep kayal, what if Vic gets a bad injury or is sold? And brown has this I ongoing problem also? Ledleys in and out of the team aswell so with the last 16 coming up and the fact we don't have to spend and are financially stable It would be sensible to hold it out till the summer! Then look at our options guys cause there's no point shipping important players out and hurrying to bring in replacements with whom may not jel as soon as we need them to, Lennon himself has said no one has come and said they want to leave so it looks all good in my opinion, why leave when you have the last 16 and in all 4 competitions when you've worked so hard to get there!
Would love to see barbosa though, guys exactly what we need on the left wing and they could be tempted of an offer rather than losing him for nothing.
Gershon barbosa and maybe another defender in
Mcourt Ibrahim and possibly bangura out on loan will happen

Markmck

Agree0 Disagree0

In all honesty, I'll be surprised to see anyone of note (from the first team) leave in the transfer window - and anyone else come in apart from the Israeli defender. Certainly big changes in the summer. That does not mean I don't want any signings by the way.............kbt1978

Agree0 Disagree0

We've always got Sammy on left wing, Forrest on right wing, in midfield, broony, Ledley, commons..... Kayal and big vic, ...

Seen that some Ugandan midfielder is being linked with Celtic.

Moses Batunfata from an Indonesian club - supposed to be concluded next week with strong rumours about Wanyama leaving for united.

Believable8 Unbelievable12

Never heard of this Moses guy but some of Lennies best signings over the last few years have been relatively unknown beforehand

seen that dorrans has been told by west brom he is free to look for a new club i think he would be a great signing for us as he has great ability any thoughts ed ... ryanlarsson

Believable9 Unbelievable15

I don't think he is better than what we have got especially for the money quoted. I think we would be better served spending the money on a play maker.
