I know most are hurting from the loss in the cup, strange old game given the previous run, hmm Samaras! Spot on pass for Stokes goal but not a lot more. BUT. as hard as it is to accept, this is good for our game in Scotland, all this rubbish about being in decline etc. Aberdeen are going well and good on them I say. The more competition the better the league will be as a spectacle, the more we will need to spend to stay on top, more interest from TV and hopefully higher revenue streams for premier clubs. WE NEED competition and strong clubs. Gutted to be out cup but can see bigger picture and as much as I love my team it would be embarrassing to win every single time. That nervousness before a game, the doubts etc all make the experience all the better for me at least.
On a lighter, cheer you up kind of note, the club over in Govan are now planning for Europe. They're going to come to Celtic Park and win the cup "at timmy towers". How much they'll love it, just love it. But hang on a sec', is there not some pesky rule about accounts to worry about, having at least 3 years or some tosh. Ah! it's ok because the SFA will appeal on their behalf. So not only are they a shoe in for the cup, but UEFA will breach their own rules to let them in. after all they are the new people. Prepare for melt down when none of this comes to pass lol. Hail Hail Scott

1.) So Scott, to analyse what you've just said:

You're happy to accept the mediocrity in standards of Celtic FC on a domestic level as it makes the league more competitive, as long as we're still better off than some dead club we've never played before + making our cameo "it's the taking part that counts" European football appearance?

Catch a grip, eh?! There's no excuses for what's happened. The sheer audacity of our support to accept this severe downgrade in expectations turns my stomach!

2.) So Hamitonboy, you claim to have analysed my post and come to YOUR conclusions. Where do I accept mediocrity? I can accept losing a game of football. I also would like to see a stronger league because that will lead to us spending money to stay out in front, think I said that, oh wait I did. I'll leave the moaning to you though, because christ knows you are good at it. Mentioned nothing about being better off than the other team, simply how they now believe they will win cup and play in Europe. Severe downgrade in expectations! WTF you on about? All I said was it would be embarrassing to win every single time. Are you so blind you can't see what's good for all Scottish clubs? How we can get more people back in the ground. Especially our own. It creates interest. Catch a grip? Grow up and see what's good for ALL scottish. Learn to analyse before criticising. Turn your stomach, away you go and do a stint on stage ya wee drama queen.

3.) I don't care about other Scottish clubs, I care about Celtic ONLY. Celtic have the resources available to NOT get embarressed in Europe or domestic cups, yet have failed to do so. The one off was last season in the CL, where we then didn't even bother turning up in the Last 16. Our board need to start standing up for their fans against the nanny state Government and SS-style Police Scotland if they wish to ramp up attendances again. They also need to realise that in any business model you have to speculate to accumulate. Too often they hold back from speculating because they feel the risk is too high, in business you have to take risks. It's possible to minimalise the risk by careful planning and budgeting - I would've thought the short term plan of buying young, cheap players then developing them and selling on for profit is so we can increase our budget and buy better quality after a few years. Is that not what Ajax, Porto, etc have done?

Know this is our site but is it not gloriously karmic that for years the club formerly known as Rangers or The Rangers as they are now known in their 2nd incarnation, fans are now delightfully feverish with paranoia. They liked to dish it out with gusto at us but now it is they who truly are. Foaming at the mouth about CP getting the league cup final. It's all a conspiracy to stop them getting money you know. As for Sooper Dooper Sally's comments, well this only goes to feed the paranoia further. I've had a degree of sympathy for the more sane fans, but after a wee group discussion in amongst them, it's plain that the death of the old club has absolutely driven most over the edge. I happened to suggest that they were only allowed back in (no accounts and all that) as the Scottish Gov were afraid of the social backlash if the club died completely. Suicide and riots were talked about behind closed doors in the Scottish Assembly! This sparked an almighty melee, cries of WATP and No Suspenders or something like that. I do fear what may happen when the new club get administration again. Samaritans. stand by your phones! Scott

1.) Call me paranoid too but secrets breed paranoia. I agree, socially, civil uproar and a dent into the economy are the reasons the rope wasn't tied short enough by the hangman. What other reasons are there for officials bending over backwards? The fact that they're all currants? It's ok though, I'm sadistically enjoying the more slow, squirmy painful death and the stench of false hope and denial is the reason I get up some mornings. Paranoid. Sometimes its just funny how paranoia links up with reality.
