Going to be hammered for this but here goes again ....Big Jon Daly would have been a good option from the bench in yesterday game ...In amoungst them no nonsense CF play ....TTTS

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I think daly would be a good shout too, won everything in the air today, type of player we need and wouldn't cost the earth.

To anyone who seen the game yesterday it is obvious that we need at least 2 or 3 fresh faces in the team - especially a new CB and striker. Aberdeen were well organised and we couldnt break them down with our passing game and had no other options, to solve this problem we need to sign a target man. HH

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Yes, a target man is exactly what is required to break down a well drilled team, who never allowed us to attack from wide positions!? ................kbt1978

Back in from my regular Sunday "lunch" at the pub with my ex bears pals..
Could not believe it when they tried todiss our crowds "only" 48,000 at flag
ceremony and "only" 52,000 at HJK game. I am no maths expert but to
my uneducated brain that makes 100,000 people paying to see Celtic in 4 days.

So I then asked them how many season tickets have been sold by ex club, and got from 40,000 to 50,000 which is the capacity, so no away fans then. I then asked aout tuesday's home game and was told 30,000 going there, so they seem to have "lost" 20,000 fans already.

But I know people who work at Ibrokes and they said sales for Tuesday were "slow" (their words) and season tickets? (fairly brisk) they think come start of season maybe 20,000 at most, given a fair wind.

So lets say figure is 20,000 ST at £240 each roughly about £4.5m.
(although I doubt they will get near this figure) Now they seem to offering contracts around the £5k a week mark, 20 players = £100k a week, £400k month £4.8MILLION a year.

Add in running costs for a team their size and stadium upkeep, and paying
bills (which they sometimes do) and they just cannot survive a season
unless Green and his magic consortium put millions into club.
So looks like ex club may be first ex ex club Timalloy

Dont forget the asbestos problem which is the new elephant in the room.If that has to be done during the season theres more cash out in hiring a ground.Be an interesting couple of months i think............green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

Green Jhedi yes the asbestos problem will be interesting, but surely even cheaters fc will not be allowed to get a safety certificate until properly assessed, but game on Tuesday going ahead, so either they have got safety certiciate or have temporary one pending work to remove it. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Last i heard the old safety certificate runs out the end of August, but im not 100% sure.A few weeks back there was some problem with signing off on a certificate as it had to be the owner and green seemed to be dodging it.Again not 100% sure but that was from my bluenose mate............... green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

GJ you'd listen to anything you are told. I seem to recall you banging on about how Celtic were going to English Leagues a couple of months back but, hey, maybe evreyone including your editor was wrong to laugh at that one eH. The comments you make on this site strain credibility at best yet you seem to feast on some of the more positive comments of agreement you get from others in the deluded category. If you know something tangible then post it but don't go on about your 'blue nosed' pals comments just so you can keep your obsession wth Rangers going - it's so boring and tiresome...Yours, Blue Wookie

Agree2 Disagree4

Sounds like you're the one with the obsession Blue wookie, knowing and memorising every post Mr Jhedi has ever made.....and then trawling the Champions page to add your tuppence.

so....what don't you believe about his post then? that ibrokes has no asbestos problems?? or the fact that dead rangers were given 2 years to fix the problem, and that time is almost up? or is all that just timmy propaganda?

before you try to pull someone up, try doing a bit of research yourself, instead of jumping on the defensive/deflective bandwagon that you zombies are so fond of

taco

Agree4 Disagree1

Wookie(very original!); I never "banged on" about Celtic moving to England, mentioned it ONCE.Just where is the Delusion? Do you have asbestos that needs to be removed? Does your stadium require a safety certificate? You also use quotation marks(well your thick people version) over my blue nose mates. Why would that be? But more importantly,if it's boring and tiresome why are you on a Celtic page responding? Anybody would think the league did not kick off yester...oh wait. The small teams dont start till next week. Now i understand.Still want to play with the big boys eh? Very sad............green jhedi

Agree6 Disagree3

Hi Taco,

I note your comment about my perceived obsession and my memorising EVERY GJ posting, which is pretty far from the truth. I have no quibble with his or any other comments regarding asbestos or wise-cracking jokes about trawlers. My point about obsession is based upon GJ's and others NUMEROUS comments about a team that is not Celtic - that's where obsession trully comes to the fore. I've visited this site over the summer months out of curiosity, just as Celtic fans visit Rangers' sites. The big difference, however, is that I have never posted anything about Celtic or any other team on such Rangers sites nor have I felt the urge to do so. WHY? because I don't consider it important enough or the slightest bit worthwhile to do so. The big difference is that Rangers are now consigned into Division 3 and yet some posters on Celtic Rumours/ Banter think it more important to concentrate on Rangers than their own team.

GJ - Surprisingly enough I do know what and how to use "quotation marks". I also know the difference between quotations and highlighting of words for reference purposes.

Agree2 Disagree2

Well the 3 biggest supporters groups and your current owner seem to have an obesession with Celtic which is bordering on extreme paranoia of the most ridiculous kind.

Rangers over the summer was the biggest story in Scottish football and a major talking point. What's the 'excuses' of these supporter groups and Charles Green..as you say, Celtic are not even in the same league ~ Mrs E

i see a prophet on the dark side praising himself for predicting 4 things that would happen as scottish football dies , and how three of them have already come true { t*t } .when me and my good lady come through to celtic park , between supporters bus or petrol , tickets, a couple of drinks, paradise windfall , bite to eat +soft drink , programme. we depending on how much the tickets are , will spend anything from £80/£110 per game. their tickeys are cheaper now, but it still must cost ,fo0r the same day out between 60/ 90 . add to that the fact a lot of their games will be televised.. so now i'll make a prediction .. they have two home games the first fortnight in january against elgin and berwick.. i predict that if the roads are icy and it is really cold and wet and miserable , there wont be 5,000 of them at either game . 60 quid to watch elgin in the pissin rain , i don't think so . mystic shamrock

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Great point mate. How many people walk to the game, dont spend a penny, and walk home? It is a day out for most.My day costs me:petrol,£10.Parking,£5.Food and drink pre match,£10 then post match with the car parked and in the pub,it could be anything between £10-£50 depending on plans for the night.............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Shamrock I saw that eejit's post, he is not alone, they are all gloating about poor attendances at all SPL games yesterday, also our european teams and low coefficient. They are all wishing every team out of europe which shows them up for what they are. I tried to respond on the Pravda page, but the new KGB (or is it EBT) editor does not allow free speech, unlike our ED007 who allows ex bears on here all the time.
They are afraid to be challenged on the truth. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - They only get on here if they are adding something worthwhile to the thread, there are still some of them that don't get it and try to post childish nonsense.}

Agree1 Disagree1

See this is the thing Shamrock...whatever happens to Scottish football will happen to them as well. For some reason they choose to completely miss that massive point.

If the TV deal and sponsorship dwiddles so does their income. If Scottish football dies, so do they (again)

They are full of big talk about we'll be back, for that they need a decent income and Scottish football alive.

At this moment, they are charging down a familiar road of bring players in they cannot afford and yet again bring Celtic's finances into their big talk. Has no-one learned from the fivers and tenners statement at all ? Mrs E

Agree3 Disagree1

ED007, I used to post on there regular for wind up as you know, I don't go on now anything like as much, but even when I post serious response to challenge something it never gets posted.
Never mind the truth will always come out. By the way ED007 what is situation with Bangura? I heard two different rumours, one he is away on loan to Utrecht and another he is injured and will be out until January are either true. Hail hail Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I don't know anything about the Utrecht thing Tim but his injury isn't serious.}

After all the talk of Ki I want to add my two cents. Ki is a great player. Technically quality. In the EPL he'll shine, might even end up at one of the big teams. The only reason I'd keep him is for Europe, and for the league, I'd rather have brown/wanyama/Kayal. Only for their physical nature and bravery in a tackle. Ki is a great player, no question. He just isn't cut out for Scottish football.

Message for troll POB....

You are like a guy in pub interrupting people trying to have a conversation.
So when are you going to apologise to all us Celtic fans for all the wrong doing your ex club has done?

Did you hear some of your ex clubs fans are even trying to claim titles during the war years, naughty naughty.

Then in 1957 when Celtic won 7-1 one of your "fair minded" fans at the
BBC "lost" the film of the 7-1 game to be shown that night.

Once a cheating club, always a cheating club....

POB here is song just for you...
Oh Hampden in the Sun
Celtic 7 Rangers 1
That was the score at Time Up
The TIMALLOYS had won the Cup.

If you want to learn any more Celtic songs to teach your grandchildren just let me know. hail hail Timalloy
