It was not provan because the trial was in edinburagh and had a jury full of locals who hate everything to do with the west coast, TV pictures show everything , police & stuards reported Lennon was struck and verbaly abused but hey as everything it was lennons fault.
Police will report to lennox town at 10:00 am tomorrow to arrest Neil Lennon who will appear in Edinburgh high court and be sentanced to 10 years for lifting his arms up after celtic score.
( How dare he )

The case was thrown out on a technicality, because the f**ny's got caught up in the whole sectarian s**t, and charged the looney with assault, motivated by sectarianism, and when lenny and thommo admitted that he hadn't said anything, then the whole charge had to go, and only the second charge of breach of the peace was left,
If they had just charged the thug with assault, he would have been jailed.
Agree0
Disagree0
That's a fact. People are so keen to push the whole sectarian thing it give the leagle eagles too many loop holes. Who cares why a fud hits you, just get him done for hitting you, job done...
Agree0
Disagree0
Hi lads, the sectarian element of the charge could have been removed as was the case with the breach of the peace3 charge. In fact according to the legal expert on BBC last night they did actually remove it from the charge and still found him not guilty !!! That is what i am amazed by but lets not think that this is the polices fault for chraging him with the sectarian element as this was a flexible/additional element to each charge.
The people to blame are quite simply the jury who as is stated are from the east coast and we can only presume that had some influence on their decision. Either that or the foreman was against the charges and influenced the rest of the jury accordingly (which is well known to happen in jury rooms where a strong character influences all others)

Was at the under 19s game tonight,
Celtic played really well in the first half and should never have been down 2-1 at half-time.
The young boy watt had a fantastic first half . celtic controlled a large part of the first half only for barca to score 2 break away goal.
Scond half was a different story , barca's young number 7 out in the wing was fantastic and was a stand out . barca killed the game early with a goal and celtic never really got into the game after that .
But i was happy with the way the bhoy's played for large parts of the game , the score never matched the game.
oh and i was talking with big david weir outside the ground , he went along to watch the game too.

Im not a Samaras fan but I believe that he stayed because he has a genuine affection for the club and that he wants to stay to try and win the fans over. Im not sayin he will do that but if there were better financial offers for him elsewhere then y else wud he have stayed?

Because the charge against this scumbag was assault with religious prejiduce. They cudn't prove that tho. If they had just gone for assault the moron wud have went to jail. He got off on a technicality.

Good evening bhoys and ghirls, whats the general opinon from yourselves on the closure of the transfer window?
I'm quietly confident we can win the league this year, Whyte didnt do anything for rangers after promising millions, and to be honest reducing the squad size by shipping players out and buying a striker and a loan deal lb, was a little dissappointed we didnt get the polish keeper but we'll see how Forster gets on this year, but all in all were moving in the right direction, hopefully transfer cash saved up for next window;-)Keir

is it just me or do u think ed, if strachan hadnt been so harsh on balde, he might still of been producing goods at parkhead? he is same age as desperate dan {Ed007's Note - Balde was harsh on Balde, and he is older than Majstorovic.}
Believable0
Unbelievable0
I liked Balde, thought his physical presence in defence was awesome,2002-3 was awesome, lost a bot of respect when he went to middlesborough for a medical just before closure of the window, if he hadnt been given that 4 year bumper contract im pretty sure it wouldnt have ended like it did with celtic trying to get him off the books, and hes a year older than majstorovic, keir {Ed007's Note - Balde in his prime was a great CB, what Majstorovic should be like IMO when you see his size etc.}

Ed could u tell me was it the money that sammy was being offered less than hes on at us,or do we owe him outstanding money,anywhichway he will be less respected than he already is,cant understand him.
cheers Monty. {Ed007's Note - Every player nowadays has a clause in their contract (called a loyalty bonus) that means they are due a certain percentage of their contract value if they are transferred without requesting it. Fabregas waived this at Arsenal to push his move to Barcelona through, but the player is entitled to the money. It seems it is over this that Samaras dug his heels in over.}
Believable2
Unbelievable0
So why wasn`t it paid? dont want to see him wear the hoops again, keir {Ed007's Note - Just my guess on it Keir, the board have thought because the wages were better he would have accepted a pay off of less than he was entitled to. Samaras has asked for the full amount and that has stalled any move, again just what I can make out of it all.}
Agree0

Thanks Ed,that disgusts me him taking our hard earned cash fans will despise him.
Agree0

All footballers are advised from a very young age on their earning potential and agents influence their behaviour as the more a player gets then as we know the agent gets more. This is a generalisation for everything to do with players and money. In any negotiation there is a power struggle (who has the biggest *****) Lawell does not get pushed around by anybody. What he loses on the swings he gains on the roundabouts. As for Samaras he will suffer for being so intransigent and given how he has been treated by Celtic (very well) he really should have been a big boy and taken on a new challenge. He may of course just be worried about being found out, although I think technically he is a very good player..tactically well we all know he is woeful.

What do Celtic have to get rid of Samaras. Is he staying just to annoy everyone. He obviously knows the fans cant stand him yet he wants to stay despite offers from Rennes & Blackburn 2 Big clubs. The guy obviously has no shame. Guess only CFC are to blame for giving the guy a contract on the back of one game. I just hate to see the money myself and all the other fans pay on ticket shirts etc line that guys pockets.

Do you believe that? think its called smoke and mirrors. Both clubs have been at it in recent times to an extent but if you can't see that Rangers have turned a lack of support for the manager into a "positive" by holding onto Jelavic you're niave. Celtic play the same games with vari9us tales of big names etc and deals for 4M strikers who apparently cant get visas (even without application). We both need to scrutinise our clubs more following last weeks debacle

I'm also delighted we haven't taken on another EPL reject with an over inflated ego and wage packet. Now let's all get together, cut out the negativity, get back that atmosphere from last seasons run in and bring the league title back home

The charge against the moron who attacked Lenny was assault with religious prejudice which means the two aspects of the charge has to be proved in order of a conviction. the first part is easily proved due to tv evidence. the second part of religious prejudice is more difficult to prove and as that part was not proven the jury has no option but to find him not guilty. the problem is not with the jury but with the police and prosecutors office for the way they worded the charge.if it had been just a straight forward assault charge he would have been found guilty.

Statement from Celtic:
"It is for the Jury to decide on this case, however, we find the accused 's acquittal of the charge of assault difficult to comprehend bearing in mind our knowledge of the incident.
"One thing is clear - this was a disgraceful incident involving Neil Lennon, seen by the world - the sort of incident which should not have happened in any football stadium and one which embarrassed Scottish football.
"Regardless of the verdict reached, we hope that people will learn from the events of last season and realise these cannot be repeated.
“As always we will give Neil Lennon our full support and hope that this season he can be given the opportunity to be allowed to do his job without the kind of threats, attacks and intimidation which have marred much of his time in Scotland."

The jury should hand their heads in shame. Finding someone not guilty when it is clear to 16,000 fans and everyone on the planet that Neil was clearly assaulted is appalling. If the sectarian issue was the problem then they should have just removed it from the charge as they did with the breach of the peace charge.
It really is incomprehensible that this was the outcome and god knows how Lenny must be feeling.
However we must rise above it and stand together as one behind our team and Neil, something inside so strong !

Hi Mate, your incorrect on that one as the jury had the option of dropping the religious prejudice element of the charge , exactly as they did with the breach of the peace element of the charge. Why didn't you give the full quote? yes their bags are packed, as are their clubs, because they're off on a club golfing holiday to Marbs (Marbella) along with others who are not on international duty.

If the Evening times is to be believed:
Celtic’s hopes of being reinstated in the Europa League are hanging in the balance after it emerged today there will be no binding ruling on the Sion situation until the end of next month.
Neil Lennon’s side were knocked out at the qualifying stage last week after losing 3-1 to Sion, but Parkhead chiefs have appealed to Uefa after the Swiss side fielded players subject to a transfer ban.
The Parkhead club could yet be reinstated in the competition, however, with Uefa threatening to throw Sion out of the Europa League if they are found guilty of breaking the rules.
The Court of Arbritation for Sport (CAS) is the ruling body in any such dispute and secretary general Mattieu Reeb admits there is unlikely to be a conclusion to the saga before the end of next month – two weeks after the group stage matches begin.
He said: “There is a case pending arbitration here – but there is no hope of a final decision before the end of September.
“There could still be something decided by Uefa this week. I understand they are planning to issue a decision.
“But the case could still come to us for arbitration later.
“There is an appeals process with Uefa first, then either Sion or Celtic could appeal to CAS and plead their case with us.
“I don’t see how it can be done by September 15, which of course is the date for the first round of Europa League games.
“We just have to wait for Uefa’s decision.
“After that, we could see more appeals by Sion or Celtic.”
If the case is still rumbling on by the time Sion’s group, which includes Athletico Madrid, Udinese and Rennes, kicks off, it could leave the competition descending into chaos.
Sion are due to face Madrid a fortnight tomorrow in Spain and to host Udinese on September 29 but, if Celtic are successful in their appeal and the Swiss side are thrown out of the competition, it could mean fixtures have to be replayed, with Lennon’s side taking Sion’s place in the competition.
No date has yet been set for the hearing that could yet only spark further controversy but a Uefa spokesman said: “The decision is expected before the beginning of the group stages.”
Uefa president Michel Platini and Fifa chief Sepp Blatter have both lent support to Celtic’s case by criticising Sion’s stance.

Liverpool & Celtic come to a historic and ground-breaking pay per minute agreement on sharing Craig Bellamy.
He does 2 x quick pre-match warm up laps at Celtic for the early punters with their flask and butties, then gets a helicopter to Anfield for his 2nd half game -changing subs appearance.

I really don't know why people take it as gospel because it is on SSN, how much of their 'Sky sources understand' stories actually come true? We had to add to our filter to block them from trying to get free advertising on the sites by posting odds etc a while back. Caught a few people out like that, Rangers 'warchest' anyone? I posted on Rangers that Michael Knighton was putting £15-20 million into Rangers blah blah, two days later it was in a newspaper up here that Craig Whyte was giving McCoist £15 million to spend on the team!! Just a wee thought about Bangura. Looking at his Utube and wiki page I reckon he's about on a par with Goodwillie. Would Most of us have preferred GW (not that he would have come) and if we had got GW would he have started ahead of Hooper and Stokes? In my opinion Bangura looks like back up . Good back up but still back up
David

My opinion Bangura better than Gw. Henrik heaped praise on Bangura and if he's good enough for Henrik then he's good enough for me. I honestly think this boy will light up the league and CP. I also thought his utube clips were pretty impressive as are his stats nearly 70 goals in just over a hundred games! He is only 22 remember Henrik joined us at aged 26 and only scored 12 goals in his first season. All Celts should be very pleased with NL backroom staff and the board for bringing this guy in. I think we can all be optimistic with this signing with very good reason.

Yes thats the point hendrik joined at 26 and only score 14 goals. I don't think we should expect this boy to hit the ground running and be first choice striker YET

The most important thing is the squad settles down and starts to improve performances on the pitch.
I doubt we will be invited back into Uefa league so we must dominate domestically NO EXCUSES!
By the way... Is anybody else peed off with that wee 'Budgie Heid' Harry Redknap?
