ED007, I posted a tongue in cheek post on Rangers site ( I know it is hard to believe ME? doing that) about Mr Whyte not paying the insurance policies of players.
Rangers ED001 replied: I know it was tongue in cheek mate, but I replied in case anyone BELIEVED you!
Ha ha It has made my night that even Rangers editor thinks his bears are so so GULLIBLE hail hail Timalloy (fearless teller of the truth)

Hay ed. This guy Aluko ed has me really worried I remember him in the 9-0 game against Aberdeen. He was by far there best player he touch the ball once I think it was tip off and then was sub in the 35 min but al never forget that touch it was masterclass of a kick off. Lol bigirishmac.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

One touch more than the rest of the muppets that lay down (as per usual) that day. Probably subbed for going against team orders and touching the ball.
KINGBEAR {Ed007's Note - So the guy you just signed is a muppet that lay down to CFC. You must be delighted with that news?}

Agree0 Disagree2

Read it through again. It says "one touch more than the rest of the muppets that lay down THAT DAY"
KINGBEAR {Ed007's Note - So they were all muppets that lay down apart from him? I remember now, loads of Rangers fans said that at the time now you mention it. His 35 mins on the park were outstanding, questioning why he was subbed as he was their best player etc. Got you now.}

Agree0 Disagree2

Hay ed they will have young aluko paying the tax bill haha. Why don't the rangers team not release a charity single and all the funds could go to themselfs haha. Bigirishmac

Agree1 Disagree0

You finally get it then. Put it this way. You've got it for 1 team and I another. You, like myself can't help who you support. May the best team win....
KINGBEAR

Agree0 Disagree0

Was Aluko, as an attacking player, not sacrifised for a defender due to Paul Hartley's deliberate straight red card?

Agree3 Disagree0

Yea thats a belter Bigirishmac(sarcasticly). Id rather they done a charity singles for a real and worthwhile causes like the cancer charities,unicef and erskine charities that we have raised cash for in the past few seasons.

The last thing NL wants to do in a very difficult period like this is noise-up the support when they voice their frustration after a game that should have been 'put to bed' by Half Time.
All season we have failed to hammer teams when we have been well on top so it was not a one-off.
A mixture of ridiculous defending and poor finishin have been too familiar and was the main reason we were seruggling in 3rd place not so long ago.
Yes we seem to be making progress - at last - but the frustrations and nervousness of the fans is still evident because we expect so much better especially at home against clubs in the bottom half.
We have played some better stuff in patches recently but I feel we still need to sharpen up more before the next OF game and go for the jugular.

In the interests of fair play, as all us Tims are, can I say Mr Whyte if you switch to a Tesco mobile phone for every £10 top up they give you £20, I know you are counting every penny just now so hope this advice helps. LOL Timalloy

Believable4 Unbelievable2

The fact of the matter is mate he wants to play and win medals and help the champions retain their title,the same as Diouf , beattie ,wiess and all the other duds we had last season who have league winners medals , also it shows me that the on the day celtic sign a DEFENDER the champions go out and get a FORWARD whilst top of the league on points , goal difference and still not lost a game this season in the league, another point mate managers should not argue with upset home supporters because ultimately it will be the supporter who wins. Aluko pays to play for Rangers and Broonie your captain wont sign for yous and commit himself , Happy days enjoy the banter mate. {Ed007's Note - He didn't pay to play for Rangers. Rangers weren't willing to meet Aberdeen's valuation so he was either not worth it to Rangers, or they couldn't afford it. There is no other rational explanation.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Circus only comes twice a year mate.at xmas,and then around 12th july

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think it's anything to do with Rangers not rating him or not being able to afford him. It was down to principle. Why pay ANYTHING for a free agent?

I understand there is a daft compensation rule for training and developing....but Aberdeen didn't really devlop him. They signed him as a first team player and was a first team player his whole time at Aberdeen so, realistically he was already a developed player when he signed for Aberdeen.

TonyTheGer {Ed007's Note - Whether daft or not, it is still an SPL rule. The money had to be paid or Aberdeen could have with held his registration. Rangers knew that they would have to pay the compensation or go to a tribunal who would set a fee. If they didn't know I would be questioning the Director of Football's ability. Especially as he is an ex agent, he should know every rule/loophole going.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it is still a rule and rules are there to be obeyed. But, I think Rangers done the right thing in fighting to pay a lesser fee. He was signed as a first team player, I just don't see how that rule comes into play for a player who is a first team regular from the day he signs. The rule in general, for any other player who is a free agent, is rather daft in my eyes. {Ed007's Note - It makes no difference what he was bought as. It is all down to his age, even in the first team Aberdeen were developing his career. Say Wanyama had only signed a two year contract at CFC, he looks a great prospect and should be a first team regular or there abouts, but could walk away for nothing in two years? Surely being at CFC has helped his development and he could be worth say £4-5 million if he progresses. Why should CFC develop young players just to let them leave for nothing, it would destroy the youth system at every club all over Europe. The ruling was brought in to protect clubs against spending time and money on young players only for them to walk away for nothing and counteract the Bosman ruling. If he had went to an English team the fee is set at £180,000(??) because it is a cross border move, but up here there is no set figures in the rules. It is like Feruz leaving CFC, we got £180,000(again ??) when he moved to Chelsea. Put the shoe on the other foot mate, if a young Rangers player was out of contract, after the club developing him, spending time and money on him, paying him, and everything else and he was just going to walk away, would you be happy? It is immaterial if Aberdeen bought him as a first team player, reserve player or what ever, they were still entitled to the money. The big teams in England are starting to use it to their advantage a lot more now. Fabregas and Pique are perfect examples. Arsenal and United bought them for buttons (compensation) from Barca youth, developed them and then sold them back to them at a huge profit.}

Is it just me or does anyone else think the the other mob are getting a bit over excited about signing an Aberdeen reject?

Ed do you know when we can expect to hear an outcome to the hearing, i believe its taking place at the minute? {Ed007's Note - Sometime this evening meant to be, the hearing was scheduled to start at one o'clock.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can't help but notice some negative comments appearing on this page with regards to the Champions signing Sone Aluko. I wouldn't expect them to be positive right enough, but I wouldn't say , (how did you put it) my "mob" were getting over excited about it. Am I deteting a hint of jealousy from you Mr/Mrs annonymous. He is a welcome edition to our squad who gives us another option on the park. IF he does his bit in turning your "LOT" over on the 28th Dec, you will all be eating your words. Good Luck Sone . WATP
KINGBEAR

Agree3 Disagree1

Ther was me thinkin that he was one of if not the best aberdeen players last year and knocked them back to try and win a contract at Juve?!
However i aint seen too many posters talking about how he is an excellent signing, but gers need a player to play on the tight with pace which he has, he has shown already that he can cut the SPL, he really impressed by all accounts in the bounce game against St Mirren and he is young. Useful is the word i might use. But as the previous poster said keep talking cos there is a chance it could come back to bite ye.

Germinator

Agree3 Disagree0

Before any of you call the grammar police, I meant to say DETECTING a hint of jealousy? Also he's a welcome ADDITION to our squad . My bad.
KINGBEAR {Ed007's Note - Don't worry about it. I don't post anything slagging spelling or grammar. It is childish and could people off posting. As long as it is eligible and we know what you mean it is fine.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Kingbear, see you paid Aberdeen £100k for him two things firstly hope Aberdeen got money up front with whyte's track record of non payment and second that is your ENTIRE transfer budget spent for next 5 years LOL Timalloy
PS Mind the Gap our superior intelligence over all you bears

Agree0 Disagree0

Sone Aluko wasn't good enough for Birmingham, Aberdeen, Blackpool, Juventus or Leicester City! Yet you can spend £100k on him.......yeah bring on the 28th!

DazzaBhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

One question , why are you worrying about Aberdeen getting paid? There is me thinking you were a c***ic fan. As far as I am aware,Aluko was so eager to join the Champions he paid the compensation out of his own pocket. Make of that what you will! But I await your usual nonsensical reply along financial lines.
KINGBEAR {Ed007's Note - He contributed towards the payment, I wouldn't brag about that mate. Rangers obviously didn't think he was worth the compensation Aberdeen were looking for or they couldn't afford it. Aberdeen got their money and Rangers didn't pay it all, those are the only two viable options, he wasn't worth it to them or they didn't have it.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Not bragging about it at all,as I said make of it what you will. IMO why pay a training compensation for a player that has been out of contract since july? Correct me if Im wrong but Aberdeen didnt think he was worth a better contract so they release him,i.e. not their player.Then someone comes in for him and all of a sudden he's theirs again. Silly situation if you ask me.

Agree1 Disagree0

Mate im certainly not jealous of you signing an aberdeen reject, as you say only time will tell

As you seem to have an issue with me not leaving an identifier i will do so from now on

JGD

Agree0 Disagree0

DazzaBhoy,

Exactly...£100k. He will be an impact player. Rangers haven't said they are signing him as our secret weapon to win the league. He is cover for Naismith. He is experienced in the SPL and will do a job.

Kelvin Wilson and Adam Matthews weren't good enough for their clubs before they signed for Celtic. Nobody slaughtered them.

Hay ed happy with the 3 points. Very strange game. Great attacking display but the finishing let us down. Stokes should of taken the peno the mans on form. Think the fans who get on the bhoys back should take a good look at themselves. They make bhoys panic when there groaning and moaning it dosent help at all ur doing is just putting more pressure on the players. Anyway points on the board is what matters. P.s. Has wee James have a Irish granny? Only joking :0p bigirishmac. {Ed007's Note - I'm happy with the result, 3 point is 3 points BIM.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No chance. The team played great in the first half and the fans gave them great praise but at the end of the day the players were shocking in the second half and brought the pressure on themselves by not taking their chances. We should have been celebrating an easy win but instead ended up biting our fingernails as they let the opposition back into the game yet again. Some fans are far too critical and just love to complain but the team and Lenny can't expect us to react well to that awful second half performance.

Iam sure I read last week that FIFA stepped in and it was kicked out of court. A higher Court than previously. {Ed007's Note - It is the hearing with the CAS today. After looking at the European results and the tables, does it not strike anybody that the rest of Europe have caught up with the EPL teams now and no one is afraid to go to Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge etc. 3 seasons ago it was a gaurantee at least 2 EPL teams would make the semi finals. Now there is a real possibility that only Arsenal will make the last 16. Is this the slow demise of the EPL. Lets hope so and we can get back to the working mans game. This years winners can only be Barcelona or Real Madrid with Bayern a wee outside bet with the Bundesliga back up their as one of the worlds top leagues.

I have never been a big fan of Lennon as manager but I will give him some credit he has done better than I thought he would. Team can be a bit 1 dimensional at times. But I will give him credit for some of his signings he seems to beable to get the up and coming young players to come to Glasgow. Ledley, Wilson, Adams, Wanyama now the youngster Lustig all have been chased after by EPL teams and they have all chose Celtic over EPL or other European teams.

So credit were it is due Lenny keep it up with the youngsters team for the long term in the making.

Celtic banter section.

Fantastic performance... for 86 minutes (read on). Could've and should've been far more than two. Credit to Dunfermline for bringing on the nervy last 10 mins or so - the striker's finish was top notch and they in truth contained our attacking play reasonably well even if we probably should've scored more and if there was an element of fortune with our poor finishing.

However my main reason for posting is my concern at the composure and concentration levels of the team after we conceded. Sure, we should've been more than 2 up, and we were cruising, but regardless the defending and positioning was absolutely woeful after they scored and every side should know that 2-0 is still a fragile lead. I was begging for someone just to take charge, keep their calm, keep the ball and let the formation settle. Instead we just punted the ball 50 yards forward and gave them another opportunity to attack all the while keeping our positioning and calmness completely awry. We're pretty woeful defensively this season, but good in the midfield, and the team surely have to have identified that enough not to just gift the opposition the ball but rather keep possession the midfield where our strength probably lies.

This really, really, really (as an effing priority) needs to get sorted out. These situations could be the difference between a win and a point, especially in Europe or against more threatening SPL sides, and especially away from home (as fair enough Dunfermline caused a panic but didn't exactly threaten once they'd scored, but better teams probably would punish us).

Although I rate most of the midfield and don't think it needs any great deal of work in the transfer market it's perhaps evidence that we need an older, more experienced head in there even to throw in off the bench when a goal could potentially change the game. Someone of even the Hartley or Robson type ilk of more recent times might've helped the team settle and keep their cool.

Kayal is my personal choice for captain as I feel he has the balance of quality and influence in terms of talking to players throughout the game, but like Brown has too much fire in the belly and is still a young player who'd be prone to panicking and making rash challenges in the heat of the moment. Wouldn't mind seeing us bring in a more experienced centre mid on the cheap for situations like tonight to just as a calming influence.

Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Some good thoughts, however Kayal for Captain? not in a million years. He is neither mature enough nor committed enough to the Club. I was behind the goal last night at the Rangers end and my Goodness (and I hate to say it) the big man is not good enough. He cannot make a decision and he is far too hesitant. Yes he pulled off a couple of good saves but so did the Dunfermline goalie (grinds teeth) and the Dunfermline goalie although a pain in the **** with all his pointing and complaining was to my mind better than Forster. I know Forster is young and its a big deal playing at Celtic Park but come on there has to be better out there. I defended him in the past and hoped he would be good enough but it appears never will as he is just not confident or commanding enough. Wanyama is a player ( outstanding athlete) and Matthews although a little inconsistent is a little under rated. Forrest was very good and stokes coming from deep was impressive. Hooper to me is not mobile enough and poor with his back to goal but hes a decent player and took his goal very well. All in all Lenny must be pleased but it should've been 5 last night.

We definitely need a leader on the park. Kayal is never a leader, he is a good player, but as soon as he starts relaxing we get in trouble. We are a young team and need an experienced leader, unfortunately Majstoravic is not that man.Somebody in the mould of Richard Dunne is what we need.
A good 3 points last night, and i thought Wanyama, Forest,and Stokes were our best players. Hail Hail.
