ED007 not a Celtic question but I know you like Real Madrid, watching Spanish games tonight and press conference Mourinho gave, he defended some players after Barca defeat but not others, some of the Spanish players went to the press and leaked arguments. apparently one was about Casillas the goalie who heard Jose complain about him from 30 metres away and Casillas apparently told Mourhino to "talk to his face" I know Spain/Portugal are big rivals but is it the same as England/Scotland as some of the Spanish players are now openly saying he favours his own Portuguese players best. Is this the start of Real unrest! Timalloy {Ed007's Note - It's not the start of any unrest Tim, it has been going on for a while. A few players don't get on with each other and The Boy O's ego is running amok, supposedly him and Higuain do not get on at all (although both players deny it). These stories got out and that is why Ronaldo was booed by the Madrid fans. The Spain v Portugal thing doesn't really matter much nowadays. It all stemmed from the Portuguese Revolution in 1640 against the duel Spanish/Portuguese monarchy, this sparked the Portuguese Restoration War which ran from 1640 (obviously) until the Treaty of Lisbon in 1668. There :-)

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Was on Man Utd site last wk and they wer saying Ronaldo is unhappy and spent most of Xmas holidays wiv his family and didn't want to leave home .Man City are probably the only team who could afford him now but I think he would only want to sign for one team .Watching El Classico the other nite he seemed to me very subdued and lost looking ,maybe playing for a little runt of a manager who IMO breeds cheats doesn't appeal to him.I was always a critic of Ronaldo but now maybe he is maturing as a man and a player and knows he should have stayed with a team and manager who appreciated him..........DH

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm sure there was a post on here the other week saying that he had a 1 billion buy out clause or something?

Ps ed watch the utd game last night, fair play to giggs btw in his mid/late 30s ? Still a good player. How long had evra been there ? Must be near to 8-9 years ? Also how's 18m goalie on the bench ? Is he living up to the type or just over rated ?

Lenny {Ed007's Note - Your right about Ronaldo's buy out clause Lenny. Evra joined United in January 2006 for £5.5 million. De Gea is waiting to get an operation on his eyes, he plays with contact lenses in just now plus he is on a special diet/training regime to bulk him up a bit. His mammy is staying with him now as well to do his cooking etc according with the club's guidelines for him.}

A wee question for you ed.Since Chelsea started spending big 10 years ago can you think of any player they have made a profit on?I've been racking my brain and all i can think of are them paying high purchase prices then them selling them at a massive loss.Maybe our fellow Tims can help me out?

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - Arjen Robben was bought for £12.1 million from PSV and sold to Real Madrid for £24 million, that is the only one of the top of my head JB.}

Arjeb Robben i remember when he played for Chelsea and he was only 22 he looked about 45
i thought
he must have had one tough paper round when he was 14 lol

Bhaldrick {Ed007's Note - He only turns 28 tomorrow mate lol. He was at Chelsea between 2004-07. A very money orientated and greedy player, he is reported to be earning 114,500 Euros a week at Munich from wages alone.}

Evening ed,

Long time since I posted, but been reading some of the posts that people been writing its getting out of hand big style, yeh there's going to be rumours but some of the stuff has been laughable.

The only thing am concerned about with this transfer window is getting big Forster signed up, confidence is a massive thing but always been on his side but always been honest if mistakes have been made.

I don't care who comes in but the business which has been done so far has been good and I have total confidence in or scouts n Lennon so pretty happy.

Bit disappointed in the Jorge Claros saga now on trial and rangers after Celtic being heavily linked with him until he was shot, but unless he has been effected by it why are we not going back in for him and letting them get first refusal of a player we scouted first, or maybe am over reacting and Celtic have pulled out because of something, but my fear is he signs with them and causes us issues would be really disappointing.

Cumby Bhoy {Ed007's Note - Hi Cumby mate, nice to hear from you. I'm glad Forster is winning people over, if we sign him up we have a good young keeper who can only get better IMO.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

As for Claros, the last thing we need is for another central midfielder. Besides which after we dropped our interest I think we signed Wanyama. Its all worked out for the best.

Evening Ed and all. not posted in a while hope everyone has been good, although after this weekend i think youl be hard pressed to find a sad hoops fan!

gotta feel sorry for you Ed at this time of year with all the crap posted on here, does give us punters a giggle though.

Anyways, gotta take my hat off to a certain Scott Brown for yesterday, yes his passing still aint upto much but i thought he had one of his best games for us yesterday, taking on players for fun at times, breaking up play and scoring a great goal, the most captain like performace i can remember from him and i have been a big critic of his in the past.

Bit disappointed with the papers this week though, it is silly season but how many times do journos have to be told by Lennon that no bids for our top players will be listened too unless it is for silly money!?? these people need a new job i think maybe scraping barrels at a keg factory ... oh wait they already do that in their current jobs, well experience counts in jobs these days!

Im pleased with the signings at Celtic this month, guys who are young, hungry and have something to prove and not for much of an outlay so if it goes bellly up we are not losing too much. Still want a striker and a good ball playing centre half to replace Loovens and put pressire on Rogne and Mulgrew. Oh and a decent striker.

Im not entirley convinced we need a huge lumbering forward to houff the ball upto just someone adept at putting the thing in the back of the net to provide support and cover to hooper and stokes. I know these guys always do well in the SPL amd having another option available is always good, i would like to see a right pacey forward who is a good finisher as although stokes and hooper are good they aint that quick. just my opinion though.

Right gonna stop my break from the site has not diminished my need for mammoth posts lol

here's one to get the minds in overdrive

players we tried to sign and they went elsewhere.
for me it has to be David Ginola
that night at Celtic Park PSG gave one of the best displays an away team in Europe ever has at our ground.
i think it was Mark Mcnally at full back that night and it must have taken him 6 month to untie his legs after it

some of the celtic fans on here are on the rangers page 24/7 shooting down players that we could maybe try go in for saying we have no money and the wages will be a prob etc. but im reading on here people talking about gettin cisse defoe etc its actually unbelievable how funny it is.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I'll try and make this easy for you to follow as its neither unbelievable nor funny.

Your club have previous for not paying for stuff, which leads to banter regarding Rangers ability to sign players and pay wages.

Our club have previous for subsidising unlikely loan deals for big name players who aren't featuring (for various reasons) at their clubs, leading to banter amongst Celtic fans regarding who we might sign next.

Defoe, a Spurs CF not featuring much, joining Celtic on loan? Sounds unlikely to me although the story sounds familiar, can't think why..........

Had to laugh at the knuckledraggers insisting Celik's shirt name be Marven.....pathetic! lol

Miko x

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Totally pathetic but expected.their bitterness has no end.

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes.....but no. If, for example, we signed Nile Ranger would most of us be happy if he played with Ranger on his back? I suspect most wouldn't and the shop wouldn't get too many requests for shirts either. I know Cellik is a bit different, and is probably pronounced more like Chellik, but it's the same principle.

Agree1 Disagree2

Na, if a Ranger wanted to play for the Celts, I'd be delighted! Even better if he managed to score against them.

Miko x

Agree3 Disagree1

Honestly?i think we would think that was hilarious.never happen though.nile ranger is s**te.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair to Whytey this is actually very sound financial decision making.

Mervan has one more letter than Celik so assuming the new boy will have to pay to letter up his own shirt, Rangers are already 17% up on original income estimates on shirt sales.

With this kind of thinking he could be up for some sort of Financial award in 2012.

Ed....no need to snap at people for asking a question about potential new recruits. I understand you're fed up with the same old question but they're only asking, that's all.
I see that you make occasional reference to a player who may be available on loan for now and is based in Europe. Why don't you just say who you think it is? Those comments would suggest you're thinking of one player in particular. It's only a rumour after all, until it's a done deal or otherwise, so you won't be breaching any confidences. If you can't do that then please go easy on people who mention a name even if it has already been mentioned before. Not everyone will read every post in the last 2 or 3 days. I know it's different for you because you're answering them all but that's not the case for us fans who just read when we can.

HAIL HAIL
ChrisBhoy {Ed007's Note - If people want to use Twatter that is up to them. Us editors have better things to do with our time than answer endless streams of nonsensical questions about players that are mentioned on there. I have no idea who is saying what so how can I comment on anything on it? Ask the people that are saying it, I can't answer for someone I don't know.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed, I'm not suggesting you comment on other people's thoughts or any rumours on t**tter/twitter or wherever. If you don't know anything just say "I don't know" but don't snap at them. I think you're usually spot on with your assessment of situations but on this occasion I think you are wrong. I was asking you to comment on your own info about a Bundesliga player. If you can't do that for whatever reason then so be it. People don't snap at you because you won't say more on the topic so please don't be aggressive with people who ask simple questions. As a moderator of a site you know that you aren't only going to get questions that you like.

HAIL HAIL
ChrisBhoy {Ed007's Note - If you don't think people snap at me or I don't get abuse you really need your eyes open. My whole point is that I can not comment on what other people are saying and I will say it again, I am NOT here to answer endless questions about something I have not said, question the person that said it. Surely if you use Twatter then you believe what is on it, seems a bit pointless to see something on it then question it right away does it not? You posted moaning about why one of your posts didn't get posted about the EPL. Did you even bother to look through the site or is your HRT playing up and you just want to moan about anything?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I think you've got the wrong person. I didn't complain about a post about the EPL not being posted.....and whilst I have a t**tter/Twitter account I don't use it for anything. :-(

You clearly HAVE got out of bed on the wrong side today! :-( {Ed007's Note - My humble apologises Chris, it was Craigybhoy that posted it and then moaned and asked if I was even a CFC fan (the post was on the banter page), I knew it began with a 'C'. Sorry about that.}

22 Jan 2012 13:02:43
Hi Ed. i am fed up hearing comments about our players not being worth much more than 4 or 5 million because we play in a poor league. Point 1. EPL most over rated in the world. How many times have we seen three EPL teams in the semi final of the CL final and the one that is from another country go on to win the tournament. Point 2. In the last 20 years 2 EPL teams have won the champions league. Oh and this year the 2 biggest clubs are in the uefa cup. In my opinion it is far from the best. it has alot of money due to sky. Who are selling a product ie the EPL. Budisliga, Spanish league, and Seria A are all far better and more successfull. So when EPL clubs are splashing all the money from sky they can pay the going rate if Carroll is worth 35m then at least 15m for Hooper because we play in a poor league. 20 mil kayal far better than Carick. oh and if Man City can pay 6m for a striker from the dutch league all our top stars are wortrh at least 12m each. Btw that striker was Samarass. really hope you post this Ed cheers Craigy bhoy

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Craigybhoy: the epl is a perfect example of style over substance and slick marketing but i think sky(sorry ed!) might be killing english football in general.take the euro's this summer,the usual shouts of "were gonna win it" will start,all because they have"the best league in the world" they dont.for me the spanish,portugese,n german are all better quality of football.the best players in england are all from abroad n u can see from the empty seats ppl are gettin fed up watching teams with no chance of winning anything.i dnt even watch the big games live anymore cos invariably they are mostly boring. n dont even start me about transfers! green jhedi

I think Craigby bhoy was basing his valuations on that rubbish.
Try re-evaluating on the match that's on now, cos this is light years ahead of SPL tbh.
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - I'd take Balotelli in a heartbeat KB, he is a fantastic player.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not having a pop kb cause you do seems a good guy on here post sence etc.

Liverpool have spend went over 100m & what's the most they will get this year? Your right spl record in Europe ? And good example with f1 to f3 ? But if you gave the spl or in this matter Celtic & rangers 100m transfer kitty for a season they would be chasing the top 4 easy ? And for that reason that why the EPL don't want us?

Don't want to seem like I'm having a pop mate like a say but you do seem a good guy on here.

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh oh ed, not a bad shout there lad. He's just won the game for City !
No offence taken at all Craigy bhoy, it's all banter and there's some good stuff on here.
I personally would love to see The Old Firm in the Prem, but you're not. So the prices your players can bring in the transfer market reflects the SPL.
I agree there are massive over-valuations in the EPL but there's still some deals to be had as well.
But it's a ****ing rip-off for the supporters mate, I'll say that much. That's why it's hyped so much, cos it's a gravy train.
