Just been reading Joe Allen has signed for Liverpool for £15 mill and a £2 mill signing on fee . We must not sell Big Vic or Ki on the cheap if the EPL come knocking.......DH
Hear what your saying mate but Spl is not rated high enough To command High fees like that.It's just the same as us buying Wanyama,kayal, and izzy from teams in lesser divisions...we don't want to pay to much incase they don't make the grade. I have no doubt he will be a success down there but realistically we should want around £10m + add ons and a sell on clause. When you think what Hutton, boumsong etc went for and did nothing down there.

Hutton had a good season and a half up here and boumsong was good for the short time he was here but both got found out down there. That's why I don't think epl teams would pay top money for spl players again.

I think this was the best draw for us, the other clubs and the climate might have made it harder for us but maybe this could be a good turn of fortune for once lol, let's hope if we go through that the next draw is kind to us unlike how it was in the Europa group last year. I can see this being great for us because we will most likely have big larsson in the stands and maybe give us that little extra to go through with the good memories of the club back then and what they did for us. Can't wait!

So a wee trip to Sweden it is then, bhoys do you think they will use the king of kings as their spy ha ha.
Tomorrows game against Real Madrid we could do without, and I said so weeks ago, we are going there tired and after 10 hour flight playing a team who seem to be in form. I think we should be prepared for another defeat. But look at all the doom and gloom after our poor preseason results, all a distant memory now. My only concern is if we get beaten heavily, it could affect morale.
I hope Lawwell now plays fair with the Celtic fans and releases cash for
the centre half and centre forward Celtic badly need. Timalloy

So it's Helsingborgs...don't think it's too bad a draw seeing as we have apparently already been scouting a couple of their players so might know a bit about how they play.
Also think we'll adapt better than to one of the hotter countries and it helps that we've just won in Finland already so will know what to expect from the football style and environment!

Surely with drawing Helsinborg the board will see this as the ideal opportunity to almost guarantee champions league football by buying a couple of players. If we spend £5m combined on a couple of players then surely we would reap the financial rewards in the group phase. Dont think we will ever have a better chance in getting there than now.
