O'Riley won't be sold in this window, he will be gone in the summer with Bernardo being his replacement in the team.
We will then bring in a similar deal to Bernardo.

Fair enough point Henke but we've been crying out for a decent defensive mid for ages. Having too many players who are nice on the ball and not enough defensive nous has seen us off in Europe lately. Imagine O'Riley goes for £25M and we pick up Bernardo for for roughly £5/ 6M. That gives us a right good £15M or so to put towards a quality CDM, LB and GK. The big issue is whether the club are actually willing to reinvest the money.

I'm leaning towards being happy with us signing Bernardo Kev. The end of the season will paint a better picture on that. And I totally agree about a CDM. I'm not against this buzz word 'projects' either, we need to be more accute with them though, whilst at the same time see first team players replaced by first team players. Not ones that will take a season to settle, develop, then sell. One step backwards one step forwards. Rinse and repeat.

100% mate, every team needs development players. The problems come when the squad is overloaded with them.

Kevbhoy, you are 100% right . If we sign the right project Players, they should by their 2 nd season reach a higher level than many of our oven ready players.
