Reading on a few sites about ben davies and the possibility of him being loaned out next season when all the big guns come back, my question would you want him now?

No! We need people who will be here 3 years from now not short term loans unless they are young and can be signed for a longer period.

I agree about trying to avoid more loans unless it's an emergency. Over the years we have went through some amount of 'traffic' - especially in long-term problem defensive areas repeatedly; so I hope the new manager builds a team of committed permanent signings.
