Think Scales getting new contract is a great bit of business.

Scales has been a near ever present this season and he will be one of the main reasons, if we manage to retain our title.

According to Salary Sport,
Scales is on £5k a week basic, which is well below average for a player getting a regular start in our 1st team.

Scales deserves to triple his wages and he will be great cover for left CB and our left back positions.

Scales is a better option than Welsh and Kobayashi, plus Lagerbielke won't be sticking around. Definitely a very capable squad player but we need a solid CB to come in. Either that or Nawrocki steps up a few gears in pre-season.

Nawrocki is basically still of an an unknown quality, he hasn’t played enough full games to prove he is a. Celtic player.
Scales has shown time and time again that he wants to be the Celtic cb . He tries harder than most and I too don’t think we would be in as strong a position as we are to win SPL without Liam Scales.

Good squad player Scales, but we should aim higher than that. Question is will we raise the bar with the mediocre defenders we need to try to move on firstly?

As long as he's backup and not first choice along with CCV for the next 4 years.
We definitely need someone in the Starfelt, Jozo or Denayer mould to play beside CCV.

Scales probably deserves his new contract although I wasn't bothered either way if he signed it or not and with Taylor in his last year I feel the same. Both good enough to sit on the bench but I don't expect either of them to be starting next season ideally.

Ed was saying on another post that it could be Rocky can't get/ stay fit despite the best efforts of the coaches etc which could explain the bit part he's played this season, alongside Scales.

Just on Scales, I agree with Buzz, a Celtic first team regular should be on more than 5k a week and he has earned his new contract imo but I think we'll splash out on a CB, Im predicting we buy a more expensive CB than Julien. That could be wishful thinking but I am hoping to see money used wisely but not too reservedly but finding the balance at those kinds of fees is difficult but every transfer is a gamble!
