SMSM reporting KT is a target for Leicester. Who the f*ck does BR think he's dealing with? KT is a true Celtic man and bleeds Green and white. Genuinely appalled at the audacity of some people.

1.) 27 Feb 2019 13:18:30
Haha its funny, the minute BR was leaving reports that Arsenal were going to match our valuation. the rags are hoping we implode and players only stayed because of BR. This bhoy is Celtic through and through, he bleeds green and white and as I've said before is destined for far bigger things than the pub league especially LCFC.

2.) 27 Feb 2019 13:24:42
I'm pretty certain BR hasn't said he's a target. Just the Smsm making rubbish up as usual.

3.) 27 Feb 2019 15:32:34
I’m not so sure now tbh. He hardly distances himself when linked with Everton, by all accounts he was willing to consider it. If Brendan who loves the club can leave then I’m sure Tierney can too.
£25m would be great return for a Scottish player who has more than his fair share of injuries.

4.) 27 Feb 2019 16:18:49
More than his fair share of injuries? You a bun on the windup?

5.) 27 Feb 2019 18:32:29
Leicester have an England international play ing lb just now more paper crap.

6.) 28 Feb 2019 08:48:41
so 2 points about this thread.

RDB21, you say Tierney is a true celtic man ( which i agree ) but im sure you were all saying the smae about Brenda the last couple years? if celtic are offered 25m for him he will be off. can quadruple his wages and play in one of the best leagues in the world. he's done all he will at celtic, nothing else for him to win

mally, yes they do have an engladn international at LB but he is being touted for a move in the summer.

Just seen a report saying we're linked with Alex Neil. I feel that would be a massive step back, even from RD but I'd be interested to see what others think.

1.) 04 Mar 2019 19:01:38
Would have rd. back in a second.

2.) 04 Mar 2019 19:14:18
Marco Rose is supposed to be a candidate.

3.) 04 Mar 2019 19:14:56
RD is a lot better than Alex Neil. If these are names we are being linked with, Lennon is far better.

{Ed007's Note - Id rather have Moyes that Neill.}

4.) 04 Mar 2019 19:34:20
Isn’t Marco rose got a 40 million pound buy out clause?

5.) 04 Mar 2019 19:56:03
Unlikely with 12 months left on contract.

6.) 04 Mar 2019 20:44:09
I would stick with Lenny.
Going for 9 and 10 in a row is not the time to start making drastic changes.
The foundations are already in place, so just play it safe and our leader will make sure that the players give 100 percent to the cause.

7.) 04 Mar 2019 20:45:28
Rose not tipped for hoffenhien job.

8.) 04 Mar 2019 22:41:02
I am not too sure about a foreign manager for Celtic . This summer is too important to get it right to experiment by employing someone from a foreign land.

16 Jan 2019 18:56:46
I know some people were talking about jersey numbers for the new bhoys and have just seen on the official site that Burke will wear 25, Weah got 30 but nothing on Bayo. Personally, I don't think it means much but if Weah was going to be an 18 month, think we would have offered 7 or 10. Those numbers mean a lot at paradise and at psg.

1.) 16 Jan 2019 21:35:40
Keeping 7 for Paddy coming back in the summer I heard 😉.

2.) 16 Jan 2019 22:08:31
What’s all this who will be wearing this number or that one, they can wear number 500 as far as I’m concerned as long as they do the business. oldkilly.

13 Dec 2018 18:24:50
Bhoys and ghirls, I am about to attend my first ever European night at paradise! Absolutely buzzing and hoping for a good performance and progression. COYBIG!

10 Sep 2018 11:31:36
What's everyone's thoughts on Agbonlahor saying he wants to play for Celtic? Would you take him?

I think he would be a great addition. I think he would play well as part of a 2 up top, similar to the way Giroud plays for France. Obviously not the same quality but could do a turn up here.

1.) 10 Sep 2018 11:53:52
Nah don't think he's needed.
Also he looks like he needs to lose about a stone and has no pre season.
Go with what we have till January IMO.

2.) 10 Sep 2018 12:25:41
Aye get him in short term pay as you play deal. Cover is needed there with the amount of games we have coming up.

3.) 10 Sep 2018 13:11:19
The photo a seen he looked more than a stone overweight. Let him train for a bit with us n see how it goes at the most.

4.) 10 Sep 2018 14:02:41
He isn't any better than Charlton Cole.

5.) 10 Sep 2018 14:16:36

6.) 10 Sep 2018 15:00:13
Think that's maybe a bit unfair mate, Cole was well over the hill and was never that good to begin with. Agbonlahor has been a pretty consistent performer for Villa over the years and still has a few miles left, I'd say.

I can see the point of him not having a pre season but as pointed out, we've got Griff and French Eddy fit right now which would give him time to get up to speed. If BR could get a season half as good as SS's first season, I'd have him in a heartbeat.

7.) 10 Sep 2018 15:53:57
Rd21 don't talk nonsense.

Cole signed for us at 32.
The season before he signed he played 32 games for West ham scoring 3 goals.
Season before that it was 30 games and 6 goals

Gabby is 32 next month
Last season he played 6 and scored 1.
Season befor that he played 14 and scored 1

Cole has 86 goals in 397

Gabby has 86 goals in 401

Cole 8 caps

Gabby 3.

So like I said he's not any better than cole.

{Ed007's Note - Those stats are atrocious 😂😂

8.) 10 Sep 2018 16:32:03
For someone who was talked up so much as a kid he didn't amount to much did he? From what I remember he was rapid but that was about it, let the people sign dross like that, we can and should do much better.

9.) 10 Sep 2018 16:29:16
A career of 1 goal every 5th game and people would sign him for us.
We'd be better signing Robbie Keane or get Larsson to put on his boots again ed.

10.) 10 Sep 2018 16:42:03
His best season he only scored 16 in 46 games and that was 8 years ago.

{Ed007's Note - There's still hope for Tony Watt then 🙏

11.) 10 Sep 2018 22:25:25
I thought Robbie Keane was the fittest and best player on the pitch .

I wouldn't count Agbonalhor out solely, on being a stone over weight, a month proper training would look after that.

12.) 11 Sep 2018 07:18:55
Wouldn't look after the fact he rotten and doesn't score any goals though OMC.

13.) 11 Sep 2018 16:40:50
Kev there is usually a good reason why a player hasn't got a club in the 2nd week of September .
I think he is typical of many English footballers who think no matter how far past their best they ware ' they can still do a job in Scotland . Funny enough most of them fail.

14.) 11 Sep 2018 20:21:21
Some of our fans seem to think that tae OMC. 1st Terry now Gabby. Geez a break.

15.) 12 Sep 2018 00:08:35
Some of our fans must think Celtic is a nursing home for over the hill EPL players.
We have a real job on our hands Kev83 keeping them right.

19 May 2018 20:36:24
Rewatching the game at home and laughing at Big Eck and the internal struggle he went through when he had to compliment Celtic. He's an absolute disgrace. Undermined the dominance at every opportunity.

But I have got to say, Boyata was fantastic. I know he's had a lot of stick this season but in the run in, he's shown massive signs of improvement that I think warrant a new deal.

People have slated him for mistakes he's made, which I don't think should happen to any player in the hoops, but even in the last few games people have been saying he's not been good enough. My question is, what do people want from him? Slated for the mistakes but not praised for the improvements.

It just seems imbalanced to me.

But on a brighter note, DOUBLE TREBLE.

Long may the dominance continue, Hail Hail.

{Ed007's Note - Big Dedryck's been immense the last few weeks and I noticed today a couple of times he just stroke the ball out of play for a throw-in keeping it nice and simple to allow the defence get back and regroup rather than be silky and try and take on the attacker and risk the mistake like we've seen in the past, it's when he starts to think he makes mistakes.
And only 5 goals less than Rogic for the season (giggle)

1.) 19 May 2018 20:52:37
He was calm and composed today and like you said, the last few weeks. I think if the club showed a bit of faith and offered him a new deal, he could be like a new signing. He seems to be growing up and maturing as a player.

He's a threat from set pieces as well like you say.

I like and rate him. He's been in the Belgium squad a few times now and you just have to look at the players they have right now to see what big praise that is for him and for Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - I rate him as long as he keeps it simple, leave the Beckenbauer stuff to Ajer.}

2.) 19 May 2018 20:57:22
Aye Boyata has been good but did use noticed that when the ball was punted up to main we had Brown in front of Main and Boyata behind Main when going for header double teaming the Main threat great tactics from Rodgers.

3.) 19 May 2018 21:40:01
Thought Boyata was immense also. Like you say ED he done the simple things today. I think one of the best signings we could make this summer would be a top class defensive coach as Jozo and Boyata have shown how good they can be and there is talent there in my opinion.

{Ed007's Note - We don't need another coach, Malky, if there isn't anyone on our staff that can organise a defence by now Rodgers should be criticised for it. Danny McGrain, John Kennedy AND Kolo Toure are all at the Club and Rodgers and Chris Davies are experienced enough. Instead of hiring a new defensive coach spend put his wages towards a quality CB that can play alongside Ajer for some games to keep him learning and maybe help Boyata feel more confident and keep progressing if he stays in games they're chosen together.}

4.) 19 May 2018 21:51:41
Ed, couldn't agree more. Ajer is magnificent. Another season of that pairing would be fantastic if they both continue on this track. Obviously an experienced CB coming in would help them both but I really think this could be a strong partnership.

I think a lot of fans are overlooking the fact that only two of the starting 11 were not here when BR came in. This need to spend money like it's burning a hole in their pocket is the wrong move for me. We do need to bring in some quality but only to compliment that which we already have.

{Ed007's Note - We've all been saying it for years, we need to invest in quality before quantity and Rodgers knows the squad needs strengthening for Europe. For me we still need to trim the squad while improving the overall quality which isn't an easy task.}

5.) 19 May 2018 22:51:02
Not incorrect. Frivolous spending is our worst enemy. BR knows what he needs and where to invest.

I'd be happy with a CB and cover for KT if we kept our current squad. I'd even look to get Izzy back.

If SA doesn't stay, I'd like a box to box midfielder brought in.

For me, getting Rogic 90 minute fit is a priority. If he can play a full game in Europe, teams are in trouble.

Tweaking rather than an overhaul is what is needed for progression.

Tbhe deals being made now are excellent for the future and show the right intent for me.

6.) 20 May 2018 00:09:47
Congratulations another memorable season .
Most important thing for next season is when we do qualify for Champions league, we don't draw two Champions League Giants . There are easier draws available than we got in the last two yrs and hopefully we get an easy one .

Just one plea, don't be too quick to write a player off . Boyata was ropey in his
first game back after injury but he has improved every game and is now a v good centre half.

7.) 20 May 2018 09:26:11
In order to continue to get better on the CL stage demands a couple of quality additions. Boyata has been playing really well, but it’s his curse of unforced errors that we need to protect ourselves from. If he has serious competition for the position he might get even better, thevfact remaibs we cannot only hope this happens. We need to be covered if it doesn’t.

We need a top CB a RB and depending on who leaves possibly another strong creative midfielder. We cannot afford to stand still. Nobody is expecting us to go mad, but we all know that our real testing ground is the CL.

Get that right and we will ragdoll anything at home, particularly the Deluded. Rogers hit the nail on the head with his, it’s not the punches to the head but that pats on the back that kill us.

Spot on.

Let’s enjoy this but see it as the start of something, and that something is to be able to take to the CL without fear of humiliation. That requires a better defence. Competition for places is vital. In the end it’s up to the players to ensure they start.

It’s up to Rogers to make sure the calibre of player required to defend against great teams is there.

A few excellent performances from Boyata is great to see as I do think there is a player there. To keep improving him and us he needs competition. If he comes out on top fine. That’s his battle, ours is to improve and if you haven’t got it that’s part of the game. Rogers knows he can’t be handed his arse the way we were last year.

He will fix it.

The only thing the Let’s Go rangers shout will be useful for is when we are trouncing them and their hordes say that to each other before going back to their pubs to talk about how much they hate Tim’s.

For it is written.

Treble Treble anyone?

That’s coincidently my favourite Malt measure.

8.) 20 May 2018 18:29:00
Boyata has the makings of a top class defender. I think previously he just relied on his pace to get him out of trouble and this in turn means he wasn't always switched on. He looks imo to be enjoying his football at the moment. Remember his age and the fact the defence has never been as settled as it is currently. I understand what BR sees in him, I hope he stays as we need a settled back four.

Enjoy tonight folks.

Why give him game time ahead of Eddy before valencia? Hell be fine for the league games but need to give game time to those in the euro squad.

Manny perez following celtic twitter now, could be nothing or could mean he's signed. Any chance at all you think hell be a first team player this season Ed, if signed?

{Ed007's Note - He might get a run out against a Dundee or Accies or depending on who we get in the cup but I can't see him being a regular starter.}

If Ntcham did push for the move, is it really a position we would need to bring another player in for? CM has been sublime in that position and with Christie and rogic, as well as the new signings being able to slot in further forward, surely we could use the money to invest in a new cb? Possibly benkovic? Or another cb proven at a decent level? What are your thoughts Ed?

{Ed007's Note - I'm not getting into another McCarthy debate mate, there's nothing I can say that I haven't said during every previous window for years.}

A game like this is the perfect test for Hendry to show he can handle the pressure playing as the main ch.

I absolutely agree that Ajer is top notch, but we know that already.

Players need game time to develop and gain confidence, so I would for this game, yeah.

My team would be:

Gamboa Hendry Jozo

Forrest Brown Ntcham Tierney

Edouard Dembele

I know Gamboa is just back but he's played more competitive football in the off season so should be fit enough for this game.

I also think that the two up top should be played as often as possible during the build up to the regular season to see if it's a fruitful endeavour.
