Well, I am not a fan of bolingoli and class left backs seem to be on every teams list out of what appeared to be available Birgir Meling seemed that best option it is incredible that Nimes have snapped him for 830.000 can anyone come up with a viable left back all I can come up with now is Mohammadi

That's mad. No brainer at that price, especially with Hayes away. Hickey seems like the obvious target - cheap, big potential and is a tim.

He's clearly not as good as everyone seems to think or we or someone half decent would have gone for him. Got to remember they were well into their season when they played us in qualifiers. Seem to remember wee James giving him the run around in a 3-1 win. Think he scored in that game but we weren't at our level yet. If he was a standout week in week out he would have got a better move. We made Dykes look like pele last season. He's still Colin Nish. looks like we will sign Hickey. Two young Scots fighting for the position. Hopefully they bring each other on.

I would still prefer a bit of experience at left back, still think Barry Douglas of Leeds could do us a turn.
I am not sure about Hickey, he is young but obviously has potential. Any reason why he couldn't play right back?
Hopefully big FF will be here, but if not what about Joe Hart.
He is a free agent at the end of the month.

hickey could play right back no problem imo, the boy could move forward in to midfield he's that good.

Joe hart has been finished for years. As good as they were griff has hit far better free kicks than the ones that flew past Hart. Not to mention bales free kick at euro16. That was an embarrassment. Be as well getting doris back. He couldn't save anything either. Talk of Bravo he is the same. Every shot against these guys go in. One thing for bain he is a shot stopper. Same with Gordon and Forster who I hope we can get back.

You are probably right about Hart Fifer, I've just got this horrible feeling we'll be left with Bain only. He is a decent keeper, but he ain't FF.
I'm sure our scouting dept will have a few names on their list, we'll find out soon enough.

I'm confident FF will be back. No one is going to pay 10m in this climate. Soton desperate to get him off the wage bill. A loan will suit both parties. If not I'm sure we have other options and I can't see any of the paper linked keepers being options. Just hope we can get it done early but with extended transfer window it could drag on.

{Ed007's Note - I think there would be plenty of clubs that would snap up Forster for £10 million. The choice Forster has to make is whether he wants to be a back-up at a big Pub League club, first choice at a mid-table/relegation fodder team where he could end up 2nd/3rd choice again or be No.1 at a club he knows, in a smaller league, on a lot less money but winning trophies and playing European football.}

Perfectly summed up Ed, here's hoping he chooses the last option.

{Ed007's Note - Fingers & toes crossed mate.}
