we need to get Stuart Armstrong back in the middle of the park and back to the player he was when we signed him. i never understood why we bought one of the best centre-mids in the country and then played him out wide. i think he would be most effective playing at the front of a diamond four with a proper ball-winning holding midfielder.

I think the biggest problem at the club is playing players out of position. Gone are the days when you need a left winger you go and get one. We seem to play a lot of players out of position theses days and have done for years now. What has happened to we need right back so we sign right back, and so on.

Is he good enpugh to play the front of a diamond? Does he have the goals in him?

I think Armstrong could easily play as the deeper midfielder tae.

I think Armstrong is quite dynamimc plenty of energy if played in right pos he has goals in him and a great engine just needs a run of games.

I'd have him just as a bog standard cm. Don't think he is quite there to be a defensive mid, as for him being used as a am in a diamond that's not for me his shooting has been way off recently . I've lost count of the amount of shots he has hit over the bar.

Armstrong could hit a rich vein of form anytime and score a whole go of goals . Not every player scores with every shot . The Euro's winners have had Ronaldo taking all frees outside the box, yet it's years since he actually scored one . Armstrong has always been a versatile midfielder from his days at Dundee Utd and I am sure he is happy that he can play in a variety of midfield positions, as it gives him more opportunity to be picked . IMO Armstrong is a hard worker who gives of his best.
