This should be much easier to type after Chris Sutton's quote in the record this morning "my gut feeling tells me there is something not right with this appointment" I have felt this since yesterday!

If we agree that £300k is not a massif amount to secure and that Peter Lawwell (who I think high off) covers himself.

My GUT tells me if RD gets it wrong( and I know Ed will give me pelters for this one!) But if we are out the CL and dropping points / getting beat before xmas. That the "BACK UP PLAN" Will be to relieve him appoint HL and appease the masses

HL was first choice, indicated he would not leave before NOV!, BUT wanted to manage celtic one day and believed he had the measure of it

Value any response to various train of thought (even you ED lol) HH

{Ed007's Note - Larsson was not first choice, thank God he ruled himself out of the running along with Keane.}

Appointing Henrik Larsson would be nothing more than a PR stunt to sell season tickets, he has nowhere near the experience needed to manage the club.

We've finally moved away from the jobs for the Bhoys syndrome that the manager has to be "Celtic-minded' and I for one applaud that.

It sounds like you want to see Deila fail, Jamie just to get your hero in as manager.

I'm willing to bet that Larsson will never be good enough to manage Celtic, what he done as a player shouldn't even come into it, as a manager he has done nothing to be considered a good enough option. Let's face it, he's hardly running riot with Falkenbergs.

Celtic fans are letting sentiment cloud their judgement, haven't we paid the price enough for that over the years?

Plus there's no way Larsson would do a Dalglish and jeopardise his legacy.

According to the #celticfamily on twatter you only get the chance to manage Celtic once, Larsson said no so he's made his bed.

Why not get behind Deila, Jamie - his arse hasn't even dented the manager's chair yet!

My gut feeling is that RD will be given time, and more importantly cash, to transform the club. Make no mistake Lennon has left us in a bit of a mess.We have a huge squad, by SPL standards, and a large amount of youths who have been given no chances despite us winning leagues early.

I'm with you Che. I'm excited about him , and I agree about henrik , it would break our hearts to see him go from hero to zero like fat sally

Thanks Che

I for one will be right behind RD there has never been anyone I never

If we are to believe Lawwell no one was offered the job So Larsson NEVER turned us down, nothing will alter my thoughts on that , I hope one day Larsson is good enough

I for one wanted Moyes then MacKay

As first days go RD was very very impressive by all accounts and I hope naturally he is as good as his word It would be refreshing, great to view and personally would be sorely tempted to take my box back!

{Ed007's Note - It doesn't matter if you won't change your thoughts, you're the only person I know or have seen who's saying this and you're wrong, it's all there in black and white with a direct quote from Hakan Nilsson

"He told me he has said 'no', and I know him as a man of his word. We have no concerns about him leaving."

"I speak to Henrik every day and we are focusing on tomorrow's game. I have no problem with the club who has spoken to Henrik. He had said 'no' and therefore it is no question for us."

Now unless 'no' means something else in Sweden I think that's pretty conclusive, unless you think the Falkenberg sporting director is lying, that would suit your wee fantasy.
Saying he wouldn't break his contract doesn't mean he didn't say no, it's actually the reason why he said no.}

You know people say no for a lot of reasons, not wanting to upset there family dynamic ( I know Celtic mean a lot to people, but family comes first ) , maybe thinking they are not equipped yet to handle what is a massive job , but time and situations can change a lot . Just because you have said no at one time in your life should not stop you getting a second chance , its all about the circumstances and if its good for Celtic

{Ed007's Note - Exactly Fab. One of the main reasons Coyle turned down the job in 2009 was because he didn't want his young family dragged into the Old Firm goldfish bowl and everything that goes with it, the fact he turned the job down though was enough for some to say he didn't deserve to be even considered this time, then there was the people who turned on Keane as well but if it comes to Larsson the same people would turn a blind eye to him not wanting the job just now, it's double standards, plain and simple.
The #celticfamily and double standards do seem to go hand in hand these days so I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised. If you think fans were just blindly going along with NL can you imagine how bad it would be with Larsson at the helm? You'd get lynched for saying the team played badly!}

Ffs! A said this should be easier to type after intimating that Chris Sutton felt to there was something not right in this appointment being made , So he was being earmarked as a No 2 and is Now No.1?

A like what RD said , dreamy stuff to all celtic supporters , but It is a gamble and a MASSIVE one at that are you telling me there is no plan B if it fails? A seen enough of yesterdays reaction to know there is a consensus of feeling the same! This is the strangest appointment since Wim Jansen!

For the record I am right behind him , I do not like John Collins being forced on him , This must be alarming to Broonie for obvious reasons! do we know Gary Parker's status at the club?

{Ed007's Note - Garry Parker left with NL.}

Thanks ED So it fair to presume we are looking for an asst manager plus 1 other?

{Ed007's Note - I'd say so but it really depends how many people Deila wants to work with, where does Danny McGrain fit in, if anywhere. There could be major reshuffling behind the scenes or it could be Deila + 1 or 2 just slot in to replace NL, Mjallby and Parker.}

8.) 07 Jun 2014
How do you know henrik was'nt first choice ed? You stated on countless occasions that u "thought" Owen coyle would get the job. How can u be so sure about henrik?

{Ed007's Note - Do you think Pedro had a wee list of numbered candidates in his pocket? I explained why I "thought" Coyle would get the job as far back as last summer when I said why I "thought" NL would leave this summer.}

9.) 08 Jun 2014
I don't think there was a list, one two, three four etc . I think people insinuating this player and that player turned down the manager's job are only undermining R D before he even gets in the door . Certain people may have been approached to see if they had an interest, some may for various reasons decided that it didn't suit them at this time .
