Pud, I really do not think Forrest needs a chance he has been a great servant and may he be an excellent player for us in next few seasons probably more as squad player. The guy has made 467 appearances for us since 2009-10. 101 goals in that time.

Pud, the only players going out are fringe players. We will break our transfer record, maybe even twice, The Lawwell days of missing out due to a couple of grand are over.

Much as James Forrest been a great player for us, do you honestly think even as squad player he will still I contribute? Genuinely can’t see it I’d move him on he’s on high wages aswell.

This is where blind loyalty takes over from common sense, James has been a great servant to the club, butthe time to move on, comes to everyone, he should not be given a new contract or contract extension, he will do good job for some other team as his career winds down,

@Celticlad Jamesy is getting on a bit and his injury record might be an issue but the club will look after him within reason.
He has been an outstanding servant.
He is still young enough to make a major contribution for a year or two if he's in good shape so you never know. HH.

We need 4 homegrown players and 4 additional players trained in Scotland for the CL squad. Forrest will be filling one of the spaces along with the likes of Bain and Ralston. Likely why they're still around. I'd imagine MJ could be used the same way.

I would move both MJ and JF on because of their injury record.

We could then move roco vata and Ben summers into the squad to fill our domestic quota. Or alternatively, look to buy the best young talent in Scotland.

Aye and when JF leaves we can sit around and question his loyalty to the club. People are deranged going on about Jota and Ange leaving and how they never loved the club but pushing JF out the door every window.

JF imo has earned the opportunity to finish his career with Celtic and while he might be on a decent wage, it's not going to bankrupt the club to repay the loyalty and service of the man. I'm sure more than once in his career he's had the chance to move elsewhere for big bucks but didn't go.

Should have sold Forrest years ago, he has always been inconsistent. On his day brilliant, not enough of them though and we all know it. Let’s not get all sentimental because his time is nearly up. Rogers knew it, brought in Sinclair and Roberts for that very reason. Johnstone is just a waste of a jersey and unless he too has improved massively he should be allowed to leave. I take it his loan team don’t want him either?
