Great move for both clubs.

Make more sense to move him along now. What kind of fee is usually required in this instance Ed? A few hundred grand or just something nominal?

{Ed007's Note - Without complicating things too much I reckon it would take a bid that would cover Celtic's costs of selling Allan (wages, bonuses etc he'd be due) as Allan is never going to accept a penny less than he's entitled from us. I just can't see Hibs would be willing to pay that kind of money for a player they'll get for free in a few months.
Allan's supposedly on £6/7k a week so he's due say £24k at the end of January and every month up to and including June (that's over £135k and there'll probably be bonuses like loyalty etc with his contract ending). If Allan asks for a transfer then he loses all of that - and he's shown in past windows he's not interested in negotiating that figure - and if we free him then we need to pay him up his contract in full but Lawwell is playing hardball after Allan digging his heels in during past negotiations to pay him off.
I went and complicated it didn't I? 😁

Usually I'd say loan him and save some money but I would loan hibs a bucket if piss now.

Haha a little 😉 I had a feeling it would be complicated like that with all the loyalties and bonuses. As you say Hibs won't cough up that kind of money and you can quite happily sit on your arse for a few months for excess of 135k.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

I would have thought he would have been on more than that tbh as Celtic bought him when his stock was high, albeit playing in the championship.

Honestly if I was pedro I'd kick his arse out the door right now with his fat cheque in his hipper. He's not going to get one minute of game time anyway.
