Kuhn has about 80 reserve team matches and about 40 1st team matches under his belt at age 24 so in my mind it is a signing that the scouting team are hopeful can improve by coming to Celtic

I'm not going to say this guy isn't any good but what I will say is that I definitely don't think he is Brendon's idea of the quality he keeps speaking about.

From the stuff I have seen about him he is very quick with an ok final product, maybe he can come in and improve and we will all fall in love with him or maybe he will come in and be like the last guy we signed from them for 3m.
Time will tell.

Kuhn has played 49 games for Rapid Vienna in all competitions and he’s scored 7 goals and he has 7 assists.
( about 29% )

Abada has played 108 games for Celtic in all competitions and he’s scored 29 goals and he has 19 assists.
( about 45% )

To be fair, Kuhn plays for a club that finishes 4th or 5th in the league table compared to Abada playing for the League Champions.

Kuhn’s record is average at best but that’s what you get for £3 Million.
Hopefully if he does sign for Celtic, we can get the best out of him.

Is he going to play ahead of Abada, maeda or Palma?

Its defintely not the type of signing BR was talking about, and as a prospect he ain't young either, not sure about this one, Maeda is fast but his end product is woeful, we don't need another, unless he's very cheap and worth a gamble on improving, but again we have a handful of those as well!

Is he ‘quality’ required by Brennan that plays the first game back after the break and improves the starting eleven?

Maybe we have bought some quality in the summer but the manager, for some reason decided not to play them. PB MN both look as if they could be players.
BR has acted strange with all the summer signings. yes some will probably never work but there are a few gems there to. maybe they just need time.

To answer your question Joe No I don't think he is, Same answer to your question JFP.

{Ed007's Note - I'm screenshotting all these posts ?I expect some serious sized portions of humble pie to be eaten by a lot Celtic fans if Khun signs for us.
I'll say that he will be a first-choice player for us next season at the very latest.}

Fair enough Ed007 I just think he will be like the last guy we signed from there for 3m

I also don't mind eating humble pie when it comes to this, obviously I want the guy to do well I really do. I've got reservations about this one though.

{Ed007's Note - The fee is irrelevant and is down to certain clauses in his contract, Kuhn's stats have always attracted interest and attention - just like MOR or even go back to Dembele - hence his moves to Ajax and Bayern Munich.
One of the "nerdy" guys, a Spurs supporter I follow on Twitter, has him as "EXACTLY the type of profile Postecoglou wants." The guy's not even in the door and he's being wrote off because "he's only £3 million" or "he done nothing at Ajax or Bayern" as if we could afford him if he did? Kuhn is the type of player we should be buying, we could have risked a loan to buy like we did with players that had done hee-haw like CCV, Jota or MOR, a Spurs outcast, a Benfica youth player or a MK Dons player...

He leads the league in successful dribbles per game, big chances created, assists, and xA. This is EXACTLY the type of profile Postecoglou wants. He is absolutely rapid, has a great reading of the game, and has a brilliant understanding of game-state.

His traits allow him to… pic.twitter.com/saWGpvt5hy

Ed: That comment is feckn screenshotted! ?.

{Ed007's Note - Batter in, he'll be another gem the recruitment team has found and the manager wants.}

His assists number isn't the best but there's some data circulating that his chance creation is through the roof. He could be firing some seriously good balls into misfiring strikers. He's one that excites me if I'm honest.

{Ed007's Note - Daddy Lawwell sent a memo to the board and recruitment team that Kuhn was "the bollocks" on Football Manager.}

I had a look on Twitter when he was first mentioned, Ed. I noticed that guy as well waxing lyrical about him and banging the drum for Spurs to get him signed up. If he's half as good as that guy thinks then we're onto a winner.

That’s very high praise indeed from the Spurs fan. ?.

{Ed007's Note - And the guy's no fool, Buzz when it comes to data/scouting.}

He could be just the type of player that Kyogo needs.

It’s very easy for some of our regular negative posters to cast doubts about our first signing of this window . If he turns out to be a good one they will have moved on to critise something else or someone else and everything will be forgotten .

14.) 12 Jan 2024
11 Jan 2024 23:40:02
By all means he is very quick and a really good at dribbling, Some of the stuff I read was that his passing isn't the best and he isn't very strong and virtually no defensive quality at all. I form my opinion on the stuff I have read about him and as I said I really hope he works out and is a massive hit, being a left footer playing on the right wing has Palma vibes about it this one. I like Palma by the way although he can be very frustrating at times and is very wasteful and could be so much better. Anyway I seen someone comment that maybe this guy will be able to supply the crossing Kyogo needs, being a leftie on the right I would doubt it. Happy to be proved wrong though, we shall see.

15.) 12 Jan 2024

I'm sure he will be better than Mickey Johnston. ?.

17.) 12 Jan 2024
12 Jan 2024 13:52:08
I have to agree with Ed about this guy Kuhn, from what I have seen of him he has the same kind of pace as Maeda but with actual technical ability to go with it. Seems to be a creator more than a goal scorer but that would do for me. If the price is around 3 mill then even better.

18.) 12 Jan 2024
12 Jan 2024 15:08:35
He’s going to be a star great signing if we get him.

19.) 12 Jan 2024
12 Jan 2024 16:33:36
Guys, all I'll say is I refer you to Scot Sinclair and Moussa, both unfulfilled potential until they came here and BR got the best out of them.

Kuhn had real potential a get years back, his awards confirm that, but he career stalled. At times if a player goes to the right club with the right Manager, things fall into place.

20.) 12 Jan 2024
12 Jan 2024 19:33:36
With having nine players on bench and allowed to make 3 changes during match time and a total of 5 players, I imagine BR would be hoping to have four very good wingers available for every match . To do that he would need 5 . Signing Kuhn was most important as probably our most dangerous attacking would involve two wingers both working the full backs hard for 50,55, or 60 mins and replace them by probably real flyers who should be able to punish the already tired full backs .

Wee Joe I couldn’t care less if he is ahead of Abada Maeda. , or Palma . When we have had our best 11 available we were a match for every team we played . Our weaknesses appeared when we had injuries or some times with our subs. I like to think we will have 2 super wings for each side and Kuhn can be brilliant starting or coming on as a sub .
Incidentally Joe, I remember earlier in season after team was announced a poster said “a very good bench “ we didn’t win match and before 5pm said our
“bench was useless”
We know different people can have different opinions and that is healthy .
What do u call when the same person has different opinions.
