A criticism of Brendan in his first spell at Celtic, was his reluctance to change from a
4-2-3-1 formation.

I was reading articles today about how Celtic could play a 3-5-2 formation.
I would love to see Celtic alternate formations but I doubt it will happen.

I did notice that Brendan played with inverted fullbacks at times, last season at Leicester.
Maybe he is willing to change systems/ formations when needed.

I know Ange always liked to play the same formation but I feel that was different because it was attacking football and we always created chances.
Sometimes I feel with a 4-2-3-1 we can be hitting our heads off a brick wall.

I just don't want Celtic to be a one trick pony.

He tried it with Celtic as well. Think we all remember the disaster of Callum at left back.

In fairness, it was Lennon who played McGregor at LB (Cluj CL qualifier 2019) . On reflection, an insane decision in the circumstances, but not Rodgers one.
In his time, Rodgers, very briefly played Armstrong at LB. It rejuvenated Armstrong and brought him back into the team. It was in the league, to cover injury and was temporary. He quickly moved back into midfield thereafter.
I’d be weary of playing players out of position too often (even Hatate) . It won’t work against better opposition.

If a team is unlucky with injuries and has 2 or more injuries for the one position it’s inevitable that the manager will have to play someone in a position that isn’t his best . The hope is that the situation will resolve itself quickly and the stopgap isn’t needed for long . Can a player loaned out on a season long loan be forced to return?
