Ryancelt, also played out from the back and got leathered in the CL and EL. Countless number of individual mistakes trying to play that way, it’s criminal against these top teams. Fair enough domestically, but watching it sometimes makes you want to turn the telly off!

Playing out from the back didn't get us weathered in Europe. Being unable to hold on to possession under pressure did.

That’s was Rodgers arrogance that got us pumped In Europe mate. You can still be setup defensively against the big boys and play good counter attacking football, Rodgers arrogance stopped him doing that.

It did my head in when Gordon passed the ball sideways to the defender who immediately invited pressure onto us. Bonkers.

Rodgers purported it was his philosophy to play that way but anyone who watched the Leicester v man city could clearly see he set them up defensively not to lose a goal hypocrite me thinks.

I agree with Kev on this one, it's our inability to keep hold of the ball under pressure especially in the midfield area that is the cause of most our defeats in Europe. If you play out from the back you have to keep the ball or you put yourself under pressure, with us not having a Dembele up top now there is no outlet for when we are under pressure .

If you look at how Rodgers set the team up against Bayern at home playing with wing backs we were much more sound defensively and also offered plenty going forward but he never tried it again.

I found it rather strange when B R managed Leicester City against Manchester City, he had 9 or 10 Leicester players running back to within 30/35 yds from own goal when Man City had the ball .
This was a relatively meaningless game for Leicester .
His principles seemed to prevent him from having Celtic defend in such depth .
Of course there is no principle in EPL.
