Hi all, what are you thoughts on the David Turnbull contract situation? I have always been a fan of his ability but don't think he suits how the club wants to play.

With all the new contracts being handed out to our key players. And no mention of contract negotiations for a player with less than a year on his contract. Should we have sold in the summer?

I think Holm will develop into a better option as our 4th CM in the coming months. What fee could we realistically look for in January? DT is too good a player to ride the bench but lacks the tenacity needed to start week in week out.

What are your thoughts?

Stupidity to let him run his contract down.

If he was a bit quicker he'd be a player but hes going to struggle to get in the team.

No pace, passion or hunger. I’ve said before he’s a poor man’s Kris Commons. I reckon if Ange was here he would’ve sold him in the summer but maybe Brendan wanted to have a closer look and it shows you that he’s maybe had his chance now.

We don’t know what attempts, if any have been made to keep him . I think he is a valuable sub to bring on because he has a decent shot from 18 -25 yds . However maybe he wants to go elsewhere and have more game time.

He is not a genuine first choice. When he gets his chance at starting he looks good for one game and then regresses.

He has no drive, no real fight and gives the ball away cheaply. Yes he does score when he comes on as a sub but it's usually when we are already well ahead.

I don't see him with a future at Celtic and I don't think he will be offered a new contract.

Holm in my opinion is a better prospect and he has a bit of bite in the tackle.

We would probably get about 2 and a half million in Jan for turnbull.
