First time poster but been a follower.

Got to say I’m not surprised at the fanfare in the media about Defoe - but I’m amazed at the reaction of fans on both sides.

“Game changer”, “will score for fun”. Can’t say I’ve watched many Bournemouth games but do know that Ryan Fraser is top of the league for assists.

Has anyone seen the 8 games the latest epl player to join the strolled it before they landed gang managed over 2 seasons?

Surely a guy from Tamworth can’t be keeping a prolific scorer out the team with the leagues top provider firing balls in just waiting for a touch to go in?

Genuine mentalist hype going about. Sure 8 years ago the guy was a player but how can anyone claim to know anything about him now?

I’d be gutted if that was our policy - would be a real step back to the Gravesen, Wright and Cole days - don’t think we’re that desperate.

Agree we need experience, but we need it at the 24-28 mark where there’s still a bit of resale potential and a better level of fitness for the pressing game we’re trying to play.

As per usual they are putting their eggs in one basket.
They had 4 years to build a team to challenge Celtic, but they were giving guys in their 30s three and four year contracts, which ment when the time came to play Celtic they were too old.
Now they are trying to stop the 10.The players they have brought in won't last the distance. I would be more concerned if they brought in guys who will last these next 2 1/ 2 years.

The squad is a mixture of loan players, older player with little or no value and short term contracts.
They only have 9 first team players with more than 17/ 18 months on their contracts.

If we do our business well this window, get our squad focused and build up momentum we can just about destroy them.
Gerard is building nothing here, no real plan, no foundation, no solidity and with our assistance no future.

Sorry folks - point I was making is reading some of our own talk about it you’d think we missed out!

Don’t believe we’d ever have been interested and glad he’s nowhere near our team - that would be a shocking step back.

Eddy needs a bit of back up but I’m pretty sure even congerton has better options than that 😂.
