Yeah we can't read in to it too much. But one concern is that we had such a fab season, we will face defeat at some time. It's normal and human. Also like so many teams when you get a new signing or new manager you very often hit the ground running and gives a massive boost.

I do feel we are buying into this in Brendan we trust thing. It makes him seem flawless. No person or manager or player is. It's not a criticism, or sevcompnian, I am purely being logical guys. I just feel that possibly the team well over performed last season, and that just maybe outer team do need more to it than we or he thinks. If we still perform like this weeks down the line then I think we do have a problem. Well in Europe.

Sometimes we tend to forget what pre - season is about . Well two things, one is working the hell out of players 3 times per day and giving them some match practice. During the season manager doesn't even have a full training session the day before the match . So it is no wonder players were a bit leg weary today and not fully mentally in tune . If they were B R would be afraid of the long term consequences as it would appear that he wasn't working players hard enough.

These games are nothing more than over blown training exercises, and a chance to give the manager an insight into the fitness levels of the players, I think a defeat or two at this stage will be more beneficial in the long run, it will focus the players minds on the fact they will have to work to achieve a victory and not sit back and think they will win anyway because they are playing a smaller team and after all they are the invincible, pride comes before a fall.

and I am sure Brendan will have that drummed into them before they play Linfield, if Linfield qualify, or the San Marino team, sorry, no disrespect meant, but I can't remember their name, I think the team from last year without Roberts, but with Hayes, who I expect to do really well, and another quality squad member addition, will exceed everyone's expectations in the Champions league,

I don't think there is any chance of going through this coming season undefeated, I think we will get beat by the team at the bottom of the league, the Saturday after getting our best European result for years, unless we go undefeated in Europe as well, going undefeated in Scotland, is meaningless, apart from showing the team applied itself really well.

it doesn't really say much about the quality of the team or the football it played, but if Brendan can keep the team together and keep the team spirit going, it wouldn't surprise in the least, if Celtic go undefeated in Europe, stranger things have happened.

Mick, celtic have never done that great in pre season games the scoreline means nothing as long as its not a right doing. its about getting the fitness right and trying new formations. its only 2 games in and btw they still haven't been beat calm down.

You are spot on mate, I agree with you. pre season it's crazy as they are hard at it all year round. I train in a different sporting discipline to football, and the training is more physically taxing on the body. I think people get the wrong impression of me mate, is a die hard Tim, a just for my back up at few comment which I felt were of a personal ilk bud, so was naturally on wind up. Anyway, I agree that we can't look into friendlies pre season etc, how do we all feel when we are first back form a break. We can't be arsed at first.

It is true Brendan is the Celtic manager for a reason, and we aren't. Just like warren gatlin is lions man. He too got flak. But we need to trust those at he helm. Who am I to judge Brendan. The guy is clearly a genius at man management. and for me that is paramount. The rest ie fitness should and is down mostly to the individual. If we compare griffo at first to say brown, they work ethic is so far apart. Browns a well lubed machine Leigh gifted but lazy with his diet and fitness.

Bhoys i can't see Celtic having any problem with anyone in pre season. Remember its pre season for both teams. We won't lose any games but its not that important. We need to grt it right in CL qualifiers. I have 1 worry. Craig Gorden. He is past sell by date. Hope De Vires can kick on.

Is Bigmick81 who wrote the first post about Brendan the same poster as the one that wrote the fifth post ( I think ) . He seems to have changed his thinking quite a lot and now thinks mostly like myself.

{Ed007's Note - That's pretty worrying.}

De Vries, you are having a laugh, I hope.
