Some strange selections and stranger substitutions

Stokes? Apart from 2 commentary mentions didn't even know on park.

At time of score, ambrose & biton brought on?

RD a bit fortunate tonight! making some of the same mistakes with selections as he did at the start of the season. Johanssen is poor in the holding midfield role. Stokes again was an empty jersey, no contribution whatsoever, it is not justifiable to play him as a lone striker. On the positive side another victory and clean sheet so onwards and upwards and see if we can get our high tempo back again when we play thistle midweek. Good for Forrest to score things don't always come off for him but he never stops trying

The reason that Deila brought on Ambrose in the second half was because Matthews was returning from injury , it was his first match back . A very good substitution , we have 6 games in 19 days and we want to have as many as possible to chose from .

I reckon the only reason for the changes tonight was the opposition. Bottom of the league and with internationals we could afford to experiment ala the reason we have a big squad

Mathews and Lustig rarely finish a game and although both are more than capable in that position - it is a worry that we need to 'waste' a substitution on that position most weeks.
I think we need to look at a revised back four for next season if Denayer and VVD are leaving and Ambrose - for all his faults will feature somewhere as he is rated by RD and he picks the team.
What worries me more is his confidence in Forrest, as he rarely shows any of his initial form and commitment.

It is strange Jungle Jim , that you posted as you did about Forrest . Forrest has played very well just recently and may just be putting his injuries behind him .
Deila has every right to demonstrate his confidence in Forrest . All players need their manager to show his confidence in them .
There are idiots amongst the Celtic fans who go to matches and shout abuse at Forrest . WHY? These fans spend good money and do their best to make Celtic lose . I cannot understand that .
