fair play to RD he got most things right tonight. Made a massive difference having three central midfield players. I thought Brown Biton and Johansen played well and controlled the game for long periods. I would like to see RD do this more. Wee probably would have won if izzy hadn't been so silly I thought he was doing really well until then, I worry about Blackett I think he looks as if he has a lot to find. Only fair I think to praise Efe apart from his crazy attempt at dribbling he defended brilliantly and made four or five great headed clearances so credit where it is due

Defence still shaky but considering they need a bit of time to get to know each other, it could have been worse. Thought Lustig looked really isolated and they knew it because they pressed him every time. Commons may not have the legs but he is the only creative player we have, is that maybe where Allen comes in, eventually.
Our ball retention, or should that be lack of it, is shocking and keeps us on the back foot and even with 11, never felt we could hang on. Forrest was rank, and Brown and Johansen were chasing shadows all night. A mention for Efe, one blip apart, he did ok and if he could just learn when to clear his lines, he would save himself a lot of grief.
We all seem to agree where our deficiencies are, so hopefully we have something to build on until the Jan window😱

After the very poor performance on Saturday , we came back and rebuilt some pride . Tonight was a step in the right direction , the team showed pride and determination , we didn't see much disharmony tonight .

A question for those fans who say they backed RD from day one and it is an honest question not a criticism. What was it that convinced you he had the qualities to mange celtic successfully?

He was honest he was changing things that slowly started to work the fitness levels where noticeably up once he took over aswell but we are now going backwards maybe spending to much time on fitness and class work stuff we should be out training with a ball

Can anyone imagine Big Jock , Billy McNeill or even MON putting a team on the pitch in a vital European game that was scared of the opposition. Seriously!!.

Never mind the tactical deficiencies this is a catastrophic failure of man management. I suspect this will create a split now between the coaching staff and the players. He basically publically called them out as cowards

We as fans complain when a manager comes out and says something completely different from what the fans witness over 90 mins. Personally I feel ronny has probably held back in saying how he really felt. Whilst I admit he isn't completely faultless those players to a man last night were a disgrace to the jersey, even Broonies the club captain says he was embarrassed! That tells it's own story. The bottom line is that performance last night was nothing short of a disgrace!

2.) 26 Aug 2015 19:49:19
Correct

I believe there has been a split behind the scenes for sometime especially with Collins and rd they seem to be on different pages at press conferences

Commons out already to dispel the fear factor a player for sometime that seems to have underlying issues with rd

On that front I met commons playing golf after the quarabag game. Rd stays at the course I jokingly said he should stop by for his dinner. He drew his eyes never thought much of it but starting to think there is no love lost between the 2

3.) 26 Aug 2015 19:51:04
Read what Chris Commons says. According to Commons The players didn't know whether to try and defend the 3-2 lead or try to score and kill off the game? So he says in the Daily Record? So didn't RD tell them exactly what the game plan was or do they not listen to him? Just thought it was a strange comment to make?

4.) 26 Aug 2015 20:16:56
My point it is alright being honest about the failings, however it is his job to have the players motivated. If they were scared and stressed then they were not properly prepared. A scared team us the managers responsibility

5.) 26 Aug 2015 20:26:04
I listened to commons interview tonight johnny and what commons actually said was from his point of view personally he didn't feel scared etc. this report in the paper has had a spin put on what commons actually said m8

I don't think RD accused the players of being scared or afraid of Malmo, it was the occasion more than the other team. At least that's how I read it.

7.) 28 Aug 2015 01:01:53
Big Jock sent out a team in the European Cup final completely unprepared for the task in hand . The team was slaughtered all over the pitch and lost the game in injury time . The players and most of the fans blamed big Jock , but his head wasn't demanded .

Sack the board, I think all of your arguments are inaccurate if you try to extend them over more than the last few weeks. I think he has been a excellent captain for us and consistently provided the leadership we needed. You and the many others you cite are entitled to your view, I have a different view, I won't speak for other supporters but I a confident many more are happy with his role as captain player and leader

Sack the board, is there appoint you want to make, is your criticism now about his choice of car. He had a bad game against Malmo, he was not hiding. All players have occasional bad games but normally their teammates do enough , that night we had too many play badly and the system the manger set up was wrong. In saying that we need to move on and support the team. Try it you might enjoy it and spend less time polishing your grievances

Sack the board, that's a strange Orwellian defence, you accuse me of being a currant bun because I criticise your infantile and gleeful criticism of our captain and players, what nonsense. Let's not bring the topic of intellect into the argument otherwise I would be forced to suggest that in your case a village is missing one of its much noted residents

HI Pedro, if Celtic forever was saying SB is going through a period of poor form then I would agree my response was harsh. However he has consistently argued that SB is a poor player and criticised his performances over years not weeks. This is patently nonsense. In terms of Mulgrew I think we should remember that he was playing well before a significant injury kept him out for the last few months of last season, he was then injured again just as he was coming back, I would like to give him another month to see if he can get back to full fitness and recapture good form. Perhaps his form won't recover but he can be a valuable asset to the squad if he can

Sack the board and Celtic forever I really don't think you know anything about football, I would be surprised if you ever made it to celtic park but even if you do your vendetta against these players belies an inability to both understand the game and support your team. Tlaking about being boring I have never seen such appallingly long, uninformed and dull narratives

We wouldn't even start wih the current squad with 100 million to kick off I am confident even Peter and John park could sign some quality players. On the other hand if we had been in the EPL for the last five years we may have a team with Wanyama KI Ledley Matthews Forster Van Dyck and Hooper with a bit of luck top six would be realistic

McGregor needs to be shipped out, against Raith he stopped the majority of our attacks by going backward and offered nothing going forward

When we went down to ten men he took off the best player GMS who was causing them problems up front in a game we needed to score.

Old hoy, that wasn't my post that mentioned players, my view is that the system is leaving the two in the middle with far too much to do and no support from the three in front of them who make little contribution either defensively or controlling the game. However as you ask I think Matthews is a loss as was Joe Ledley
