Evening Ed & all, seen highlights of the sevco game, that is TWO weeks in a row on live TV that McGregor has elbowed AND stamped on an opponent involving THREE different players!

An ex player commentating on the match said " that's nasty"! (hinting it was intentional on Griffiths)

The last old firm game 3 years ago you could see Mulgrew motion @ him at full time about his "usage" of the elbow

Am being serious here how is he getting away with it? are the authorities letting him away with it because every day there a worse headline for them, given recent history/current situ are they scared of getting accused of "picking" on them or having an agenda/bias against them?

I don't think its a case of the authorities running scared of the Newco, Sevco or what ever name they have . Because of their traditional close ties where it is a Rangers man yesterday and tomorrow it's a Senior figure in the running of Scotland's football. It is more a case of running hand in hand to maintain their old odium, what is good for the Govan club is good for Scottish Football and vice versae what is good for Scottish Football is good for the Govan club.

I can't believe he has got away with it so many times. What he is doing is dangerous and could result in someone getting there neck broken. The authorities need to sort it out now.

What about the flying kick on the hearts player by the livi player, and not even a booking, what kind of training do these refs get?

He undoubtedly will be put out to pasture come next year or promoted to coaching newoco or killie . cringe. Better off at the UFC academy were his skill set would be legal and of use!
Same old story of elbows being protected and his victims and I mean victims left bruised or worse. He is finished any road and the pitches of Scotland will be a safer and better place when he goes

Aindoh. We know the type of training Scottish referees get and more important we know that they all use the same methods of refereeing to get to the top of their profession. A pro person bias along with an anti Celtic bias and you are on the way to the top.

The issue with Scottish referees is two fold the training and the recruitment. I was a referee and I also played football for years before trying my hand at refereeing. I genuinely believe there is no bias in about 90% of referees in Scotland but their training is abysmal it focus' completely on fitness with very little interpretation work the referee test for Scotland has a fitness test 25% greater than the rest of Europe. The issue is most of the guys who become referees have no real on field experience. Most of them are pretty crap at football and may love watching it on the telly but never played at a decent level so can't really read a game or a player. Recruitment is an utter joke they want Young boys leaving school they can mould into robots if you start refereeing over the age of 25 you have no real prospect of becoming a grade 1 referee. Ridiculous as surely you need the experience of being I that field. Oh and finally the biggest problem is making your decision convincing and professional. They would rather a wrong decision looked good than a correct decision was messy. Hene the Dougie MacDonald issue a few years ago the issue was the mess it the decision. All he was trying to do was sell the decision the way the association want. And believe me the referee association is not the SFA totally independent and controlled independently. I loved refereeing and thought I was rather good sadly in injured now but used to love doing the Sunday league and a bit of junior

Hope you get back to it Thommobhoy

Thommobhoy . Nobody is doubting you that there is no bias within 90% of the referees in Scotland . I would go as far as saying that their isn't a bias bone in their body or a bias thought in the minds of the 90% who referee in Scotland . They all do their best to referee as honest and as capable as they can . Unfortunately it is the 10% some of whom have flourished and have got to Grade 1 referees by been biased and partial. It is from within this 10% that the referees are appointed to referee Rangers/newco games, many even in the bottom division . Their performance as biased towards the Govan club has got promotion to International and UEFA level. The bias amongst the 10% of referee towards Newco is replicated by their anti Celtic bias .
