Anyone else reckon Moyes coul be our next boss if Lennon moves on in the summer? Hope Lennon stays but I reckon this would be a possible.

I said it half jokingly further down the page but tbh - I'd rather we had David Moyes, Steve Round + Jimmy Lumsden than Lennon, Mjallby + Parker!

Wouldn't surprise me if he was linked with the job. I hope not, he is overrated and has never done anything of significance. Martinez has made a couple of changes to moyes squad and has got the best out of them.

I wouldn't say he was overrated, he's been voted LMA MOTY three times in his 11 EPL seasons. His record with Preston + Everton were decent, but with Manchester United there was several issues. You can bet a lot of those players played for Fergie, not Man Utd, so he lost them straight away. He didn't retain any of Fergie's backroom staff, so training + tactics changed drastically. Throw in also he failed to replace the aging players in the squad such as Ferdinand + Giggs. I agree about Martinez but, he's definitely a better manager than Moyes in my opinion. Just look at how well he's done at Swansea, Wigan + now Everton!

Martinez fighting relegation with Wigan every year yes he won the fa cup don't know much about his Swansea days but one season with Everton he hasn't surpassed moyes best season with them so I don't get the English media and other fans saying Martinez is a better manager I'll give Martinez another couple of years in the Everton job before I make a descision

I'll need to give Martinez a lot longer before I decide if he's any better than Moyes. He hasn't done anything better this season than Moyes.

If I was an Everton fan though I would have been glad of the change - a fresh face.

He joined Swansea as a mid table L1 team and turned them into a top Championship side before Brendan Rogers got them promoted to the EPL. Year after year he defied the odds and kept Wigan in the EPL on a shoestring budget and eventually led them to the FA Cup before they went down, developing several youngsters. James McCarthy, Charles N'Zogbia, Hugo Rodallega, Arouna Kone, Scott Sinclair, etc. Again at Everton he's doing the same, took a decent side and made them better. I think very highly of Martinez.

Mrs E, Martinez has done something this year that Moyes couldn't do in all his years at Everton, that is finish above Man U in the Premiership

8.) 22 Apr 2014
I agree with Hamilton. If you take Martinez's budgets etc. into consideration then avoiding relegation so often with Wigan and winning the FA cup is amazing!
And Mrs E, how can you say he hasn't done any better than Moyes this season? He's taken Everton from 6th to potentially 4th whereas Moyes has taken the champions almost half way down the table!

@8 I was talking about Moyes the Everton Manager, not at Man Utd.

Just saying, I'd need to see Martinez manage Everton for a couple of seasons before I can really judge.

I like them both to be honest.
