Gents,
I am somewhat alarmed by the lack of progress between Ledley, samaras and the club it is my opinion that Ledley will walk away in the summer for free and in my opinion bringing in a scottish replacement is key . Stuart Armstrong is the ideal replacement the best homegrown midfielder in Scotland and would jump at a move to the hoops may cost 1- 1.5 million but I would pay it as he is well worth it. Thoughts please bhoys and ghirls

Chalky bhoy.

We have to learn from young McCarthy. More than holding his own v Arsenal in with Ramsay, Wiltshere and Ozil.

{Ed007's Note - I have been telling Man Utd fans for 2 years that they should sign McCarthy, he would have brought energy, urgency and much needed tenacity to their midfield. Some of them agreed, a few thought it would be worth a risk but the majority blew the idea out the water.
A lot of Utd fans just want to see money spent on fancy named foreigners rather than look at what the team needs. I've watched McCarthy regularly since he was about 14 and I knew he would make a success of himself even then.
Just watch, he will move on to a CL team in a couple of seasons for stupid money if Everton don't become contenders for a CL place themselves.
The thing is that Moyes had lined the deal with Everton up so you would think he would have still been keen, McCarthy is a better player now than Fellaini will ever be.
When Man Utd (and Moyes) let the deadline of 31st July for Fellaini's £23.5m release clause pass only to pay £27.5m a month later I knew this was not going to be a good season for Utd.}

GJ, I agree with you the way McCarthy is playing now but when we were rumoured to be interested in him when at Accies, if we had got him he would not have got the chance to develop and would have been given very little playing time. In the league we must play our youngsters to se how good they are and give them the experience to progress

I believe that the fee for Gauld will be too rich for our blood,, but that should not deter us from seeking young Scots talemt. Armstrong, May, Soutar and possibly Fulton of Falkirk might be worth a punt.

{Ed007's Note - CFC are very interested in Gauld but after being told the sort of figures EPL clubs are talking they don't hold out much hope of completing a deal.}

A young Scottish player to replace Ledley (who I fear might have had his opinion on his future altered) more in our price range for me would be Bannan. Impressed me greatly for Palace and Scotland against superior opposition.
