Parade before the charity game has been cancelled.

I don't think we should be stopping parades or gatherings myself. i think in some ways that's giving success to the idiots by making us change our plans. It also doesn't make a great deal of sense when your still allowing 50k and 60k fans still gather in the streets around Hampden and parkhead anyway. I doubt it will happen but I hope these decisions are reversed.

{Ed007's Note - Spot on, Jim. There's a sell out Hampden on Saturday and sell out Celtic Park on Sunday plus the show at the Hydro tonight yet they're cancelling a bus parade. Why haven't these events also been cancelled?

Happy to be contradicted here Ed, but I think it is the celebration aspect angle of things that is being binned?

Cant see Man Utd taking that route either for obvious reasons will Arsenal or Chelsea?

{Ed007's Note - The players won't be parading the Scottish Cup - if we win it - at CP after the game and the bus parade before the Legends match has been cancelled, why? It's a total nonsense and I can't understand why the Club has taken this decision. Why not just cancel the games if security is so important?}

Living in manchester and working literally 7 mins away from mondays events I can understand the current panic. It was chaotic here tuesday and very quite in town centre since. I suppose the matches in stadium can be vetted much better than people just congregating on the streets. Does stink abit when you consider the achivement the club has managed and potential treble also. Makes you think are people just using this as an excuse to spoil the party.

{Ed007's Note - That's horrible mate, all our thoughts and prayers are with your wonderful city at this time, God bless you buddy. My dad spent a couple of years living in Manchester when his family left Cork and I still have family down there who were thankfully all safe.
Yes it's easier to control things in the stadium but remember the scumbag in Manchester wasn't at the concert, he was hanging around the foyer so imagine the crowds teeming out of Hampden and Celtic Park or the Hydro this weekend, how's it different controlling them than a much smaller crowd at Celtic Park to see the players present the cup?
I seen someone on Twitter say that our bus parade would stretch the police - obviously not as much as the Orange walks that are on this weekend across Scotland though.
Cancelling these things is just letting the bastards win, they've got us living in fear of going about our daily business and things are just going to get worse if we don't get the Tory warmongers out, they've consistently proven that they can't keep us safe in our daily lives all the while cutting police and defence budgets further and selling arms to people known to supply Middle East nutters under our noses.}

I don't honestly know Ed, On some aspects it's "not to put a further drain on resources" others it's to "dumb down" the celebrations like out of respect that appears to be the two takes on it

When you tackle the first one what is in place for the FA Cup final? Surely, they must follow suit?

{Ed007's Note - Are the OO walks not draining resources though so that doesn't really wash does it? They're talking about deploying the army at Wembley. Now I'm not a cowardly murdering scumbag but I'd think Wembley would be a much higher risk target than a bus parade in Glasgow or a few thousand folk at CP.
Man Utd and their fans didn't mind celebrating winning the EL last night but we can't celebrate in Glasgow out of respect? That's a bollocks excuse too. Then there's the thousands of supporters going to a party with Rod Stewart and the Bay City Rollers for a piss up and a sing song - awfy respectful that is!
I wonder if they would have been cancelled if they were paid ticket events?}

I've sent an email to Celtic at my disappointment at these cancellations as I genuinely believe we shouldn't fear what might happen. If there is a genuine concern then cancel all events but then where do you stop fear? stop going to the movies high Street pub shopping centre etc.

{Ed007's Note - (clap)

Is it cancelled for fear of what might happen or is it a mark of respect? HH.

That's my point Bob, Aberdeen have indicated they will not parade in that angle and is Aberdeen a target?

I fully accept that in the grand scheme/ scale London is a more of a target so what is happening there?

Is it a "scaleback" or other aspect? (y)

Thanks for the kind words mate. I just took a walk to albert square on my lunch/ dinner break and it just hits home even more so. The thing for me is the threat its obviously high atm but in manchester we are still going ahead with the great manchester run this weekend. If they really wanted to do the parades for us in glasgow they could. Just seems they are using this as an excuse. Bloody hope we win this treble on sats.

{Ed007's Note - It must be tough down there but well done on keeping the run happening, that's the right attitude imo.}

" no one is making any money out of it ". that's right a lot of the poor unemployed or part time workers on minimum wage would have been going, you know the one's that can't afford forty quid a ticket for the final or 500 for a season ticket but these people have no voice in society now 😞 because the torys have successfully demonised them, so no one is going to complain on there behalf , a problem that is affecting wider society also 😒.
