Hi Ed, do you know how much substance the Leigh Griffiths rumour has? I would welcome him with open arms. Worked absolute miracles for a dreadful Hibs side and hits a rasper of a dead ball from anywhere inside 30 yards! I was also looking at his goal stats and it made for some interesting reading;
Griffiths, 2 seasons at Hibs, 78 games 39 goals
Stokes, 3/4 seasons with us, 136 games 54 goals

I'm also aware of the question marks over his off field behaviours but since he's been at wolves he appears to have settled down quite a bit and is their top scorer so far. I'd have him signed up tomorrow.

{Ed007's Note - Griffiths rarely trains with with Wolves, most days he is training with Hibs and he is desperate to get a move back to Scotland. So far CFC have not made any enquiry about him and Hibs can't afford him.}

I like Griffiths as a player- we should have signed him in the summer. Ian L

2.) 20 Jan 2014
Neil Lennon was quoted as saying Griffiths was not good enough to get in his team. What's changed.

3.) 20 Jan 2014
Hey people I know this griffis has good stats and is good play but I just dnt see him as a striker that would strengthen our squad for European nights we need a tallys man for Europe I think Shane long would have been ideal always loved him as a player

4.) 21 Jan 2014
@STU88 - What's changed is that Hooper is gone and our strikers aren't scoring goals.

We won't know if people can play in Europe till they get a shot it's a chance managers need to take, scot Mcdonald managed it

6.) 21 Jan 2014
@kev. So he suddenly went from he's not good enough to OH! wait hoopers gone and the other strikers aren't scoring. That player I openly said wasn't good enough I'm going to buy him. Get a grip Kevbhoy there are plenty other solutions out there as well as young guys on the bench who are not getting a chance. So why would Griffiths be an immediate fix especially when he wasn't good enough to get in Neil's team.

7.) 21 Jan 2014
Thought griffiths looked good at hibs, but so did riorden, flood at utd but transition into a bigger team with better players often make these players then look average or not good enough!

8.) 21 Jan 2014
@stu88 Leigh scored in spl and in hindsight might have been a better option ahead of balde pukki bangura stokes miku lassad and Sammy etc, just because Neil Lennon says he isn't better than what we've got doesn't make it true he could be wrong and might admit it one day?will he score in Europe maybe yes/no?. He should be signed if he can improve us and if he's trouble off the park then surely you set him straight as to what's expected or he gets binned and leave him to regret what might have been.

9.) 21 Jan 2014
Ppl keep going on about his record at hibs he played a lot of games at the start of the season for wolves how many goals did he score and wolves are one of the better teams in that league

10.) 21 Jan 2014
Griffiths apps 26 goals 12
Mcgregor apps 24 goals 10
I am only showing mcgregor because they are in the same league and mcgregor is playing for a worse team than wolves

11.) 21 Jan 2014
I would love to see lad Mcgregor get a run nx season, been a standout down there. Chris30

12.) 21 Jan 2014
Griffiths is not an answer to our problems I'd rather we never spent any money than sign him! We should be signing a lot better than what we have, improving the squad not just adding to it!

13.) 21 Jan 2014
Griffiths will never be a celtic player, he simply is not good enough

14.) 22 Jan 2014
Some of you lot need to lay off the drink! He would easily have outscored every one of our strikers this season had we bought him in the summer. Anyone who would argue otherwise is kidding themselves on.

15.) 22 Jan 2014
@kevbhoy I agree with you mate I think he would be a great signing for us and can't understand why we have not even enquired about him.

Wolves fan. Griffiths has failed to settle down here and is missing his family. The best thing for both parties would be a move back to Scotland. We've replaced him with Nouha Dicko and we would expect a marquee striker signing if promoted back to the Championship. The powers that be see McGregor as a player who has a lot of potential. He'll replace Dave Edwards who is out of contract at the end of the season with no new deal on offer. The press in this area seem to think we've been offered a straight swap but the CEO wants at least some cash to go along with that. I think LG will be a big success for Celtic although he is an unknown quantity in the CL.
