Celtic tracking St Johnstone wonderkid Stevie May

1.) 02 Nov 2013
Utter nonsense, this is a waste of internet space

2.) 02 Nov 2013
I would sign this boy in January. He is fast becoming a very skilled footballer. JK

3.) 02 Nov 2013
Personally I think we need to stop buying kids or boys for the time being and sign some men instead

Wonderkid - sort it out! He's only just back from loan, and has done nothing until now. We need quality right through the team, we have banked enough money for now, - we need at least 3 first team picks(every week) we have enough squad players - so much so I don't even think he knows his best team/system, we also have players who are too similar. We need a sitting midfielder who can control a game/PASS THE BALL, and a striker with pace who plays off the last man-a proper no 9, - not a target man, an all round no 9. We also need cover in defence! Paul

What about moving for Tom Ince? £155,000 would be the fee.same european clause under which we got Matthews. if Ajax are in for him then we can defo afford him.

Agree with Paul about us crying out for a proper no 9, wasted millions on Murphy bangura pukki balde etc, vin

Would much rather have ceftci of DU, only 21. Gauld too, he's going to be a cracker.

The kids in Scotland I would be keeping an eye for the future would be Stuart Armstrong/Ryan Gauld at D Utd, maybe their left back Robertson too. I'm all for buying home grown talent - but not for the sake of it! The only criteria that matters is quality/consistency, and to be fair to the lad Armstrong he seems to have been a stand out for them for the last 2/3 years, that's the last 2 seasons I'm sure he's scored against us at Parkhead - he's also a modern midfield player, tall/strong/technical. Paul

Let's face it, we won't be going much further in Europe this season with the squad we have, so we night as well focus on getting a goalscorer to secure the double again. If we went after Stevie May I'd be delighted, seen a lot of the kid at Hamilton last year and he done wonders! One of my mates trained with Alloa's first team a couple of seasons ago as well and say he's an incredible player with a decent head on his shoulders! Stevie May and Billy McKay in January wouldn't actually upset me, surprisingly.

Out of the summer signings vvd is the only one doing it.and come jan yet again in another transfer window we are 2 or 3 quality players short.the scouts, manager etc really have to get this right with the players we need

Does no one else not find it worrying that we have to go to St Johnstone and Dundee Utd to buy their players. We are the biggest club in the country and our academy produces nothing of any note and hasn't done for years. Maybe it is time to change the people running the academy and bring in the guys from Dundee Utd! or maybe these people have faith in their kids and give them a chance while our management team constantly stick with the same people every week and then complain they are tired.have faith in the youth they won't let you down, they just need a chance.

Yeah, I think you're spot on Ally, - I don't think our kids(Celtic) are technical enough, I am always saying it, you hear about these supposed great kids coming through at 16/17, and by the time they are 20 they have disappeared! I remember saying to my mates years ago that we should have brought in youth coaches from France/Holland/ Spain/Argentina-if you look at all the different youth tournaments, they consistently produce the best players, and they are all more technical - we cannot pass the ball. Belgium and Germany completely overhauled their systems a few years ago and look at them now, they took action instead of talking about it. Cheers, Paul

You guys are on my wave length. Our yongsters don't get a chance. I repeat what I said months ago. All the Lions except Craig and Chalmers played first team football as teenagers.

People keep saying how kids from other countries are wonderkids, amazing footballers, the next. fill in your own blanks, yet we never hear that from our kids. I watched Celtic 19's play AC MIlan and Barcelona in the last month and it was painful. Against Milan it was the long ball game and against Barcelona it was the chasing shadows and trying to rough them up game. In this country we have a wonderful coaching program call Coerver. It is only now starting to be recognised for producing talented footballers who can do something different when they have the ball. My kids have worked with this for 5 years and although presented with the opportunity to go to Celtic, Hearts, Hibs, Rangers I decided to take them to Livingston. The reason, John Collins was running the football development side and Coerver was the coaching model. John has now left but his legacy is still there and my boys and a couple of others have recently done some filming with him for Sky demonstrating how to beat people, step overs, feints, dummies, basically all the things our players years ago could do. Things will never change until; the people running the show decide to change. Look at Dortmund, nearly bankrupt a decade ago, decided to go down the youth route, coached the kids the right way, supplemented that with some foreign players who had ability and there you have a wonderful team to watch. let's be honest our 1st team is awful to watch, no creativity, nothing to get you up out of your seat. no Lubo, Naka, Henrik. in fact all very mediocre. If our kids are good enough to win every trophy going and we spend millions on our academy then why are we not producing the best players this country has ever seen, we have the facilities, the "coaches", the time with the players yet we just don't see them in the 1st team. is that NL's fault, is he to scared to give them a chance.
