So your laddie is 21 and he's been with a team since he was a bairn, has everything and won so much, paid well and then offered a big life changing contract tripling his salary etc etc (as a Celtic father what would you do)

As a Celtic father you've worked with a company for 10 years have everything and feel well rewarded for the contribution you've made to the success of that business. Some big business comes calling and offers to triple your wages and lots of add on's, family support you and you think you can develop your career even more to further support your family in the years to come!

Get a grip those who are having a go at a young lad who's given everything. Nearly everyone of us would opt for the big business offer. that unless you lack the confidence in your own ability to progress further . KT obviously feels he can!

Imagine having the opportunity to watch your laddie play in one of the biggest leagues in the world (financially ) ! NO BRAINER.

Well said Tony, but some people don't want to see the truth. HH.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 18:31:52
Your on 25k a week, surrounded by friends and family. At your DREAM job. You know the place inside out and in 2 years you will have achieved so much that you will have written your name into history books.
At 25k a week, you can have any house/ houses u want. Any car / cars u want. Set your family up for life.

But u instead choose more money, for an unknown quantity. With no friends or family around? what's the point.

3.) 09 Aug 2019 18:45:56
KT was a massive fan of the club and the connection he built with the supporters was incredible. For such a young lad of 18 years old coming through the youth system and to have this instant bond with the fans, changed his life overnight.
He worshipped the fans and the fans treated him like a god.
For such a young man living in the west of scotland, it must have been tough. He wouldn't have got a minute in this fish bowl life. One set of fans loving him and the other non Celtic fans possibly giving him criticism and verbal abuse.
In London he will be recognised but I think he will be able to live a better life away from football. Although his father and he rest of his family are Celtic mad, I would imagine they would feel that KT will also be safer down south.
They will be hoping their young son can live as normal a life as possible because his dad will know fine well these next 2 years are going to be bedlam up in scotland.
If I was KT I would stay but if my son was KT, I would want him to leave.

4.) 09 Aug 2019 18:58:09
Ton66 spot on mate. Its disgusting all the abuse he is getting from so called supporters.

Doesnt matter if Tierney is a celtic supporter or not. He has achieved all he is going to achieve in scottish game and deserves right to test himself at higher level.

5.) 09 Aug 2019 19:08:56
The harsh reality is that this will become more common the longer we remain in Scotland. Unfortunately Scottish Football is dead, with no prospect of real investment from the big TV companies we will continue to fall behind clubs in the largest leagues in Europe. The gap has never been bigger in terms of financial packages on offer. The question is, would we trade all the trophies for a shot at the EPL? Quit Scotland and start in the lowest division and work our way up.

6.) 09 Aug 2019 19:54:30
JungleGaz i like how people think anyone that leaves club its money motivated yet any talk of a player wanting to leave to test himself at a higher level is immediately classed as manure.

If i was 22 and had played over 180 games for club, won countless trophies and awards I would want to test myself at a higher level whilst i still had chance. Selfish of any supporter to slate him for having ambition.

7.) 09 Aug 2019 20:33:49
I wish him all the best he gave his ALL for the club when he was here you can't ask for more and can't say otherwise. I can't see the problem with him wanting to better himself Good luck we man.

8.) 09 Aug 2019 20:41:19
So you would leave on the verge of 9 and 10 in a row . Ok

And do u think he would have went to arsenal if celtic were paying 85k?

KT was always going to get the chance to try something new, its the timing of it that has surprised many of us.

9.) 09 Aug 2019 23:15:25
Yes he still would of went to Arsenal if club was paying 85k and yer head is clearly up your rear if you think he would stay. Playing teams like Hearts, Dundee, Livingston for prime of career and knock back chance to play Man United, Man City, Liverpool etc? Aye right

9/ 10 in a row is no reason for any player to stay.

10.) 10 Aug 2019 00:03:38
If they match the 85 grand the yes I think he still goes.

11.) 10 Aug 2019 00:04:31
The timing surprised many of you because you were being naive jungle and thinking his heart would rule his head.

The debate on who our next manager will be is as bad as Brexit the now. pretty
Much a 50/ 50 split but after today's game would say 70/ 30 against? Anyway so much garbage written about Lennon's Team etc etc. many a game last year under BR we were poor (at least until before the break) . the guy is doing well picking up the pieces after that rat left on the last train south! As to whether or not he will manager next season who knows but for fans to boo after todays game a thought was disgraceful! he's unbeaten since coming in! For me a cannot see the Board going for another big name,
Once bitten twice shy etc etc . NL is PL man and PL tends to get his way these days . HH.

1.) 06 Apr 2019 23:40:32
No matter who is in place for 9 in a row they will always have my backing 100%. Wihelmus Marinus Anthonius Jansen for the 10th! The young team won't have a clue who the Legend was. His gift too us was stopping the rotten mob for 10 and signing the King of Kings!

2.) 06 Apr 2019 23:46:30
How is it once bitten twice shy. It basically didn't cost us a penny to employ a top manager in Rogers.
Its common knowledge that NL and PL had some major run ins during the last time around so I certainly wouldn't say NL is a PL man.

26 Feb 2019 10:27:18
Clearly the fall out last summer has never been mended, amazes me to see Rafa being quoted as a target, if we cannot match BR ambitions then how we going to achieve Rafa's ambitions. It will be Lennon or Clarke to ensure PL keep his stranglehold over everything to do with transfers etc as for BR living the dream all a lot of bull, chance of treble treble and he's off at first sniff of a job .

Ton66

1.) 26 Feb 2019 10:41:15
Brendan gave us all the Celtic are bigger than most and it's his dream job, and yes he's mentioned our environment holds us back and stunts our ambition, but going to Leicester where's the ambition what they did a few years ago will never be done again, and they might be offering better money but al wager he's fairly well off.

14 Jan 2019 21:43:56
Amazes me why some fans want to see loan deals for Wanyama and McCarthy when both have had long term injuries and not back to full fitness, we going to take them and and help rehabilitation process for a few months?

Ton66

1.) 14 Jan 2019 22:13:19
latest rumour just sent to me is vincent jannsen of spurs (supposedly from Celtic press room? )
The source was same one who "assured" me that Yaya Toure was definite
lol.

2.) 14 Jan 2019 22:16:33
Jansen was ruled out weeks ago.

3.) 14 Jan 2019 22:18:46
We should almost never take any player back who has left the club. It should be known that players get one chance at Celtic and if they choose to leave, there’s no way back for them. I would make exceptions for guys like Liam Henderson as he didn’t want to leave.

4.) 14 Jan 2019 23:09:03
Almost never; is, well, self explanatory.

5.) 14 Jan 2019 23:12:11
I agree COYBIG different if a player had given a good few years and not just a season or two.

We don't operate as a respectful club. We pimp ourselves out nowadays.

Which is fine to an extent but should not be a long term plan.

6.) 14 Jan 2019 23:59:12
I have no problem players coming back if they are still in prime of their career and not just wanting whined down with a final pay day.
Not that I think it will happen but wanyama would greatly improve our midfield so he'd be more than welcome home.

7.) 14 Jan 2019 23:59:45
Just to be clear, the only exceptions in my book are guys who didn’t choose to leave the club. That means it should be a flat NO to Wanyama, Forster, Roberts. Armstrong, Dembele, Van Dyke.

8.) 15 Jan 2019 07:07:26
If van djyk, the best centre back in the world right now, was available and wanted to sign for us you'd chase him? Thank feck your not in charge at parkhead.

9.) 15 Jan 2019 07:37:44
So hypothetically speaking at say the age of 29/ 30 you wouldn’t have VVD, Wanyama, Roberts, dembele in your team? These guys didn’t leave Celtic the club because of mass fall outs or because the hated the club. They left because if the league and standard of Scottish football. Again hypothetically, if we played in the EPL, were we’d be in a level playing field financially Andy could attract all the top players, do you think the guys mentioned would’ve been chapping to get out the club?

10.) 15 Jan 2019 07:56:54
Yeah because van dyke says to us he wants to come back. we are clearly going to say no haja.

11.) 15 Jan 2019 09:02:05
Can undwrstand players wanting to test themselves in a better league and also wanting to earn more money etc and sometimes we just have to experience that the grass is not always greener on the other side. I think however if a player wants to come back then he enters into our pay structures and doesn't pretend to receive the same salary he was getting elsewhere.

12.) 15 Jan 2019 17:14:28
Kev83, the point is, as soon as you start taking players back, it sends the wrong message to others who might fancy a shot at the pub league because what have they got to lose? They can always come back if it doesn’t work out. So yes, I would say no to Van Dyke as well. Let me ask another question. Would you be happy to bring in Van Dyke and then lose Tierney, Calmac, Christie and Forrest in the next window?

13.) 15 Jan 2019 18:10:37
I don’t think is sends any message to current players if an ex player comes back. Money talks these days and most ( not all) will have there head turned by the dough. It’s like any line of work, if another company offers you double your money your off, if not your seriously considering it. The players you’ve mentioned ie, VVD, Wanyama, Forster, dembele, Armstrong even, each one of those players would enhance our squad no end. Just because they left to play ( what they feel is a higher level) shouldn’t mean the door is shut on a possible return some day. I’ll ask you a question COYBIG, a fully fit Forster or Gordon in goals for you? A VVD in defence or a boyata, jozo, hendry? There’s two out your list would be in my back four right now no question.

14.) 15 Jan 2019 19:23:56
As far as ability goes, I would agree with you but how long would they be there? 12 months, maybe 18, before they follow the money again and then we’re probably in a worse position than we started because we then have to find two players of the right ability, who are the right age, who are available, who we can afford, who will accept our wage structure, who won’t move at the first opportunity to Bournemouth or Huddersfield for 30 pieces of silver, who have a good attitude. and that’s not easy.

Listening to talksport earlier and Jim white asked George Galloway if he was worried about the potential of Rangers winning the league, GG's response was classic . "If my Aunty had a beard she'd be my uncle" HH.

He's even more of a fud than I thought. Doesn't even make sense.

2.) 09 Jan 2019 17:26:10
I'm assuming Jim White hit him with a load of "ifs" before he said that?

3.) 09 Jan 2019 19:52:08
Aye, probably right but he's still a fud.

Anyone that suggests it will be Lennon or McKay hasn’t a clue! Amazing all these reliable sources kicking about the now with none of them proving very reliable so far!

Well said Timmalloy, as a club our poor recruitment process has enabled the other lot to get closer to us. We should have been so far ahead of them by now 10in a row would have been a foregone conclusion. We’re screaming for a rightback yet it seems impossible to get one, why is that? Either BR doesn’t think we need one as he’s got 2 internationals (his quote) or the players he’s identifying PL won’t pay the money! All bull during transfer windows.

We clearly have a disconnect with BR and PL which has proved embarrassing to say to the least, BR pre-match last night that MD wasn’t going anywhere as we don’t have replacement and post match states “anything can happen in 24hrs”. tonight MD appears to be away and no sign of a replacement . manager will be away next decent job on EPL anyone thinks otherwise is delusional . Negativity around our goings on this summer has been shocking . anyway HH onwards and upwards, pump that lot Sunday 🍀.
