Celtic trying to put together a deal for big zlatan 1 year contract. Favouring a move to the US though.

THEBIGTIM

1.) 10 Jun 2017 12:29:21
Stay aff it big man.

2.) 10 Jun 2017 12:35:48
That would be hilarious if true. Know he's made noises like many others about wanting to play for us one day but just cannot see it. Can you imagine big Zlatan in a barney with the likes of Jon Souttar?

3.) 10 Jun 2017 12:45:19
No chance! He'd get - fortune in mls.

4.) 10 Jun 2017 13:06:40
I am sure he is out for nearly the rest of this year that was why ManU did not give him the one year extension so can't see us being interested.

5.) 10 Jun 2017 19:25:11
yeah he'll be great for the qualifiers

in 2018

when he's fit

an playing in England, Spain, France, Germany, USA or China.

6.) 10 Jun 2017 23:38:36
More nonsense.

7.) 11 Jun 2017 07:04:17
hahahaha.

30 Jan 2017 17:48:58
Anyone heard anything regarding Chelsea wanting dembele? Apparently Celtic won't consider a bid lower than 40million. Can't see it myself but it's being reported on sky app 😳😳😳

THEBIGTIM

1.) 30 Jan 2017 17:54:04
Crazy money! Would take anything over £25m

2.) 30 Jan 2017 18:21:48
If they offered that, and that's a big if, we should take it imo, its far too much to knock back. Business is business. We can and could knock it back, but then there's the question of what if he gets injured, loses form badly etc. Got to strike while the irons hot i feel.

3.) 30 Jan 2017 18:39:55
"If" we had to sell Gordon and dembele we could make 44million on 2 basically free transfers that crazy money for a Scottish team to make on 2 players!

4.) 30 Jan 2017 19:14:16
We shouldn't sell. Keep him few more seasons, he keeps improving, market keeps inflating, we get 60m

5.) 30 Jan 2017 19:28:32
I get what your saying phil, but its too big a gamble mate.

6.) 30 Jan 2017 19:31:12
Apparently they have put in bid of 40 million euros about 34 million pounds will be difficult to turn down but not sure player is intrested

7.) 30 Jan 2017 20:15:40
Why would an English club bid in euros when both countries are in the UK?

8.) 30 Jan 2017 20:46:07
Only passing on what's on Celtic news now page think that report came from France so may account for the euros part

9.) 30 Jan 2017 20:42:53
If i thought we'd use even half the money of the dembele cash (20m) to put back in to summer transfer kitty I would say sell

But I think we no celtic by now, sell for 40m and buy a replacement for 4m

And the rest put into the pocket of dermo the Desmonds

10.) 30 Jan 2017 20:42:00
Ed, you got anything on this mate? Seems to have started with sky but it does make for a crazy story.

{Ed007's Note - I'm not surprised that Chelsea have joined the list of clubs interested in Demebele, it doesn't mean they'll get anywhere as he's not for sale.}

11.) 30 Jan 2017 21:16:33
I personally don't want the club to sell him unless he wants to go . I understand 40 million is massive money but we fell incredibly lucky with him. Say we sold him and obviously bought another forward in the summer to replace him, what if he didn't hit the ground running and we miss out on the champions league. That 40 million would then be only be worth 10 million because of lost revenues. If he wants to go, sell him after our qualifiers.

12.) 30 Jan 2017 21:19:47
If this was early in the window I would maybe entertain it but we would have no chance of getting replacements in at this late stage. Anyway personally think it's a lot of 💩 More the media trying to unsettle us again. hh 🍀

13.) 30 Jan 2017 21:29:28
sell for £40m and have it as part of the deal we get him back on an 18 month loan. couldn't see him playing regularly for them with Costa still there

14.) 30 Jan 2017 21:48:41
I would say that we have Griffiths as a backup but he seems to have taken over Derk Boerrigter's medical bed. He has been out injured quite a few times this season and can't be relied on like he was last season.

15.) 30 Jan 2017 22:07:44
we would have to take a big offer I'm afraid

it would be crazy business not too.

and perhaps a sell on clause too.

16.) 30 Jan 2017 23:09:43
Lots of sense here, on both sides. I think the prevailing notion is that if he wants to go we shouldn't stand in his way so long as that 40M goes the other way. I don't see anything to suggest that he wants to go (credit to him and his manager either way) .

To hold on to a player valued at that kind of money would be a statement of intent, tho, wouldn't it? Notice to Europe's elite that we're coming out next year with the intent to go toe-to-toe.

Is that sort of symbolism worth 40M over the next 5 seasons or so? You better believe it. 'Optics' is the fashionable word these days: but it means that the best young talent and the established pros with thing differently about Celtic Football Club going on. Keep him I say - even if it is no more than a status symbol (and he's so much more than that) .

17.) 31 Jan 2017 09:03:10
I'd hate to see him go but 34mill!? Problem we would have is that we realistically can only spend 4-5 million to replace as players costing more than this expect higher wages which would unbalance the squad, however I'd have no problem buying 2 4 Mill strikers in, as I think we need 3 good ones at the club and putting 8 mill in for paddy Roberts. Still leaves 18 mill for the coffers. Now that is great business for a 500k outlay

18.) 31 Jan 2017 10:20:51
We really don't need the money. Yes it will fill the coffers but this bhoy is a massive talent who seems to love wearing our hoops.
Is this what it has come to?
Fans wanting us to sell one of our best players because a team is supposedly willing to spend silly money.
Say we do sell him, that's the bhoy gone and we could spend all the 40mill on players who might not even live up to their price tag

Hearing that we are after Robson Kanu! I haven't paid much attention to the guy but his goal the other night shows he has something. Made the Belgian defence look foolish

THEBIGTIM

1.) 03 Jul 2016 07:25:06
Seen that in a couple of the papers could be a good signing.

2.) 03 Jul 2016 11:44:16
I posted that rumour about 10 days ago and got slaughtered on here. Sadly with Robson Kanu doing so well the EPL clubs will offer bigger wages.

3.) 03 Jul 2016 12:06:28
We can offer him European football trophies and decent wages, it really depends what he's looking for at this stage in his career Tim.

4.) 03 Jul 2016 14:06:27
Don't let Friday's goal fool you, he's bang average. And we have enough players who fall into that category already without signing another!

5.) 04 Jul 2016 10:25:26
Absolutely, the guy does one turn and all of a sudden he is a world beater, look at his goal scoring record and then come back and tell us if you are still desperate to sign him!

01 Jul 2016 15:33:07
Page has been really quiet recently lads. Nothing new in the pipeline or any targets to watch out for?

THEBIGTIM

1.) 01 Jul 2016 17:44:28
Steven Caulker apparently.

2.) 01 Jul 2016 18:32:21
Caulker is being sounded out as a backup Kev the two defensive targets are Duffy and Toure but Toure's wage demands may be stumbling block to move instead for Caulker.

3.) 01 Jul 2016 18:52:29
If take Caulker, much more solid than ambrose and his heir to the bombs are throne, Boyata!

I'd have thought his wages would be crazy too having been at QPR recently - well known they threw silly money about for very average players. Barton, Krancjar (sorry about spelling) to name two 😂😂😛😛.

4.) 01 Jul 2016 19:51:02
I really wonder which role simunovic will have at the club once he returns from injury. Looked promising but obviously wouldn't habe a chance if a toure came on big wages.

5.) 01 Jul 2016 22:29:43
From what little i've seen of simunovic in a celtic shirt he's at least looked solid and likes to drill the ball forward makes some nice passes but time will tell hopefully him and erik the viking strike a partnership.

6.) 02 Jul 2016 11:49:14
wisdom rum our up and running again, supposedly in Glasgow, probably pish, but it's a rumours site. so I posted it, Caulker would be my preference over Toure and Duffy, 24 and if we got him on a permanent deal would make money in a couple of years, on 30k a week at QPR apparently, Duffy is a good shout too. definite upgrades on what we've signing, bar Erik of course.

08 Jun 2016 15:15:54
Ed, do you know if Celtic have a sell on clause on wanyama? Tottenham reportedly offering 20+million for him

THEBIGTIM

{Ed007's Note - We've got a 10% sell-on clause on Wanyama but that is only on any profit Southampton make.}

1.) 08 Jun 2016 16:51:34
Is that the same clause we have on all 3 Southampton players Ed? The media are making it out as if we are due to make a fortune, when in reality if all 3 went for £25mil we'd get about £4million. Suppose its a transfer fee for a good player but hardly a huge amount. Better than nothing though as long as its reinvested in the team!

{Ed007's Note - That's how all sell on clauses work mate.}

2.) 08 Jun 2016 17:16:32
LM67 it's an outstanding deal for us to make even more money after we've already sold each of them for millions of profit

3.) 08 Jun 2016 19:54:00
I'm not complaining, just saying that the media are making it out as if we are due a fortune. £4mil would maybe be a huge windfall for some teams in Glasgow but not us ;)

4.) 08 Jun 2016 20:10:48
Thats the media for you. Cretinous rodents.

5.) 09 Jun 2016 19:32:58
Anything extra is a bonus. Southampton are the real winners 3 first team players for under 35m.

Joe Ledley released by CP, would take him back in a heartbeat. What's everyone's thoughts on that?

THEBIGTIM

20 May 2017 22:49:31
Has anyone read the article from the daily ranger stating and I quote " teirney is a decent player but the best young talent in Scotland is Barrie McKay "! Honestly what are those guys smoking over there. Just bizarre.

THEBIGTIM

1.) 20 May 2017 23:36:26
I'm sure that was their resident Rangers opinion columnist. It was also months ago.

01 Feb 2017 10:03:46
Don't know about you bhoys! But I'm glad that transfer window is over. Not bothered about no one coming in, just glad the board stuck by BR word that no 1st team players were leaving this window. As much as the speculation excited me around big moussa. I'm glad he's still here, at least until the end of next seasons CL qualifiers (I hope).

Also of note, we've loaned the bhoy fasan to port vale, strange lol. Hope big efe goes to Blackburn and does well, always liked him as a man but his time with us was over after fenerbache. Hail hail lads. Onwards and upwards. If that's even possible. As you can tell, yes, I'm on the swaldo 👍🏻😂

THEBIGTIM

27 Jan 2017 17:43:52
Just curious troops. What positions do u think we need to improve on to go further than the group stages of CL? I know domestically we have a superior squad. But what do we REALLY need to go further in Europe?

THEBIGTIM

1.) 27 Jan 2017 18:04:17
Goalkeeper, right back and another nippy winger if Roberts goes back to City.

2.) 27 Jan 2017 18:18:47
Brendan Rodgers rates Craig Gordon don't know a keeper without faults but the big man for me should stay for a few years yet we're going for a record on Sunday you don't do that with a bad keeper get off the mans back and

3.) 27 Jan 2017 18:51:29
We've got the right manager I believe but we need a Henrik Larsson up front a Paul McStay in central midfield and a Paul Elliot commanding the box is central defence. Find all three and I'll die a happy man! 🍀

4.) 27 Jan 2017 19:54:27
We need more than a few of good quality still for cover I'd say. If the starters are all fit I'd still want a tall cf option or another am that could do it late in a game. The biggest thing for me is a solid defensive rw. When we are under the cosh against the better sides we don't have that.

5.) 27 Jan 2017 22:04:32
Number 10 priority . center back baldy mould but bit more mobile and quick . winger to replace Roberts . right back and another quick striker. think if rodgers got those in by summer and they were sinclair and dumbele quality wed be a force to reckon with.

6.) 28 Jan 2017 00:05:40
@jfp88 - I've found them! Henrik's in Sweden, Paul's in Australia and Elliot's in London. Now don't be going and doing anything stupid, there's still plenty of time for you on this Earth.

7.) 28 Jan 2017 08:28:10
Well done Onion Jack! You could maybe get a job scouting for your own club? The 3 of them could still get a game for your mob 👍🍀

27 Jan 2017 17:10:09
Ed, do u see any new arrivals coming before the window shuts? I would have thought BR would want to bed some new faces in before next seasons CL qualifiers

THEBIGTIM

{Ed007's Note - January's always difficult to sign players but I'm hopefully confident that there will be someone brought in before the window closes. There's no point signing players just for the sake of it, we've already got a massive squad with plenty of mediocre players that need to be moved on.}

1.) 27 Jan 2017 19:06:01
Any word on James mc carthy ed?

{Ed007's Note - Celtic and Newcastle are the two options on the table - WBA signed Livermore after getting tired of Everton's stalling on making a decision - and there's a slim chance of Everton trying to use him in part of a deal to get Kone from Sunderland which I can't see happening as I doubt McCarthy wants to get involved in a relegation battle that they already look like losing.}

For crying out load Celtic! Just offer the 8 million for the bhoy! All this low bidding does my head in. We would definitely recoup any money we spend when he eventually moves on. Get it done fs! I would be happy with just paddy and no other signings.

We're not lacking a creative midfielder. If Celtic can get rogic 100% fit then we will have 1 of the most creative midfielders in Europe! I honestly think that on his day, that bhoy could tear anyone to shreds.

You just posting what ed already said earlier? If Biton leaves it won't be for championship in my opinion. For a run of the mill European team. That's the style of play he suits. Too slow for the British game.
