Anyone else noticed that Peter lawwell has been pretty quiet? Normally he is at the front with the cats smile in these situations. As far as I know he is no where in site.

He gave a statement about BR's appointment earlier

2.) 21 May 2016 00:21:45
He is on the naughty step.

3.) 21 May 2016 02:11:20
He's sick at the money we're paying him.

He is getting his brass neck its annual polish.

Ed do you personally think the players aren't playing for the manager? If not what do you think is the problem with the team? Quality? Leadership? Cohesion? Tactics? Not putting you on the spot but you usually call it like it is.

PedroCelt

{Ed007's Note - It's a lack of confidence for me Pedro. The team is playing with no confidence with nobody stepping up and taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Playing Brown and Mulgrew together was a blunder as it's obvious neither of them are 100% fit.}

1.) 03 Mar 2016 21:23:56
Agree with that ed, there have been many poor performances this season but last night for me proved there are major problems behind the scenes between management and players.The lack of effort was clear to see. When was the last time we never created a worthwhile chance against SPL opposition at home. The last 5 mins of game told a story for me ,we have always pressed hard in games like that when needing a goal and more often than not we find a goal, but last night we were the team hanging on. Breaks my heart watching a Celtic team showing no effort and accepting results like last night's.

2.) 03 Mar 2016 21:29:18
I'm quite pleased we haven't got a league match this weekend, with a lack of confidence in the squad there might have been a good chance that we would have dropped more points if another game was coming up so soon.
I know it's tempting fate, but even with confidence being low, we should still have far too much for Morton on Sunday, if we can get a decent result in that match, plus a week's training before the next match, I'm hoping the players will be in a better frame of mind by the time we play Partick Thistle.

{Ed007's Note - Sunday's match can't come quick enough for me and hopefully we can get an early goal to settle the nerves and help get us back into our possession rhythm.}

3.) 03 Mar 2016 22:33:35
Ed it's Morton.

{Ed007's Note - I know who it is but there's some of us that don't want a repeat of the last time we played them in a cup at CP. That was a more embarrassing result than anything that's happened under RD.}

4.) 04 Mar 2016 12:00:47
what gets me is that watchin celtic recently is like watchin paint dry!
we play 6 passes tae get oot ae our own half then say another 10 cross field passes, then a quick wan two tae get the cross in!
meanwhile the opposition players are walkin yes walkin back into position to win the ball back which they ALWAYS DO then they play 3 mibee 4 passes forward to get to where we always wanted to be in the first place?
n you wonder how a take a kin drink AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGggggggHhhhh!

ED do you know any of the ins or outs of the Ajer deal? Seemed like it was almost a done deal and then vanished without a trace.

PedroCelt

{Ed007's Note - He'll more than likely come in this summer.}

1.) 02 Feb 2016 19:31:49
What you got on Elyounoussi Ed?

My pipedream is that obviously Molde still being in Europe was going to make any move for him tricky, and that sending Ciftci out keeps him fit for some sort of swap deal. Can only hope.

{Ed007's Note - We got Kazim-Richards instead.}

2.) 02 Feb 2016 19:50:36
Do you think the deal hinges on Ronnie being in the hotseat?

{Ed007's Note - Nah. I don't think there's any question of RD being manager.}

3.) 02 Feb 2016 22:45:49
Thanks mate. But no thanks.

I have to agree to an extent with the original poster. Armstrong hasn't done anything standout for me and hasn't so far impressed me. He isn't a left winger. Yaya Toure is a box to box midfielder and he has none of his traits. Petrov was a box to box midfielder- in my opinion doesn't look anything like petrov. I don't think he is a bad player but isn't compatible in the current system. I would say it's a culture shock mixed with out of position and a garnish of injury that hasn't allowed us to see the real product but as always with Celtic fans - his clock is ticking. Some fans seem to have a lot of faith in potential. Potential isn't right now that's still to come so you can't justify his current form by saying he has great potential. We need people who are actually doing it right now.

Exactly mate hasn't impressed me either, we can't afford to be spending £1.75M on average squad players and for me that's what Armstrong is. I'd like to know Rayman the attributes you feel that Armstrong possesses which would make him a good box to box midfielder? Because from what I see he has none of those traits which are required for that sort of role.

2.) 22 Oct 2015 10:04:54
I don't think it's anything to do with potential with Armstrong, it's the fact he's only been at the club about 8 months. I think he has played well in games, - he hit the ground running, along with GMS, both were the best players on the pitch against Inter, it's GMS that's done nothing this season. Of course they both have to kick on now, they're not kids, but are just in the door. It's guys like Forrest that kill me, especially when people talk about his potential, - he's been in the team 5 years, not 8 months! What I like about Armstrong is I think he is a modern midfielder, - he's over 6' good energy, technically good, and can get a goal. I prefer him more centrally, and if he can add a little bit more dig I think he could play beside Biton for example in the 2 man midfield when playing a 4231. I mean a few years down the line. He's also got a great temperament, and seems like a good guy, he's one of the recent signings I'm actually happy about! He's obviously never a winger though and that's why he plays left of the 3, - so he can cut on to his right foot. Even in the long term if Johansen and Biton stay you could play both of them as the 2 holding midfielders, 1 is right footed/1 left, Johansen plays there for Norway also, and play Armstrong behind the striker. I think at the moment with Brown and Biton playing Ronny is trying to fit in Johansen/Commons/Armstrong to the 3 in front of them, and they are all better central. And before people start freaking out about the system - these players are even less suited to a 442 because that would mean 2 playing even more on the touch line. And a 433 is just a slight variation off a 4231 because you still have the 1 striker, 2 wide players who are playing a bit more narrow. I think if we had another couple of top strikers it would make a huge difference, and give us options in different games.

3.) 22 Oct 2015 12:22:10
I just read the other posts below JimTim, I don't want you thinking I'm blagging your ideas about Armstrong and Forrest - great minds and all that. Like yourself probably I just find Forrest so frustrating because everyone has been raving about him since He made his debut (and actually scored) especially Lennon, - he's in his mid 20's now, I think he is very predictable, he knocks it past the full back and beats him for pace on the outside. He is super quick, has good balance, but I think he is average technically and doesn't really have a football brain, unlike Armstrong. He doesn't score enough either or play with the head up, so his final ball/crosses are pot luck. He's out of contract in a few months, along with Mulgrew, I wouldn't be that bothered if we just let them both go. For me Mulgrew is goodish in a few positions but not really good in any, and if you gave Forrest a new 3/4 year deal we don't know if he'll actually ever fulfill this supposed potential, or stay fit. The little bits of Nesbitt I've seen have impressed me, he's another that is a no 10, and looks very technical, he reminds me of a young Joe Cole type, he's very slight though, if he can get a bit stronger, keep the head he might be a better option going forward. Talking of players being slight, I hope the young players at Lennoxtown aren't being treated like Oliver Twist and are scared to ask for second helpings for lunch, surely Peter Lawwell hasn't gone that far, it's just all the 18/19/20 year olds we bring through are needing to fill out O'Connell/Henderson/Tierney/Nesbitt and even the other 2 lads I've seen a bit of - Donnelly and Thompson. DH will like this, - as he knows I was looking for rugby league esque players!

Old bhoy that's a lot of nonsense about McCourt. His lack of athleticism and stamina were what his flaws were and for a team like Celtic they are in the top bracket for things that must be part of the players make up. McCourt had skill but was more unfit than Tom rogic. Bad news about his wife though hope she's alright.

Scott Brown - what a performance from that man. Also Dembele and Sinclair never stopped running. The whole back 4 played excellent and so did Forrest. Who have I missed?

Leigh griffiths isn't a left midfielder so I would be pissed if I was Forrest or Roberts and griffiths gets in before me. Playing players out of position is a bad move take a look at Armstrong for an example.

You must have missed the last few minutes bud because the reflex save after the deflection was absolute brilliant.
