Think Celtic would have put a lid on it if it didn’t meet his agents expectations/ demands. Think it’s a great deal all round if it gets over the line. Looking forward to seeing him in our central midfield for years to come.

In my humble opinion Greg Taylor will not take Celtic forward. Time to let him go. I’ll be frustrated if he takes to the field next season in a meaningful fixture, even as backup. I struggle to forget Dortmund, Bayern, the league cup final, to name a few recent ones. His shortcomings in these fixtures (and others before) were glaring.
I don’t doubt Greg Taylor has a good attitude, a good guy by all accounts. At the highest level however he is not strong, either physically or defensively. He doesn’t have great pace and his distribution is erratic. He’s extremely weak in the air and his stamina is questionable. For Celtic, that’s ok in 70% of our fixtures. In the other 30% he’s a risk. Domestically, and with no disrespect to the Dundee’s and Killie’s, he understands the positional side of the inverted FB, but that’s it. At the level we should aspire to, he’s well short, and I don’t mean his height.
Given we have 70-80% possession (domestically) he doesn’t create nearly enough. If we accept he’s not there for his defensive attributes, then 6 goals in 150+ appearances isn’t an impressive return either, especially in our league.
I read a statement recently that Taylor wouldn’t get another Champions League Team… the implication therefore being we should keep him! That head banging logic says it all.
Surely there are younger (or older) , stronger, faster and better prospects out there.

I am not so sure Forrest needs to be replaced, two years ago there were posters on here who said he should leave as he wouldn’t get game time here . Forrest is still young enough and fit enough to give us another year or two good service especially if he is used wisely.

I saw we were linked with him this morning, never heard of him tbh but hopefully he's decent if we do decide to buy him, i still think we should sign another striker, i know daizen has been brilliant up front this season but if he gets injured can we really rely on adam idah to score goals consistently because he has never really been a prolific goalscorer for any club he has been at, he's good to have to bring on with half an our to go but i just don't hink he's good enough to be playing week in week out for us. as for the back line we definitely need at least 1 more centre half i don't think trusty is going to cut it at celtic, i like the guy but we can do much better and i've heard whispers of kris ajer returning so hopefully that is true id love to see him back but im not sure if there is any truth in that rumour. HH.

I don’t want a 3rd choice striker. I would really want 3 first choice strikers giving BR a task to think of which striker to start a match with and who to come on for last 20-30 mins, but I realise that may be in practice hard to have and so we are likely to have a first choice but should want two strikers battling out as to which of them are most likely to be used the most.

Celtic mad, I totally agree with you, but the best thing about the Celtic team under both Ange and Brendan, is that everyone playing has a specific role to play, when everyone is doing that we become very formidable and take control of game . It is difficult for some new players to adopt to their role at Celtic, so often new players take longer than some fans want to give them to settle in.
We have players doing “ glamour” roles at Celtic, for example Jota, Maeda Kuhn, Forrest and Yang, we can easily judge them on a game to game basis.
We have players like Engels, Taylor and often Johnston doing more of the donkey work stopping opponents, breaking up attacks, feeding the speed merchants. in my opinion they are harder to assess . I imagine BR and coaches have a far clearer picture of their worth than most fans.
Our team gave us very many memorable moments and performances, even in Europe we held our heads high and competed with the best . On one or two occasions luck and experience in CL let us down, hopefully we qualify and improve our CL eagle form.

Heard macca talking about idah on acsom, hot to say he's bang on he's a real talent who I've banged the drum for but his biggest flaw is not making the ball stick, sirt that and he's a top top player.

This season has definitely been a case of him adapting and finding his feet at Celtic. I know he was here on loan before but it's different when you've came in with a lot of scrutiny and a big fee. He'll still probably hit 20 goals but I expect him to push on again next season.

I think Idah has more problem with his game than just making the ball stick . For many periods of this season it appeared that Idah was just going through the motions .
However a good example after his late night taxi travels, Idah has looked very likely, worked hard during matches and scored a few goals, doing exactly whated manager BR wanted him to do .
A fully tuned in for all games Idah would be a very valuable part of our squad.

For a player with a lot of issues id say he's done ok. Strikers jobs are to score goals. He has 17 goals with a goal every 137min played. that's a very impressive goal return.
He has 3 CL goals also and has never started 3 games in a row.
People seem to forget but he is still on 24. He is still 5 years away from his peak.
Now i agree he can be frustrating to watch but the criticism he receives is bang out of order.
Im certain if he starts 40games he scores at least 30 goals.
I think its the same problem with engles. He can't seem to please people either because of the fee paid. They are both on the verge of being treble winners and helped us to our best performance in the CL in years.

I think Idah, is just a bang average striker, a good striker at a team like Celtic, should be either banging in a load of goals, or missing a load of chances, if he is going thru a lean spell or doing both, I think Dalton would be an improvement on Idah.
