Lennon has said the deal for Forster is just about dead. He has said he won’t wait much longer for an answer. Let’s hope we have a new keeper in time for the start of the season.

Higgins94

1.) 18 Jul 2020 00:18:15
Lenny definitely trying to get Forster deal over the line with thoughs comments.

2.) 18 Jul 2020 02:48:18
You’re comment was a double negative Higgins so it’s bull . “The deals dead but he won’t wait much longer”.

3.) 18 Jul 2020 08:29:13
Weewhitey I think you would be better toread the post properly before jumping in and saying it's bull. Just trolling looking for an opportunity.

4.) 18 Jul 2020 09:18:24
Probably looking to provoke a reaction from Forster and manage our expectations a bit.

I hope that the best keeper available has already been spoken to and that deal can be done quickly

The very last thing we need is a free agent coming in short it fitness and straight into the starting XI in an important game.

5.) 18 Jul 2020 09:54:23
We have a very good and fit keeper in Bain. HH.

6.) 18 Jul 2020 09:56:26
The Forster thing is a big disappointment obviously for us and the players and management. we really need to get the finger out and bring a keeper in straight away! If Bain got injured and we go into the start of a season like this with a youngster in then that would be unforgivable! We all want Fraser back, but the time has come now to move on and get someone else in ASAP! Don’t blame the big man at all and he’s been a colossal for us, but enough is enough and we move on! This season is far to important for all this uncertainty! Especially with the Griffiths fiasco at the othe end of the pitch!

7.) 18 Jul 2020 13:59:17
Wouldn’t be Celtic with no signings and player issues with 2 weeks for the season to start.

26 Jun 2020 22:25:31
The rumour about Joe Hart is not going away. I’d be concerned if we signed him over Forster. Apparently Southampton want to take another look at him over pre season and there’s a couple of teams down south looking at him. My question is if we don’t sign Forster and Gordon goes who would you like to see as no 1.

Higgins94

1.) 27 Jun 2020 00:09:06
I honestly think Joe Hart could be a very good signing for us, of course forster will be our number 1 target but the only way we won't sign him is if southampton refuse to sell him or there's too much money involved.
I don't think keepers lose there ability it's always going to be there, and with hart being 6ft 5 with massive experience in the premier league and champions league he could be a massive presence at the back for us, he's recently said he just wants to play and be part of a club and I think with him being in a free agent it would be a very shrewd move.
I mentioned it before on here, Craig gordon was in the wilderness before he signed for us and had been plagued by injuries and lost his form but came to us and was outstanding for a number of years, forster was out the team for nearly 2 years and came straight back and had a cracking season, a think sometimes a player just needs a confidence boost and time to rediscover there form and if Stevie woods has helped the 2 of them then why can't hart do the same.

2.) 27 Jun 2020 06:33:28
I agree with Mark. Big fraz has got to be out number 1 target but if that falls through then Joe Hart would do a job for us.

3.) 27 Jun 2020 08:53:46
Ed
Please tell me we aren't intrested in Joe Hart.

{Ed007's Note - I wish I could mate..... I wish I could.}

4.) 27 Jun 2020 12:19:32
Leigh Griffiths can practice his free kicks against him - and score every time! Hart is way, way past his best and we would be better looking abroad for a younger Polish or other East European 'keeper.

5.) 27 Jun 2020 13:51:14
I agree that Joe Hart is past his best, but can I ask what has Scott Bain done wrong to be not quoted by some fans for me he was doing fine until his injury. If it wasn’t for Motherwell cheating was he not on track for a record clean sheets.

6.) 27 Jun 2020 13:58:48
To be honest, I'd rather have Miranda Hart than Joe Hart - both allegedly comedy turns.

7.) 27 Jun 2020 14:20:58
Oldkilly Bain's form slumped towards the end of his run in the 1st team. He's not good enough though is OK as backup. Hart doesn't do it for me but if it was a choice between him and Bain it's Hart all day.

8.) 27 Jun 2020 20:57:20
I respect everyone's opinions on here but I'm actually really surprised with the amount of negativity towards hart on here, just because a player has had some difficult times and a few sloppy performances doesn't make them a bad keeper, form is temporary and class is permanent it's been proving time and time before.

A keeper with his experience and available on a free and a lot of folk wouldn't at least take a gamble on him and give him a chance baffles me, as for him being way past his best, apparently henrik larsson was past his best when he left us and the same could be said for lubo when he joined us, every player deserves a chance to prove themselves at this club.

9.) 27 Jun 2020 23:24:28
Gamble is the key word mate. Why would you take a gamble on one of the most important positions in the team in one of the most important seasons in the clubs history?

10.) 28 Jun 2020 00:33:46
Problem with Hart is that one mistake will heap a ton of pressure on him that we really don't need.

People expect him to fail so any error, no matter how small will be used against him n blown up.

Avoid Imho.

11.) 28 Jun 2020 06:50:21
MarkM88
Is it worth Gambling on 10 in a row. Hart comes in and doesn't find this class then what. He didn't find it at Torino, West ham or Burnley why should we be any different.

12.) 28 Jun 2020 08:02:05
Hart is far to error prone, the problem is if we were to get foster back most likely a loan at the tail end of the window and God knows when that will shut this year so we've got to try find someone, somebody said on here that foster was the best goalie he's seen at us in the last 40 off year and I couldn't agree more he's so good so safe so reliable noo how do you replace that certainly not with Hart.

13.) 28 Jun 2020 12:21:24
Totally understand this guys and youse all have valid points and I totally agree with us going for 10 next season it might be a big gamble but surely the same could be said for forster last season when he hadn't played a game for well over a year and we were going for 9? The point I'm trying to make here is that yes joe hart might make a few errors but he hasn't lost the ability as a keeper it's always there, its as if his confidence took a real hit when he was told straight he wasn't the keeper for guardiola and he just got sent out on loan to whoever would take him, that most likely would have affected his confidence and therefore his performances.

Massive season ahead no doubt about it, and I just want to make clear I think our first priority should be fraser forster and go all out for him because getting him at least for another year or getting edouard on another deal will be the best signing we can make this summer.

If it falls through though on the other hand, getting a keeper on board with Joe harts experience and presence in the hope lenny and Stevie woods get him working again shouldn't be sniffed at, players just need confidence and an arm around there shoulder and I don't think hart got that at the club's he went out on loan to, it would be more of a gamble in my opinion If we go with scott bain as our number 1 or bring in some unknown european who most likely will take time to settle and won't understand the importance of this season.

14.) 28 Jun 2020 21:46:41
Mark, while lenny and Stevie Woods work on him to get him his confidence back who is going to our No1 until that happens? Or is the idea to get him in and play hime without fans in the stadium? Joe Hart's body language is all shot to pieces and to be absolutely honest I wouldn't touch him. He's 33 years of age and a keeper of that age, who has lost his confidence, it would take a helluva long time to get it back.

15.) 27 Jun 2020 21:56:52
Joe Hart on a free and in our wage bracket would be a great bit of business imo, Woods improves every goalie that comes to us, Forster is still my No1 choice tho.

16.) 29 Jun 2020 09:16:11
I am almost laughing into my cornflakes, Joe Hart is rubbish, you guys who want rid off Graig Gordon, for, Joe Hart, ( unbelievable)
,

17.) 29 Jun 2020 09:17:46
Stengo, I understand that but who's to say it's going to take a while to bring his confidence up? Wasn't craig gordon 31 and had played 1 game in 3 years, plagued with injuries and confidence low, and he came in the summer of 2014 and was outstanding straight away.

That there in regards to gordon is the point I'm making that a keeper never loses there ability, if woodsy has improved forster and gordon then I'm sure he'll help hart do the same, besides 33 is helluva young for a goalkeeper.

31 May 2020 18:47:54
There is rumours on the Scottish s*n saying that we are linked with one of these 3 goalkeepers. Claudio Bravo, Joe Hart and Ben foster. That doesn’t excite me at all.

1.) 31 May 2020 18:55:10
I think we need to strengthen in a couple of areas with centre half top priority and I would try and sign Forster on a permanent deal ASAP after his form this season and I’d try and bring back Elyounoussi on loan if we can as I think the permanent deal would be too much thoughts?

{Ed007's Note - I agree and I'd be happy with that.}

2.) 31 May 2020 20:05:39
Ha ha Ed its all starting again 😂.

{Ed007's Note - 😢

3.) 01 Jun 2020 11:01:21
If Forster can’t be bought I’d take joe hart. He’s had a couple of dodgy years but I’d be confident Stevie woods would get him focussed again and back to form. He’s improved every keeper we have had recently and there is no doubt a sharp hart is a good keeper.

4.) 01 Jun 2020 13:16:28
Wouldn't touch Hart or Bravo with a barge pole fastened to a pole vault. Just watched the 3-3 Man City again a couple of nights ago and Bravo's positioning and reflexes were awful. It's Hart's reactions after losing goals which concern me. I'd bring back The Holy Goalie in his present state before I'd touch those two.

5.) 01 Jun 2020 15:55:37
Forster is a must even if again it's on loan. We would need 2 CB if Ajer leaves especially if we continue with the 3-5-2 or at least have it as a back up option. Definitely need a LW and possibly a decent back up RW to push Forrest/ give him a rest as Shved hasn't kicked on. RB is a concern as we may end up short if Elhamed gets injured unless we promote O'Conner up to first team squad.

6.) 02 Jun 2020 09:49:04
This clamour for Forster is very revealing, or is it?, does the majority of our supporters want to rely on a goalkeeper, who, because of his size and stature and ability (limited) , to win us games or achieve a win or draw from the jaws of defeat, or would they rather we play the kind of open, attractive, attacking football, where it doesn't matter how many goals we concede, because we know, we will always score more than the opposing team, or maybe our teamwork will be so good, that the defence is part of the attack and the attack is part of the defence.

I find this hero worship of Forster nauseating, he was like a frightened rabbit in the headlights in the league cup final, The rangers finishing was so bad the shots were bouncing of his shoulders and arms and he was being praised for it, let's get back to having a solid defence, a good central partnership and two fullbacks, who can defend, make the goal keeper position, something that is called upon at the last minute, not something that the whole team relies on to save them.

7.) 02 Jun 2020 13:01:23
Worst post I've read on here in a long time. I take it the penalty just bounced off him as well? Agree some of their finishing was atrocious but give Forster some credit we was rubbish and he kept us in the game.

8.) 05 Jun 2020 17:27:07
If Woods can make any sort of decent goalkeeper out of Hart, he should have a statue erected for him .

21 Aug 2017 13:39:53
Rumour is that we are trying to sign Chuba Akpom from Arsenal he is 21 year old and Leeds are trying to sign him aswell.

Higgins94

1.) 21 Aug 2017 14:10:21
Bloody hope not! rather we just went for one of our youngsters if that's the best we can do! Had a look at his recorded, been loaned out a few times and hardly a goal in sight! Thanks but no thanks!

{Ed007's Note - He seems lazy and he doesn't seem like the type of player that's willing to work hard to better himself and he has a serious attitude problem - the Brighton fans booed him off the park last season when he was on loan there.
I can't see there being any truth in this at all.}

2.) 21 Aug 2017 15:50:09
His scoring record is awful ED! And if your saying he's trouble then can't see this happening at all! Surely can do better than this! U heard anything more on wee paddy ED? Was hoping it would be done today or tomorrow.

{Ed007's Note - There's nothing finalised between us and City yet but there's no way the PR department would allow the announcement when Brendan Rodgers is over in Kazakhstan. He'll be front and centre with that twinkle in his eye and those pearly whites beaming out and with his arm around Paddy who's holding the No.7 jersey.}

3.) 21 Aug 2017 16:59:56
Stauner material Ed 😂.

{Ed007's Note - Rager!}

4.) 21 Aug 2017 17:42:14
Throbber🥒.

5.) 21 Aug 2017 20:33:59
Hi Ed. Just watching the city v Everton match and l see Peter lawell is at the game. Image to sort out the last of paddys deal l hope.

{Ed007's Note - Hopefully - or maybe he's got a surprise up his sleeve.}

6.) 22 Aug 2017 13:57:00
surely not that dud wilfred bony too? lol.

16 Aug 2017 17:04:42
There is a rumour going round that Swansea City are looking at a £6 million pound move for Stuart Armstrong as a replacement for Sigurdsson. His head has definitely been turned after last season. What do you think.

Higgins94

1.) 16 Aug 2017 17:36:54
Now a rumour that there has been a breakthrough and he's signing up.

2.) 16 Aug 2017 17:40:09
He's to sign the new deal with us in the next 48 hours, so hopefully that'll be the end of that. 🙃.

3.) 16 Aug 2017 17:42:45
I think with the money down there 6mill isn't enough, even with a good sell on clause.

4.) 16 Aug 2017 17:52:44
Looking hopeful that he is about to sign on the dotted line. If this has been sorted before tonight's game I expect SA to play a blinder now his future has been sorted.

I have to say, although I appreciate it isn't official just yet, I am absolutely delighted. I honestly think he is going to be top drawer. I think he could be one of the best midfielders we have had for a long time.

5.) 18 Aug 2017 09:54:28
Delighted to boy is signing. Top drawer and will only get better.

I hope all is ok with griffiths as BR has confirmed he is out indefinitely as life is tough and has had on going personal issues for months. Griff look after yourself and all the supporters are behind you and hopefully you will be back soon.

Does anyone know if there will be a link to watch the charity game.

Higgins94

1.) 08 Sep 2018 13:48:55
The way it's selling they'd be better in Falkirk or airdrie. 8000 I heard last nite. Tell me this, and before anyone starts I know it's a good cause, but why is it being held in celtic Park? Petrov v milner should be in villa Park surely.

2.) 08 Sep 2018 16:09:40
Is it in celtictvtony?

3.) 08 Sep 2018 22:00:19
yeah what higgins said?

4.) 08 Sep 2018 22:05:12
20,000 tickets sold by yesterday.

21 Aug 2018 09:28:51
I seen that we are being linked with Scott McKenna. I don’t think he is any better than what we have at the moment and I think we need a RB a CB and a attacking midfielder.

Higgins94

1.) 21 Aug 2018 11:03:07
I really thought the unnecessary CL exit would have jolted the Board/ scouts into overdrive to address the lack of quality and experience we have in these key areas, before the EL games.
However, knowing our clubs history of dithering, haggling and bargain basement, last minute loans and stop-gaps, I am worried we will not improve the squad sufficiently to satisfy the manager and support. Additionally, the fringe players that are not in BR's plans should have been punted by now to release funds instead of paying guys - eating up cash resources - to sit in the stands.

2.) 21 Aug 2018 15:13:47
Give yourself peace Kev, a blind midget would be better than Hendry at centre half.

3.) 21 Aug 2018 18:14:40
Brendan Rodgerrs is an expert, us amateurs need to respect his expert opinion& fully support his judgement . We must welcome McKenna if he comes, and support him and encourage him to have a wonderful career with Celtic.

27 Jan 2018 17:50:02
Any news on how serious Gordon's injury is? We will need to go out and sign another keeper as De Vries is the only one left with Hazard on loan at Falkirk.

Higgins94

1.) 27 Jan 2018 18:11:28
Ross Doohan is back at Celtic now.

I think he was wanting a permanent deal and not a loan one. There’s talk of Crystal Palace making a £25 million bid for eduouard I don’t think he would go there. We need 2 goalkeepers a centre half and a right winger to challenge Forrest.

I’d get rid of boli tbh as he’s been crap. The talk is that Forster will sign on loan again but if Gordon goes we would need a back up. I think we need at least one centre half regardless.

I agree with you about the centre halfs. I think we need 2 solid centre halfs if we have any ambition for Europe. I would also try for a new goalkeeper someone like Danny Ward from Liverpool. And finalise a deal for Roberts if we can but I would prioritise the centre halfs.

I'm not judging him on one game, he's been fantastic for us. He is prone to a few errors and think there should be a new keeper targeted for Europe if we are looking to progress.
