I have nothing againt Steven Fletcher, he's not prolific but he's a tidy footballer. However, if we are willing to pay hefty wages to bring in a striker on loan from the EPL then surely Hooper is the man to go for!? At present we probably make (and miss!) more chances than when he was here, he'd bang them in for fun!

I don't think Fletcher would be a bad signing at all. The biggest issue would be keeping him fit. But at the wages mentioned, I'd say there's definitely better out there. I mentioned last week Beric from Rapid Vienna has scored almost a goal a game for them and it's been reported over the weekend that he's going to St. Etienne for 5m Euros. Surely we can compete in that sort of market.

Mentioned Beric before kev would be a great signing imo. Be humped if he goes for 5m euros. There's a few strikers in that 5-7m EURO bracket I'd love us to just go for but it just isn't happening. Boetius to Basel for 2.5m EUROS got my blood boiling. Would have been perfect for us and for those that care we could have easily trebled our money.

I said exactly the same thing months ago. I would have sold VVD first at the start of preseason and brought in 2 new centre backs at that time. They would then have had the preseason ges to build up an understanding in time for the qualifiers.
Maybe we will learn from this but I doubt it.

I think that Celtic and Scotland is not necessary the favourite place many of our targets wish to go to . Maybe we have to wait until the closing days of the window for us to land any of our targets .
I wouldn't be surprised if our board or Mr Lawwell were slow at doing the business, but on the other hand it might be the agents and players holding out for better than Glasgow .

Ed, I don't think Villa fancy the gamble either but if no one else is prepared to chuck £4.5 million at Villa for Sinclair they are left with a player on the books taking £30k a week (not sure if he is on that but expect it won't be far away) for the next 2 years just to warm the bench. I think they will wait to see what happens on 2 fronts. One, if Celtic qualify for CL this year, as that may give them some encouragement and secondly just wait and see if anyone offers £4mill plus for him. I think £4mill upfront would get him. Is there any other club linked with him?

Ed didn't know it was a 6mill asking price for English clubs? don't think he is a £6mill player but the money down there is obscene but he is never going to go to a big club so it's a lower Premiership side who may buy him and they tend to be very careful with their cash, so maybe that £6mill price tag helps us?

Belter of the season so far! John Collins says that we were better than molde over the 2 legs! We had more possession he says! Is this guy at the wind up! Well it's been a couple of hours since the final whistle and my feelin is not of anger! It's just the realism that our management should go for there own sake aswell as the clubs! I really don't want it to turn nasty for Ronnie because he seems like a nice bloke! But his euro record is abysmal! Home and away defeats to molde are the last straw I'm afraid! We've went in the space of 3 seasons beating Barcelona to be humiliated on a regular basis by European also rans! Molde Malmo Maribor to name 3! Think I agree with you DH, ever since that game against Legia, after it I was left with a feeling of ' that was awful ', Ronnie is a nice person, but does he have the attributes to become a top class manager, there might be a role for him at Celtic in coaching the youths and bringing them on, but I think he is very pig headed and its his way or the highway sort of thing, to be anything more than a youth coach, but, and its a big but, if he gets to the end of the season, and he comes to his senses, and maybe starts playing the younger players instead of the established ones just as an experiment to see how they do, who knows what might happen, ok DH maybe i don;t agree with you.

No one forces Ronny to play guys like Armstrong, Gordon (Clearly not the same keeper this season) , Boyata, Blackett and of course the seemingly undroppable Johansen. These players have kept failing Ronny time and again this season. Brown is another and the fact we've bought 3 players from Dundee Utd over the last year shows how far we've fallen.
It's not the system it's the players whom occupy it that keep failing. Rogic had a poor night although I still rate him and Bitton wasn't at anywhere near his best, Ronny needs to start getting brave with guys like Boyata and Johansen and even Gordon because these guys are going to cost him his job, it's clear as well Lustig isn't up to it anymore at RB at this level and should be moved to CB. Major decisions like these Ronny needs to start getting right but I fear it's too little too late for him.

It appears a lot of our fans seem to be falling for the press boys patter exactly which Scottish club managers recently have had excellent results in Europe? Not many that I remember some great celtic managers have been constantly poor in Europe. The mighty English premiership teams down south with all their multiple millions constantly struggle for consistency in Europe. so what gives our club the God given right to succeed annually in Europe. The poor results are ammunition for the Scottish press to have a dig at us I would love us to be able to perform better in Europe but nowadays there isn't much difference between £2 million pound players and £500,000 so unless we are prepared to go with a long term plan to establish a model to create a conveyor belt of talent then I feel we will be where we are for a very long time?

Totally dominating us over 2 games? Because the last time I looked the Norwegian league wasn't up to much! And u say he's a coach and this is the done thing at most clubs!
