It's noticeable that the 60,000 Celtic Park has empty seats throughout the season because Celtic have a policy, which only allows the season ticket holder to use that ticket.
It's obvious Celtic have that policy for security reasons and it means they have a record of every single fan, sitting on their seats.
Celtic also keep 5,000 spare tickets to sell to single match day supporters.
Celtic must now have at least 30,000 fans on The Home Ticket Scheme and it can be expensive for Supporters.
Celtic could start up a scheme that allows our fans, to sell on tickets to other Celtic supporters through the club.
The money received would go into their account, to help pay for future, The Home Ticket Scheme expenses.
1- The club could receive a fee for their services.
2- The fans would receive money back for games they can't attend.
3 The 16,000 non season ticket holders who are on the waiting list, will know that they will have a better chance of receiving an odd ball ticket for most/ every home matches.
It would keep the demand for tickets higher because currently our fans don't think, we have a chance of a single match day ticket and then we see empty seats on the TV.
Celtic should come up with a policy that keeps all of our fans happy, including our long suffering supporters on the season ticket waiting list.

Totally agree Buzz, I was one block over from the Aberdeen supporters yesterday. A fan said we have offered 7.5k to Sevco not sure if that's happened. Think the club want to have a high number of tickets available for two reasons. To provide match day experience for new fans and for these fans to spend more on merchandise.

Definitely should be looking on expanding the stadium capacity.

It infuriates me that something so simple hasn't been set up. It's a win win situation, the ST holder could build up a fund to go towards his next ST, it allows more non ST holders to attend hence fewer empty seats at the less glamorous games. How simple would it be for the ST holder to inform the club they won't be attending upcoming game, club cancel ST for that fixture then sell seat on public sale. The club could make out of it aswell if they sell ticket for £30, give say £20 to ST holder and £10 back into club.

I’ve got a project roadmap drawn up with this exact business model via an app. The app would be generic but a white label skin would be offered to each club to make it custom and a pre defined set of variables for them to enable what and how they control the exchange of tickets.

My initial goal for this was to allow season ticket holders to offer up their tickets to schools/ sports clubs to encourage the younger generation to attend matches in a cheap way (even free if the ticket holder wasn’t fussed about getting money) .

The dilemma I’ve got is it’ll be very expensive to build this and getting in the door of enough clubs to make it worthwhile is extremely time consuming and expensive. I still would love to build it, I truly believe it would catch on and is the next increment of fan input to their clubs as well as keeping the stadium full and enabling people to enjoy match day experiences for a lower cost.

{Ed007's Note - Good luck with it, Panda ??

I totally agree the club should arrange a ticket exchange . With travel issues I can’t make midweek games ( unless like last year it’s against sevco ) , and I presume it’s the same for lads that come from Ireland . If hearts can arrange it surely we could .
In another note, around me yesterday there was quite a few empty seats but more annoying to me was at least 10 people around me turned up twenty mins into the game, and left at half time. This is a regular occurrence and it baffles me as to why they bother.
If they want to be in the pub, just stay there and let someone else use the ticket .
