Dundalk V Celtic 1979 European game. I was only 12 and could only see the goal to my right as I was too small and the guys in front of me blocked my view on the terrace in oriel park.

Them in 1969 and Leeds 1970, pretty sure the were both lift overs as I was only young. We were just brilliant back then. George Connelly was my favourite player.

gedceltic,
My dad missed your favourite player Connelly score after about 45 seconds at Elland Road.
Celtic had double the shots at goal away to Leeds and Celtic also won the corner count 12-1.
Not bad for a team playing away from home in a European Cup Semi-Final.

* I meant due to the crowds at the turnstiles.

My first game was V Hibs in 1980.
First away game was away to Hibs in 1983.
My son was born the same day Celtic beat Hibs in 2001
My son’s first match was Celtic 3 Hibs 2 in 2005.
But his first away game was at Killie. ( not Hibs ? )
I’m hoping to take him and possibly my daughter to a CL away match next season and I hope we get a German team. ( they have 5 in the CL )

You’re a hibee buzz or are you Leigh Griffiths. Do you tie scarfs around goalposts for fun.

Hi Buzz hope you and the family are well, I sailed with a Leeds supporter and when he knew I supported Celtic he began to talk about the game at Elland Road saying they thought Leeds were the best around at that time but Celtic made us look like a 4th division side. The Leeds fans were mesmerised by what they saw that night and they had never witnessed football like it, what a compliment. Say hello to your mum and dad.

We’re all keeping well Oldkilly, I hope it’s the same at your side. ?
My Mum and Dad were down for my daughters prom night last week.
Celtic FC don’t get the credit for the team we had in the late 60s and early 70s.
The clowns that mentioned that Sevco Scotland achieved better last season are clueless. ?
We will need to arrange a night in the CC for the Coatbridge Bhoys and anyone else.

{Ed007's Note - I'll head over for a soda water & lime no probs Buzz ?

That’s great Ed.007 because I feel bad at missing the catch up on the 16th.
I could get my son to pick you and Robroy up and drop you both off, no problem.
There’s a few guys on the site like Steff Etc from Coatbridge.
Anytime suits me over the next couple of weeks.
What suits you Steff and Rob?

{Ed007's Note - ??? We'll try and sort something out.}

You’re forgiven Buzz it would be would be nice to meet up in the Columba club. Ed007 there won’t be much soda water left as that’s all I drink.

{Ed007's Note - ?? That'll be a first - a pub fight over soda water! I mentioned it on the Discord and a few of the lads are up for coming over so just let us know.}

I lived at 54 St John Street till I was 18. My auntie had the Chiropodist shop across the road from St Pats and I had my first pint in the Argyll pub on the corner. The Columba buckfast club was through the close opposite St Pats.

{Ed007's Note - If this turns out you're related to Buzz and OK I'm getting my own TV show out of this: "Who the F**K do you think you 'ur".}

gedceltic I remember going the chiropodist in St. John st I think her name was Frances don’t know if that’s the one you are referring to.

{Ed007's Note - It's like a Coatbridge version of There's a Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis.... There's a bird works in the chiropodist down St John Street that's called Frances...

My auntie and uncle stay in St. John Street.
And yes it’s the same house that I turned on the radio to hear McGarvey score to make it 3-2 at Ibrox in 1983.

question for you bud but not football related, i can't remember the name of two blocks of flats that were knockd down in the seventies (i think) i'll try and tell how to get to them, go down the mill brae and under a bridge along a few hundred yard then turn left up a small hill i think their were a few semi detached houses and then the flats on the left, don't know if it goes under cuperhead or kirshaws it was so long ago. i remember the two tower blocks.
