So with us more or less guaranteed champions league football does anyone expect our transfer business done a lot earlier. I have felt like most seasons we gamble on being in Europe and have went into the qualifying rounds not prepared and without the right personnel. Next year we have the luxury of none of these qualifying rounds and more chance to prepare and get ready for season without these games can only be a good thing.

Ed is there any concrete interest for the lad solbakken or is it just paper talk? I think the lad is a great player and would love to see him come in.

{Ed007's Note - There's definitely interest from Celtic in Ola Solbakken and I disagree with the reports that he's a Plan B to Jota. Solbakken is due to get surgery on his ankle that could put a spanner in the works of any summer transfer but with his contract running out at the end of the season (December) we could sign him on a precontract this summer for the January window.}

I think it’s a no brainer to go for him especially with Forrest looking like he will be nothing more than a squad player at best . Solbakken would also give us a bit of physicality that we are lacking.

{Ed007's Note - It's a stick or twist decision for Celtic regarding James Forrest as he is going into the last year of his contract so we either give him a new deal, sell him or let his deal run down. I don't see Forrest having much of a future under Ange and considering his wages and his age we simply aren't getting value for money out of Forrest and it would be best for everyone if he moved on this summer imo.}

Forrest is done in my eyes he has been a great servant for the club but it looks like all his injuries have caught up on him and his legs have gone . So with that in mind I think we need one wide player possibly two depending on jota .

Even if jota signs take the boy and ship out Johnstone and with James looking like he might not be the same player it would give us good cover in wide areas.

I think Forrest could still be useful to Celtic. That being said, I do agree he is not offering good value for money, so would be happy to offload him in the summer if we can get a buyer for a modest fee.

The problem with Forrest is he'll be on a good wage as one of our most senior players. It's hard to see many clubs who can afford his wage being willing to pay the money for him at this stage unless it's from America or something.

{Ed007's Note - There's probably teams in England that would match his wages but I can't see then being at any decent level, maybe a life changing move to somewhere like the MLS or Dubai direction would appeal to him.}
