I'm writing to give our defence more credit for their performances since the winter break.
Our defence has protected Joe Hart really well in the league since the winter break.
In the 8 league matches this year, Joe has only faced 10 shots on target, sadly he's still conceded 5 goals.
Hart has only faced one shot every 72 minutes. That's impressive considering Celtic have played away at Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen and Motherwell.
Over the Hill McGregor hasn't been getting the same support from his leaky defence because he's faced a shot every 28 minutes since the winter break.
In the same matches Celtic have only conceded a corner every 38 minutes compared to the Ibrox club conceding a corner every 17 minutes in those 8 league games since the winter break.
The Celtic defence perhaps don't get the credit they deserve, considering we currently have the best defence in the league this season.

Agree with that buzz. We are doing reasonably well in defence, apart from Europe, but we need to start taking more of our chances up front. It doesn't look to good when you have 25 shots and only 1 or 2 on target and win by the odd goal. Hopefully we can kick on and start smashing teams.

I agree the defense has been well organized and very effective in open play and it's corners and wide free kicks that cause most harm. Joe Hart is by far the best option we have but I would like to see us going for someone like Siegrist this summer with the future in mind. When we dominate opponents, it's often the case that their keeper's save them form a 'damn good thrashing' and that includes veterans like McGregor and Gordon, we seem to concede from fewer attempts?

Celtic have only conceded 8 league goals from open play this season.
We’ve actually conceded 9 league goals from set-pieces this season but Celtic don’t concede too many corners and that should continue, with Celtic having 6 home matches left this season.
Although all our players travelled to Norway, we made 7 changes against Hibs and we still had a poor performance and that was concerning.
But I now feel more confident after noticing those recent statistics.
Under pressure Ibrox keeper McGregor, has actually had a better save rate than Hart since the winter break but his defence are not protecting their 40 year old veteran keeper.

Give Barkas another chance.

Joe Hart has conceded a league goal every 160 minutes this season for Celtic.
He’s played 25 league games and only conceded an impressive 14 league goals.
Barkas record is better than I thought.
He’s only played 16 league games for Celtic and conceded only 11 league goals.
Barkas has conceded a league goal every 130 minutes for Celtic.

aindoh,
I also checked Scott Bain’s record from the start of last season and it’s less impressive.
Bain has conceded a league goal every 90 minutes since the start of season 2020/ 21.
He’s played 20 league matches and conceded 20 league goals.

Barkas was playing behind a shaky defence and stodgy midfield, wouldn't have done his confidence any good .

The stats above would indicate that Barkas has a case to be on the bench in place of Bain.
