Very disappointed in NL. Thought he was above playing the blame game. Particularly when he brought in Barkas and Ajeti. A decent goalie, even keeping Gordon, and a robust CF like Dykes (limited but would score goals for us) would have made a big difference. He has to look in the mirror and ask why players stopped playing for him

i think he is right to call them out he will be hurting badly still with loosing the title last season do you think those players that downed tools because they did not want to be there are hurting still for last season not 1 bit celtic means nothing to them now. and it was not him they stopped playing for it was celtic they stopped playing for and us fans and destroyed a historic season for us. if a was him i would name them.

UI Lennon knew who they were and who wasn't putting in the effort so why play them?
How must the guys on the bench have felt knowing there were players putting in little effort keeping them out the team? What a kick in the haw maws that would have been for them.

There's blame on everybody which is what Lennon doesn't seem to want to acknowledge. He quite right to call out the attitude of some players he feels let him down but he also oversaw the demise of an absolute winning machine and has to take his share of responsibility for that.

kev to be fair to Lennon Celtic were downsizing and that's why lenny got the job mate. probs the reason BR jump ship to. he seen it and left before he got the blame for it. last season was a disaster for many many reason i think the players have got off very lightly and lenny seems to be taking the blame for it all off some folk.

Because it was mainly the same players who had won every trophy for the past 3/ 4 years. The only difference on the surface was we had a worse manager.

UI
How can you say we were downsizing when we kept all the players?
If we were downsizing we would have sold Edouard, Ajer, Christie, Calmac and anyone else we rec'd a bid for.
Lennon was purely to blame for this whole mess, he took a team that won 4 trebles and destroyed there moral, fitness and desire.
I have mentioned this before many times.
when Lennon came out after we lost the euro tie and said there were players that didn't want to be there, any other manager would have dropped those said players or would have had them sold.
Lennon needs to shut his mouth and p**s off, Oh you mentioned that he won a treble in his first full season back but you seem to forget that we were lucky that they imploded after the winter break or we might not have made it to 9IAR.

Jonbhoy, fully agree with the latter part of what you said. If what he said was true, he shouldn't have said anything and kept it in-house. He should have been man enough to take the defeat and shoulder responsibility. He was the Celtic Manager for christ's sake, he should have at least acted with dignity, which to me means accepting responsibility.
To me he lost the dressing room, and maybe never had the dressing room entirely with him from the start of his second term.
He should never have got the job in the first place. Too angry, too temperamental, and not much of a coach. His overall managerial record verifies that.
It is in the past now, and has been since the start of the year. Lennon should be acting in a dignified manner, not playing a blame game. He should be careful about naming players though, because they could open up themselves. Where would that get us, and for what?
Lennon should shut up, and say nothing at all. If directly asked a question, he shouldn't feed the media parasites, but either say nothing or respond "No Comment! ".

Lennon not fully to blame for everything but he shouldn't have got the job in the first place His decision making was terrible in more than one occasion the signs were there for all to see back in 2019 only the die hard fans that couldn't take off their green glasses couldn't see how bad and quick we were falling in football standard I get that he loves the club and loves football but really I can't see him get a decent club again.
