I was at the game yesterday and as bad as the result was being my1at game back I had a look at certain players. Vickers looks the real deal composed and makes things easy. Rogic impressed just needs to sort his final ball out when to release it. Jota always willing to take the ball. Bolingoli I thought showed up well considering he hasn’t played. McCarthy and turnbull so far off the pace. What I did see which wasn’t in place last season was the effort the players although no end product you could see were trying. It will come ange can’t be judged on one window and certainly not after a few games.

I was at the game as well and I’m starting to have doubts about ange even tho he’s just 3 month in job. I admit the pace of play is much better than previous season but he is still managing a team who continually make poor defensive mistakes. His substitutions don’t seem to work and it’s now late September with shaw, ozade, scales and Greek boy nowhere to be seen. I’ve no doubt we will beat raith and Dundee Utd but if we are to mount a challenge winning away is essential regardless of injuries against the level of opposition we face in Scotland.

I think if Rogic still doesn't know when to keep and when to release the ball then he will never know and Turnbull can't seem to maintain the standards required at Celtic 2-3 games running - although I accept he is back from serious injury and European football is a fairly new concept to him.
Our bench in the last few games tells it's own story for me as we have no game changers or real quality good enough to inspire a tired team after a Thursday night in Espana.
Fortunately we are still only four points off the top of the SPL even after a abysmal away run and so many injuries, but we were sure to get several missing players at some point over the season and obviously need another 'window' or even two, to cater for injuries and resting players.
I also think his assistants need to prepare Ange a lot better for the games and venues where we have struggled; as the guy is still new to the country/ league and should be better informed?

Tbf his hands are tied on the subs to a certain extent. As for the defensive mistakes they are schoolboy errors the players need to take responsibility for.

That’s a good post Welshy and I agree with everything you wrote.
It’s going to be a long season and I can see Celtic going on a good run with hopefully a settled side.

For me welshy he’s not used his subs anywhere good enough when we were cruising at home 6-0 he still didn’t use shaw or ozade or bolingoli, scales was match fit for European football but can’t get a sniff when winning or losing. The Greek boy can’t even make the bench for a cameo 10 min if required. I’m seriously wondering why or who signed these guys as they are a waste of money if manager didn’t want them? And please tell me why welsh was replaced by bitton and soro for McCarthy when we had ralston Montgomery and scales who could be more offensive. On defensive mistakes we need new coaches for me as we now have new players making same basic mistakes all over the park and ange will be fall guy at the end of season if it goes belly up.

ange looks down hearted and i'm not to sure he fancies the gig anymore, not his own staff, players that have been bought and probably don't fit his style of football so on and so on.

He’s probably sick of the same rubbish questions being judged after every game. Even worse from our own fans. We knew it would be a rebuild not an instant fix let him get on with it.

Definitely welshy you can tell it’s the lazy questions he’s being asked after every game that scunners him. It’s been a horrible start to the league our worst in 23 years but I expected it to be honest . I just hope the Big man is up for a challenge. I think if we play with high attacking inverted fullbacks we need a solid DM to screen defence.
