Am i the only one exited about the big aussie taking over at Parkhead? He will have a different way of setting up the team that Scottish teams will not know. This could be a masterstroke. 💚🍀.

{Ed007's Note - You should listen to our podcast from today, Shaun where Chris and Gavin give us the lowdown on Ange Postecoglou and what we can expect from him.}

He's better than Howe and some fans were delighted with him.

I'm far from excited Shaun but I'll give him every chance and hope he proves to be exactly what we need.

I think we've got every right to be happier with the appointment of Ange than Howe and he should receive every backing from the board to the supporters.

However, to have a chance of success he should be afforded his own team of coaches and not inherit the Chuckle brothers; Lennedy and Strachan.

Whatever the scenario moving forward the fans have been shortchanged by a board who oversaw the disaster of last season and then compounded this with a total inability to plan for NL's replacement that realistically, should have been on the agenda since last November.

I know nothing about Ange but I’m 100% certain Eddie Howe was never the man. He couldn’t have been further removed from understanding what Celtic are all about and like his mentor it sounds to me like it’s all about Eddie the same as it was all about Brendan.

Anybody that has Brendan Rodgers on the other end of the phone as a confidant has serious problems. If he went back on his word he had a good teacher in having no integrity.

PS: I’ve never seen the square headed angry people who holiday in Airdrie as visible or as proud or as loud for many years. The Celtic board allowed this to happen despite being backed by the fans until our noses were bleeding despite not being able to watch a game and should hang their head in shame.

That’s all I have to say about that.

After watching the Doc about Ange and listening to a few people I'm excited to see what he can do but he must be allowed to bring in his own staff and Lennedy must be no where near the first team.

Any manager in football does not become a national team manager unless they have a c. v to back their suitability. Just does not happen.

In region of world he has managed any team, he has done well. For me its not a gamble, its a wise move.

The general consensus in England from pundits etc is we play in a pub league. Players that do exceptionally well in SPL don't get credit they deserve, yet minute they move down south to EPL or championship suddenly they are superstars because of where they play.

Point im making is, would any of us sleep well appointing another manager with EPL experience minute they are doing well for us and EPL club comes in for them? Personally I reckon we would be left looking for another manager mid season again.

Ange has c. v to be more than capable of managing a team in EPL, but strikes me as a manager who wants to win trophies. Not keep a team mid-flight in EPL.

Hope I don't cause offence, I'm a bit drunk lol.

{Ed001's Note - Roberto Martinez did, he got the job with Belgium simply because they couldn't afford anyone better and he was cheap and available.}

Ed001 sorry mate, my mistake. Forgot he never managed a decent team before hand. A total unknown with no prior experience apart from managing.

{Ed001's Note - well I suppose Wigan could have been considered decent. Are you forgetting Belgium are ranked number 1 in the world and yet they hired a manager who relegated a big-spending Wigan (and put them in financial jeopardy), then destroyed an Everton team that had been regularly in and around the top 6 and took them down the table. He got the job for one reason and that is he was affordable. They literally couldn't afford anyone better, even though they knew he was not the manager they actually wanted. It has not worked out too bad, but he wasn't chosen because they thought he was a great coach.}

Ed001 behave, if Martinez had an affiliation with Liverpool and not Everton you would be singing his praises.

He has been an outstanding appointment by Belgium FA. FA is a bit ironic in this conversation because that's what the mighty Liverpool won this season, but had Martinez been in charge good chance things would of been different.

{Ed001's Note - don't talk soft, if he had done to us what he did to Everton I would say the same, he was terrible for the Toffees. Like I said it has worked out well for Belgium but he is a terrible coach and it just shows how poor international footie is. As for me behaving, grow up, I actually like Everton, they have and continue to employ, a large number of my friends and family and their community work is exceptional. But Bobby brown-shoes was a poor choice for them as he has no idea how to organise a defence and destroyed the solid base Moyes had built. Not the same problem in internationals as it is all about individuals and Belgium have an outstanding crop.}
