Rangers actually gave Celtic a guard of honour at Ibrox, before a Scottish Cup tie in 1964.Rangers went on to win the game 2-0.
A few days earlier Celtic qualified for the Cup Winners Cup Semi Final by winning in Bratislava 1-0 to go through 2-0 on Aggregate.
Celtic won the Semi Final first leg 3-0 against MTK Budapest but we lost the return leg 4-0 and we failed to reach our first European Final.
Celtic weren’t a threat to Rangers in 1964 because we hadn’t won a trophy in 7 years, since our historic 7-1 League Cup Final win against Rangers in 1957.

The bellends who keep pushing the guard of honour nonsense need reminding of the C.V. guidence. Players and officials should properly social distance when entering and exiting the pitch. Now unless the players and officials spread half way across London Rd we are going to be in breach of guidence but that's allowed in Scotland. I'm sure Glasgow's finest and the officials will have a wee clap and we might get a tweet from the First Minister reminding everyone to social distance after the guard of Honour. we can't sit in our seats hug our family and friends but these muppets really want us to join in on the fairy tail well done Big Kennedy putting it to bed now show us some fight 💪
HH onwards and upwards.

Lethepeoplesing quite a few Celtic fans think giving a Guard of Honor is the right thing to do. It’s disrespectful referring to those fellow fans as a Bellen*s and muppets. A lot of fans believe by not doing it we’re just following their parochial and pathetic approach.
